We took my 13, soon to be 14 year old son to the mountains for his birthday weekend. He hand picked this cabin for its views and space which neither disappointed. It was nice we were also able to bring along our pups as well which also had a great time lying in front of the fireplace and enjoying the views from the back porch. The family has already designated this as a yearly trip and we plan on staying at Grandfather View again. Thanks to the property manager for such a great experience.

Stunning view on the Profile mountain and other top picks! The house is spatial and well equipment, more than we expected by a property management initial email. Stacey is very easy to communicate and help us with all questions. Roads in Seven Devils have big slopes and curves, so be prepared AWD and/or snow chains.

We had a great time. The cabin was beautiful. Loved the deers were out and you could feed them. The family had a great time.

Had a wonderful weekend at Grandfather View. Traveled to the area to spend the weekend tubing for a 10 year olds birthday. The cabin was well appointed and had everything we needed to cook several meals. The view from the living room and loft was amazing.

Our family had a good visit at this home. It had everything we needed and a great location for our ski weekend! Would definitely stay again!

Great view of Grandfather Mountain with sunrise and sunsets! We were routinely visited by several deer. Easy access to Boone, Banner Elk, Valle Crucis, and the Blue Ridge Parkway.

The cabin was beautiful, spacious for us and our guests. We were lucky to experience great weather which allowed us to have the view of Grandfather mountain. The cabin had everything we needed. Can’t say enough about the location, we were only 20 mins from Boone and the drive was pleasant with gorgeous views. The only thing I would have a complaint about is the cleanliness; the queen bedroom sheets were not changed, there was animal hair and human hair. Also there’s a stain on the stairs and the towels smelled dewy and had stains, like they hadn’t been washed/dried all the way.

We had a great stay at this house! Lots of room, beautiful view, great deck and the hot tub was a really nice addition. Wish we could have stayed longer. Will definitely be back

We really enjoyed our time at Grandfather View! The house was clean, and secluded. Wake up to enjoy a cup of coffee while looking at the face of Grandfather View! It is right in the middle of Boone, Baner Elk, grandfather, and Linville….all places we ended up going while we were there! Would definitely stay here again!!

Amazing views from the back porch. Location is very close to hiking, local attractions and groceries. Sadly disappointed in the cleanliness of this home. We’ve stayed in many homes, in many different states and this was by far the dirtiest. Thick layer of dust on every flat surface. 1 inch of dog fur stuck to the bottom of every chair leg at the kitchen table. Couches were covered in fur. Dead bugs everywhere. *Kitchen and bathrooms were clean and linens were clean. Contacted property manager regarding the state of the home and sent her pictures. She did respond that they had a new housekeeper and would address the issues. A partial cleaning fee refund should have been offered/issued to us as we spent our own time cleaning/dusting some of the main areas because living/breathing-in that amount of dust and fur was unacceptable.

We listed our house in Charlotte and needed to get away for the weekend so we came here. Wow, this is the real deal.

Loved our stay here, enjoyed the privacy and experience of a true mountain cabin getaway.

This is our first time to North Carolina. I wanted a winter vacation and we definitely got one. It snowed a couple times, we were able to enjoy the local tubing. The house was perfect for the days when we were snowed in and couldn’t get down the mountain. Plenty of room for our four adults two teenagers a dog and a two-year-old. Would definitely stay here again. I must say this is probably one of the well-stocked kitchens I’ve ever had and any VRBO. Would love to stay again with just my hubby.

We had an amazing trip to Seven Devils! It’s extremely close to the ski slopes, grandfather mountain, and convenient to grocery stores. The house looks exactly like the photos and overall we very much enjoyed the stay. I will say it could have been a little cleaner. Many kitchen items we pulled out to use had food on them and were greasy. The hot tub also could use a scrub. The biggest issue we had was that neither of us had a phone signal even though I was told people with Verizon would be fine and the WiFi signal was non-existent. Also the landline didn’t work so if there was an actual emergency there would be no way to notify local authorities. Overall a very fun and enjoyable trip.

We enjoyed the hot tub, master bath tub, fire pit - and the indoor fireplace when it got chilly for a couple nights. Recommend arriving in the daytime if you're cityfolk like us - those switchbacks up the mountain seemed scary at dusk, but it was better in morning light. I'd question doing so without the right car during the winter, as they recommend anyway. We went during Covid to enjoy hiking - and boy is there plenty around. There's a TON of trails on the free park portion of Grandfather Mountain, but there's also Pisgah Mountain, Roan, Moses Cone and others - simply beautiful. We thought we'd spend a day heading towards Asheville but there was so many hikes to do we just stayed local. There is a black poodle from the neighbors house that visits - I didn't know what to make of her at first, but she's friendly. Her little companion isn't but he won't go near you anyway!

Property was very nice. Only concern would be cleanliness. We found dishes with stuck on food, I went to take a serving dish down from on top of fridge- it was filthy.as was the top of refrigerator.My husband dropped something and had to go under the king size bed to retrieve it, it looked like no one had cleaned under there in months, he even found a toy and he said there was a glass with a washcloth in it which he left there. Hot tub was great! Kitchen had almost everything I needed although that sheet pan needs to be replaced! Also several glasses need to be tossed- chips on the rim! View was great! Loved the deer and chipmunks! Not so sure I would stay here in winter months- definitely country roads: Cabin was comfortable- loved the fireplace! Beds were also comfortable! If they get a new cleaning crew - it would have been perfect!

We had the best time staying at this cabin. Two and a half years ago I was diagnosed with stage IV lung cancer while pregnant with our second son. I was just 27 years old and my first thought was would I even see my first born turn 5? This weekend we celebrated his 5th birthday and the cabin made it the PERFECT trip! Extremely clean, equipped with everything you need and more, beautiful views, beautiful home and friendly neighbors are just a few great things that describe where we stayed. The house is in a great location to get to Valle Crusis, Blowing Rock, Banner Elk, and Grand Father Mountain. We will certainly be back again and hopefully if we can make it work, before the winter is over with! Thank you for sharing your gorgeous home with us.

Positives-Great location, beautiful scenery. Company sent great communication for check in/out process. Provided excursion info with a free daily pass, which we took advantage of and had a great time. Negatives-We had some issues do to lack of cleanliness. My son had allergic reaction to old feather pillow which sent him to Urgent care. Spotted a mouse in the house twice. There is no trash service so you have to take your trash to a dump site about 10-15 away. Each time we went they were closed (although hrs posted they should have been open).

Very nice property. Well stocked home with everything you need. Hot tub was lovely. Comfortable beds. Would rent again.
