We loved the serenity of the carriage house. The quiet and fresh mountain air was amazing. We mostly loved our stay and had a few gripes, so I'll start with the good. The cabin was well-decorated. Lots of nice little details: a nightlight, magazines, a basket of towels by the entrance, rocking chairs on the deck. The appliances, recliners, hot tub, and windows are of very high quality. The driveway, both gravel and concrete, was practically new and well maintained. Our 2 wheel drive Toyota could access the property without issue. The cabin is easy walking distance to Lookout Trail which ends in a STUNNING view. And Montreat the town is very cute and just down the road. There were a few potential downsides to be aware of. The bed is very soft and is right next to the refrigerator. The sound of the fridge bothered my partner, but I didn't notice. The shower has a fixed head with low water pressure and it doesn't drain well. The hot tub is so profoundly chlorinated that we didn't enjoy using it. For those concerned about the stairs, they were steeper and longer than we had expected. Overall we had a good and relaxing stay.

This stay was just what I needed - peace and rest. Everything was smooth and seamless, just as described. I especially appreciated the detailed driving directions. Thank you! I hope to return again.

Montreat and the property were very pretty. Unit was clean and as advertised. The hot tub was also great and worked flawlessly. Plenty to do just a short drive down into Black Mountain, or it’s a quick ride into Asheville. Uber was pretty affordable into Asheville and found the place no problem.

We really enjoyed this place. The studio was exactly as described, clean, and well equipped with what we needed. Hot tub and grill were nice additions.

We really enjoyed our weekend stay! It was a perfect little getaway spot nestled on the mountain! We enjoyed drinks in the hot tub, movies, and grilling. The kitchen has everything you need and the bed was very comfortable! We will definitely stay here again!

I cannot say enough about how great a place this was to stay. Perfect for me and my dog. Great access to hiking and easy drive to town. All was in great condition and I'll stay here again for sure!

We traveled from Raleigh for our annual mountain getaway. The place was private, quiet and clean with everything we needed. We loved the ease of access to the trails and the hot tub at the end of the day. Highly recommend!

My husband and I enjoyed our stay at the Carriage House. The home is beautiful and in a very gorgeous area that's very private. There are trails all around. The hot tub was great in the crisp autumn air. The kitchen is well stocked with most items you may need. But if cooking isn't in the books the house is in close proximity to some very good places to eat. One thing to consider is that there are a lot of very steep steps to get up to the house and then another bunch of steps once in the house. And definitely bring your own water in as it has an irony smell which is probably not abnormal for the area.

The property is within walking distance of many excellent hiking trails of differing levels of difficulty We enjoyed soothing relaxation in the hot tub after hiking. It was hard to leave.

This was a vacation for my wife and I on our 2 year anniversary. The property was amazing. The amenities are fantastic, and the area is gorgeous. Asheville has so much to offer, and this cabin is far enough away that allows for escape, but close enough that you can quickly enjoy all Asheville has to offer. I will say that I am glad that I drove my 4 wheel drive, it isn't needed but makes the trek a lot easier.

Really enjoyed our stay at this location!! Perfect location for just a chill day or someplace to come back to after a long day of hiking or shopping! Hiking trails not far away and neither is the town of Black Mountain or Asheville. Just to warn you if you are looking at this place there is 17 stairs to the door of the apartment and then an additional 16 once inside. Pictures are accurate just we did not realize this when booking. The apartment itself is beautiful and clean with lots of windows that can be open with screens on them made it great to enjoy the weather without the aggravation of critters. Also, the hot tub is a less private than I personally thought so bathing suits are definitely needed.

Clean, comfortable, beautiful surroundings, will definitely be back.
