The spot is great. Not right on the water; house is situated on the dunes, and the sand can whip in the wind. But the beach is secluded and a short walk to Alsea bay sand dollars abound! We had a lovely stay. House is cozy. Great spot to unwind.

Upon arriving the general atmosphere and appearance was good but after we got settled in we found issues that could have been avoided. In the description it was noted that there was a coffee maker that used pods but when we went to use it we found that there were parts missing, it was unusable and it was dirty. We hadn't brought regular ground coffee so we were out of luck until we could get to a store. The batteries in the TV remote were missing. The water heater in the garage leaks so there was water all over the floor in the garage and it wasn't clean and it smelled bad. The deck wasn't usable because it was FULL of sand. Many of the window blinds didn't work. The "ocean view" picture was misleading; the view was mostly of a sand dune. Unfortunately we won't be staying here again.

Every year I take myself and my kids to the Oregon Coast. We stay in a different location every year and so far this has been the best. The house was clean and right on the beach! It would be awesome if there was more of a view of the ocean but no one can control the sand drifts!

A Shore Thing was a very good place to spend time at the beach in Waldport. I have only one suggestion. Please put screens on all windows and make sure they can be opened smoothly, to prevent the house getting stuffy in the afternoons and for sleeping at night.

This place is just as it says. Great views and great location. We stayed with our pup and he can run right out the backdoor and play in the sand near the fire pit!

Everything about this place was perfect. Located right on the beach and had everything we needed to feel right at home.

THE HOUSE WAS VERY WELL KEPT. IT HAD EVERYTHING WE NEEDED. THE BEACH WAS FANTASTIC. THERE WAS A BALD EAGLE PERCHED ON THE BEACH ONE DAY AND OF COUSE THERE WERE SEALS BASKING IN THE SUN EVERY DAY.

Clean and inviting, dog friendly. A relaxing family atmosphere. We will stay here again.

Great property, excellent location, very comfortable beds, good amenities. We would stay here again. The check-in process and reservation confirmation processes were cumbersome, including a dozen questions on a tablet upon check in. Annoying but wouldn't keep me from staying here again.

This was a great house for a quick getaway. House was clean with updated furnishings, making it very comfortable. If you stay her expect LOTS of sand. Just need to come and go through the garage and back door yo get to the beach. We’ll stay again for sure!

My family loves to vacation on the Oregon beaches. This was my second experience with Sweet Home vacation rentals, and they are the best property management company on the Oregon Coast. This house is small, but the layout is excellent, the furniture comfortable and clean, and the views lovely. There are plenty of beds, and the kids got a kick out of the built in bunks. I would advise a mattress topper in the master bedroom - my husband had to switch beds because the mattress was so stiff. But I loved waking up and having my first view be of a little bit of ocean through a gap in the dunes. About that sand : through no fault of the property owners, there was a constant barrage of wind and sand that creeped in through every crack, even blocking the back door. A very clever addition to this house is an enclosed outside shower where you can take off your sandy clothes, wash down your sandy kids with warm water, and enter through the garage. A drying rack and space heater in the garage might be helpful.

The unit was perfect for our stay in Waldport. It was very clean and had an amazing view. Only downside was it was so close to the beach and the wind blew the sand all over the cars that we ended up parking the smaller car at my parents in fear of getting sand damage.

The place was sweet and charming. However our stay was severely hindered by severe weather. We arrived Monday evening in some rain but the night turned into a wind, sand and rain torrent. By morning the wind blew sand into 3-4 ft dunes that covered the driveway and our car. Fortunately it all died down the by weds. The property manager though was great. They arranged to have someone plow out the driveway and our car and even a path to the beach. So by Weds afternoon we took a little walk to the beach though it was still pretty windy and a bit chilly. It was good we brought along enough food as we really couldn’t rely on getting to a market. Sand dunes block most of the ocean view. The house is very comfy and well stocked with games and puzzles. It was quite an adventure while not what we expected we still loved it

Our November visit was perfect and peaceful. Love the rain and then the break in the clouds which allowed us to explore the beach with the dogs. Great property will be back again.

Such a wonderful property with amazing amenities and views. Could not have asked for a more picture perfect place to stay!!

We are so sad to end our week stay in this lovely beach house right on a quiet stretch of beach in Waldport. We walked the beach and collected shells every day and rarely saw another person. Our 4 year old loved the sand toys and the games in the garage. We greatly appreciated the washer and dryer! The house is tucked in a quiet neighborhood but is within a short drive to a small town with a few restaurants but also a little bit longer drive to Newport and Yachats both of which have great restaurants and cute stores for shopping with many places to stop along the way to soak in the coast and all the stunning views.

House was a single story (which we needed) and situated off the beach behind the dunes. Very comfortable. Everything we needed.

The house was very cuts and clean. A little sand in the house but that comes with the territory of being right on the beach. It has a nice view. It is a little of a walk to the water but was nice especially for the Dogs to wear them out. Checking in was easy also. We will come back.

We loved this little place in the sand. The property has a regular coffee maker and a fairly well stocked kitchen with pots and pans. That was super helpful because my wife is on a special health food plan and there was mostly bar food in town. There are grocery stores in town, but there is a huge Fred Meyer in Yachats that has a lot to offer. I think it’s 20 miles away. We had fun hiking, flying the kites, and walking the beach. The beach does get foggy, but when it’s clear, it’s beautiful. The only complaint we really had was that the house could have been cleaner. On first impression, it looked clean. But we found coffee grounds left in the coffee maker, the oven was filthy but worked great, there were crumbs on the floor in the kitchen and in the living room, and the shower room off the back porch was musty enough that when we initially opened the door, it took our breath away a bit. Keeping that back door shut was very helpful during our stay. My wife would have cleaned up a bit, but she did’t find the cleaning closet until we were leaving. It also would have been helpful to have a book at the house to tell you about places to go and see, nearby hikes, and just about the house itself like the games that were there and where the cleaning supplies were located. Overall, we had a great time and an incredible view.

This house has a beautiful view and walk out the door access to the beach. We stayed four days and had many walks on the beach, s’mores at the fire pit, family meals at the dining table. One night was 100% clear of clouds and the stars were amazing! We saw the Milky Way and so many constellations. The dark sky made it truly magical. We would love to stay here again.

Nice amount of space, beautiful view. Unfortunately wasn't completely clean when we arrived. Also didn't appreciate the 5pm check in, very late for families with kids.

Perfect place for a stormy weekend on the coast! Love how this property is nestled in sand dunes. Kitchen well stocked with dishes. Beds clean and comfortable. Would definitely stay at this place again.
