Close to the ferries and the beaches

the rooms are outdated. It was very warm due to the nice weather. Fortunately, there was a small fan, but this was insufficient. The swimming pool water was ice cold, too cold for children. The breakfast was very tasty and the staff very friendly.

We stayed at this hotel as it has more parking available. We were travelling on the ferry to Kristinsand. The room was larger than expected and comfortable. There were no shampoo sachets only body wash in the shower. Breakfast was ok and parking was no problem as there is a large area at the back of the hotel. The town of Kristinsand was not anything special. It is only a place to stay before the ferry trip. Make sure you book your ticket for the fast ferry.

Big room, good breakfast and really close to the ferryterminal.

We booked this hotel to break up our journey before taking a ferry the morning after checking in. The check-in and breakfast was generally satisfactory. The work-out facilities are below par and the swimming pool was exceedingly cold. The room was below average, with uncomfortable pillows and very few amenities in room/ bathroom. When asking for late checkout (1/2 hour extension) we were told that this was impossible due to a full hotel. Fair enough, but this shows rigidity instead of the pragmatism one would expect from a service-oriented hotel staff. Find another hotel if you are staying in Hirtshals.

Good place to stay coming from Norway with the ferry

On arrival we asked from the reception whether it is needed to book a table from the restaurant, they said no, there is plenty of space. Once we arrived to the restaurant, waiters threw us away saying there is lack of personnel. Fine, but would it make sense to inform this to the reception where people are asking this? Our family at least got into trouble because it was late and all the restaurants in town were already closing.

Very friendly

Stopped overnight here before catching the ferry to Norway (it looked that that's what most people were doing) but actually had a really good stay. Spacious room, comfortable bed and a good night's sleep. Plus it was a very good price especially considering the excellent breakfast that was included. Staff were all friendly. We also ate in the restaurant in the evening and were very impressed by the food, so I'd recommend trying it if you're staying there. The ferry port is literally a 5 minute drive/ride from the hotel, so very convenient. Parking outside the hotel was easy and seemed safe, and I think there is an overflow car park as well. I would certainly stay here again if I'm taking the ferry in future.

Still nice and good hotel! Large rooms, very good breakfast! Will - actually did !- book again for return voyage to Norway..- I think, the pool is / was closed, however…?!?

Breakfast good but simpel.

The Room was a little bit dirty and so warm, without any air condition and the window didn’t open well, so we couldn’t cool the room down. The Bathroom was also so warm without a window or airflow. Taking a shower without the door open wasn’t possible and when taking a shower the bathroom got flooded because there was no door or curtain to the shower and there was a step, so the water splashed over the step and can’t flow back. There also was mold in the corners of the bathroom. The breakfast was really good with a lot of options.

It was okay

Hotel is nearby Hirtshals dock, so far best hotel in town you can stay. Room is big and relatively clean but we found few small house spiders and webs, but it is understandable due to low season and age of the place. Bathroom is clean with heating floor. Staff is ok. Plenty of car parking. Breakfast serves at second floor, good basic breakfast for everyone.

Large rooms with exactly what you need.

The Skaga hotel is at the Harbor. Our room was spacious and clean and the staff was friendly. The hotel restaurant was excellent. It was early June so the sun woke us up early. Blackout curtains would have helped.
