This is a wonderful hotel from check in to check out! The lobby is beautiful with several quaint sitting areas and a huge breakfast area / restaurant. The breakfast is amazing and delicious! The pool area is funky and very nice with a great hot tub, sauna, etc. And our room was very nice and quiet. The hotel is convenient and walkable to all areas, restaurants, train/bus, museums in central Stavanger. We had a very fun stay!

Unfriendly staff

Good: - The room was clean - Breakfast had many choices - Nice jacuzzi Bad: - The shower did not have warm water. I talked to the reception, but they could not change the room because it was fully booked. They send a plumber to fix, but they could not fix it due to the lack of parts. We had cold shower for all the three nights. - We requested a king size bed when booking but got two single beds instead. The receptionist was unapologetic and said ‘You’ve got a same type of room anyway’. - We rented bathrobes for the pool areas (100kr/person). When checking out, we kindly asked if we could take them for free as a compensation because we had to take showers in the pool area due to the lack of warm water in our room. The receptionist did only cancel one of our bathrobe and still charged for one and again, being unapologetic. Overall: It was our first time staying at Scandic and disappointing. I expected the standard was closer to Raddison blu or Thon hotels. I would not choose any Scandic hotels in the future.

The location of the hotel was fine and central in Stavanger. However the hotel was quite dirty, the beds were really not very comfortable and the breakfast logistics were a disaster.

I travelled to Stavanger to go on group hiking trip but I was staying at the hotel as a solo traveler. I called the hotel the day before I was due to travel with a query and from speaking to Caroline, I could tell I had made a good choice! She was super lovely and friendly - I met her when I arrived and again she was so helpful and just a really nice person with great energy! I would definitely stay here again and am already looking forward to my next trip :)

The stuff in the hotel is very nice and helpful as well as being always ready to answer any questions you may have. The rooms are specious, functional and the beds are comfortable. This hotel has the best variety for breakfast imaginable.

Property has improved greatly since Scandic took over. Nice location to the city. Nice bright breakfast area with good choices

One star hotel at five star prices. Spotty service, only one towel per room in the name of the environment. No staff to seat guests in dining room. Relatively messy tables and food area.

I cannot fault this hotel in any way. The staff are wonderful - helpful, polite and happy to assist in any way. The rooms were beautiful and clean and a very good size. Breakfast has a huge range and caters fantastically for gluten free and lactose free guests. It does get a little busy at breakfast but they do warn you on reception about which times are busier. The highlight though is the beautiful swimming pool / spa area. It works on a booking system so it’s never too busy and the features are absolutely stunning - perfectly clean and laid out beautifully. We will definitely be visiting this hotel when we are back in Stavanger!

A bit outdated and not so fresh. Lot of empty space over the lobby with some room having windows only to the inside. Too expensive for the standard given. Pool does look nice though, even if I didn't have time to try.

Clean hotel, and warm welcomed by the reception staff. They staff was knowledgeable and I much appreciated their free bike-service.

They do everything well. Exceptional breakfast, clean rooms, comfortable, a nice swimming pool. Everything to like here.

The room was nice & big but the view overlooking people’s balcony.The air condition cant be adjust always at 22 degree and it’s varm in the room.Long que for breakfast and only 45 minutes.Stayed 4 nights no tidy of bed.Positive - staff at reception are friendly & outside the hotel have some tables to sit & chill

I've stayed at this hotel a few times before and have been satisfied. This time, everything seemed wrong. We were a party of four and the sofa-bed was utilised. Unfortunately, they have this covered in plastic, with only a couple of bedsheets on top of it. It made a lot of noise and it wasn't possible to sleep. I asked the reception, where they replied they can't take away the plastic because it's a new sofa - bed and they're still waiting for the protection. They didn't offer a room exchange nor offered an extra tub mattress on top. We were here three nights. No good sleep for me. On our last day I found a half empty cup of cold coffee under the sofa - bed and a few candy wrappings that didn't belong to us. On top of this, they only provided towels for two people. When we asked the chambermaid to give us two more when she cleaned, but this didn't happen. The room also lacked coffee when we arrived. The bathroom door made noises. When I complained during check out, I was promised a night free of charge because of my discomforts. After one month, this still hasn't arrived.

Vennlig og fint hotell, sentralt. Hyggelig betjening. Litt håpløst med parkering, da tilhørende parkeringskjeller var full, var derimot mange gater i område med mulighet for parkering!

I would never ever recommend this hotel, it’s called Royal scandic hotel? I didn’t feel treatment well. The cleaning maid was more helpful than the night shift concierges. Not worth the money I will stay at a different hotel next time. Not worth my money at all.

The Sauna was not heated up despite having it booked ahead, the towels are small, you are being charged extra for additional towels and the shower is terrible - there was no soap in the shower. The staff was ignorant, not service orientated and condescending. Have never experienced this level of sheer insolence from any hotel. This is supposedly a four star hotel, but obviously does not live up to its standard - Skip this as there are other great options in the city.
