Lovely classic hotel but the service lacks. Two attempts to fix a noisy bathroom fan both failed, no apology and theres a lack of good customer service generally. Some staff are polite and friendly others can’t raise a smile. Hot breakfast items were poor and stone cold, other breakfast items very good.
Easily rectified issues but can they be bothered?

This property is gorgeous. The suite and pool was amazing. The view was breathtaking, pictures don’t do it justice. The staff was very friendly, too. Perfect place for a couples getaway.

A little bit hard to move around without a car, so I suggest you rent one, or be ready to spend a few hundred euros in taxis!
The location is nice, the view on the lake is amazing. The room were small and the electrical plug was pretty far away from the bed.
There's a horizontal elevator that brings you to the other section of the hotel.

The staff at the front desk was very helpful and accommodating. We got stuck in Arona due to a train strike and managed to get a room at Hotel Bristol and the staff helped us arrange transportation to Milan the next day so we can continue on with our journey. Hotel was really nice, although past its heyday. A really different feature is the “elevator” that moves like a train. Room was very clean, not enough bathroom
Amenities. Location was right across Lake Maggiore and walkable from the bus station.

This hotel is faboulus and I will be coming again. Very well located for restaurants and Stresa down town. Staff is so helpful and friendly and the garden and pool is amazing. We loved it

Unique property, but could use a navigation map, it seems amenities are not as visible as in a "new" or more modern hotel. Bathroom was not in a great shape, service was great though.

Nothing grand about this hotel, seemed last renovated in the 1989s. Shabby and old fashioned. First out in an attic cupboard with 3 single beds. Requested change. Facilitated by grumpy receptionist. Next room similar, but thankfully not an attic. Pool like a holiday camp.

Enjoyable stay. Room good with a side lake view. The breakfast was slightly disappointing. However the evening meal that we had in the hotel restaurant was excellent.

very nice hotel and we had a room on 3rd floor with balcony with a fantastic view to the lake. There is a lot of noise from the road but you can live with it. A stupid thing was you had to use your key card to open the refrigerator each time and there was a beep sound every time after opening it. Not good when you need something cold to drink during the night, you wake up your partner. The pool area was nice but the staff there was not. Very unfriendly. The prices in the bar were over the top. But we had a nice stay and can live with the noise just we have this view.

My daughter left her school book in the hotel room and we had to catch an early train to make our flight. I called the hotel and asked them what I should do and they said stay on the train and we will mail the book and they did!!!! Excellent place to stay and mind blowing customer service!!!

Grand Hotel Bristol was in such a great location, very walkable to shops and restaurants and right on the water. We came to Stresa for a wedding that was only about a 4 minute drive from the hotel. Stresa is such a beautiful timeless little town and the hotel displayed Italian classic decor. The staff was friendly and you could say that the inside was 'dated' but it was still beautiful. Our room had a lake view with a small balcony as well. My only complaint would be that the mattress and pillows were a little firm but all in all this hotel was exactly what we were looking for.

Quite an old hotel in very good central location. All the facilities are old or very old. Though the room itself is ok and clean, the mattress and pillows are totally uncomfortable. During our stay they held some kind of party of young people from Norway which made our stay not pleasant at all. Drunk people were shouting all the evening around the pool and then all night until 4 am.
