The staff were very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. Would highly recommend this hotel.

Great if you have a car, free parking space for hotel guest but it will be quite a steep walk up if you don’t have a car. Staff are nice and friendly. Room is clean and good size. Huge beautiful balcony overlooking The Ruebach beer distillery and a nice view of a nearby village and hill. No air conditioner, you can open the windows and hear all the cars passing by the nearby highway plus the flies come inside the room and in the open breakfast dining area.

Stefan and his staff were lovely. They went out of their way at every turn to accommodate us and make us feel welcome. When Stefan learned that we would be checking out before breakfast started, he asked us what we liked and made us a to-go bag. The kindest. Thank you!

No AC, room was hot couldn’t sleep, hotel provided two small fans and asked us to keep windows open for cooling but didn’t help as much, bugs entered since no good screen in windows. Breakfast is average menu doesn’t change. Washer dryer was good, staff is helpful. Over priced paid USD $510 per room per night. Hotel is a bit away from West and OST stations so not walkable must pay taxi (NO Uber in Interlaken) $18 each way, or plan to walk 1/2 KM and get bus 104 between 7am—7pm, not suggested to walk at night since goes through a forest wooded area. Old hotel, elevator sometimes didn’t work. Not worth price paid. Room cleaning service was good, shower is OK, no toiletries except soap provided. Average old 2* hotel with 4* price tag. Don’t book unless you have no choice, my hotel was canceled hence I had to book this at last moment, don’t do this mistake if you have choice. There is a shared kitchen, laundry area which was helpful. Bed could have more pilllows.

Pro: The view from a balcony was breathtaking! Excellent breakfast. Easy to park your car. The room was small and the bathroom was functional (no signs of luxury), but the bed was comfortable and a balcony was a great plus. Con: When the balcony door was open, the highway, though on a distance, was noisy. Highly recommend this place for people traveling by a car.

Quiet area in the woods. Very nice terrace which we couldn’t use much since it was drizzling most of the time. Breakfast was very good. We walked down to the village and took a cab back to the hotel. Helpful staff. It’s a bit older establishment. Walls not insulated properly, Floors squeaked a lot. The guest above us kept moving till 2:30 am. Fortunately for us they checked out next day. Front desk was sympathetic. I will definitely stay there again.

This is a simple hotel, with a nice staff. Room was small, but typical for Swiss hotels. Breakfast was a full hot breakfast with eggs, bacon etc. I was a single traveler and the room was large enough. It might have been uncomfortable with 2 in the room plus luggage. If I am in the area again by myself, I would likely stay here again.

Overall a great property. Definitely not a 2 star hotel. The rooms were clean, breakfast was good, staff was great. Only issue we had was the location of the hotel. The views are breathtaking but to get to a bus or train station you need to walk at least 10-15 minutes on a road that has no sidewalk /footpath for most part. So, it's little risky. I suggest the hotel to start a shuttle service for a small charge from hotel to the bus stop every 15-30 minutes. It will go a long way and will address only negative point I have for the hotel.

Property was a little far from public transportation, about 12 minutes walk from the closest bus station and the road had no sidewalk, making it a little hazardous. Wooden floors were squeaky but the hotel staff were extremely friendly, helpful and accommodating. 5 stars to the staff.

I would definitely recommend the Waldhotel Unspunnen to anyone looking for economical accommodation in Interlaken. The location is a bit isolated, but it's within a reasonable walking distance to Interlaken West station and the shops and restaurants on that side of town. The room was clean and in good condition and the staff was very friendly.

Friendly staff, kitchen for self cooking and clean facilities. Complementary Bus ticket given to each guest for the duration of the trip.

Great stay and receptionist kindly organised a breakfast bag in the morning to collect as we were heading off early to Jungfraujoch. Although location not in the town, it was an easy 20 minute walk to Interlaken West station. Wouldn’t recommend with all your luggage though!

A really joyful experience of stay, particularly having a delicious breakfast at the balcony of the restaurant with a beautiful scenic view. The hotel is located at the countryside but the path is safe for walking even though you do not drive. Take 20-mins walk from Interlaken West Station to hotel.

They maybe not the super easy for wheelchair accessibility but they did everything to make it happen. Service is amazing.

Owner Stefan and his staff were very friendly and helpful…Stefan even helped to reset my car’s digital odometer as it was all in German and I can only handle English!

Pluses - It is close to Interlaken and other activities (as long as you have a car). Wonderful, friendly, and helpful staff. Negatives - No AC, noisy (close to a major highway), and the rooms are tiny.

Very basic motel like room. No coffee in the room. House cleaning staff very loud and will wake you up early in the morning with their loud voices

The property is located far from central area. After checking in we found hair on the bed that was not ours. After informing hotel, they said it was last room and we had no option but to take it as is. We paid $450 for a complete scam of a hotel. Don’t book at all costs.

Worse was when we came back an hour and 30 mins of check in time, the room was still not cleaned and we had to wait another 40 mins. No apology or explanation given. Check in was okay and the hotel had an amazing view. We were driving so it was helpful that they had parking.

It is a good hotel, no ac if you are looking for it, and it is far away from the city and it was such a walk from the train station with bags so taxi might be a move and then you have to calculate if the savings in this hotel is worth the taxi fees. I just walked but take that into considerations. The hotel works, it had beds and can work

The room looks quite unique like a historic building or other opinion would say old building but it didn’t bother me at all as long all I need is there. I got a room facing the mountain view. I love it. The buffet spread is good it could full my tummy. The staffs were so friendly and can speak English fluently. Overall I’m so grateful with my stay.

The staff at the hotel were very helpfull and friendly. Kudos to them. The rooms however are very old, the floors were very squeaky and noisy. You can here every step/movement from the floor above. There is a highway very close by so you hear every vehicle passing by. Getting a good night sleep was extremely difficult. No WiFi signal in the room.
