The pictures on hotels.com and the current Very Good 8.0 overall rating for this hotel are not accurate to the current state of this motel. While the front desk staff was very nice, the property is very worn down and many of the guests looked seedy. Carpets were badly stained.The window AC unit blew a fuse while we were out so came back to a hot room, but then we reset and it ran all night. The beds were clean or we would have left. When we came back to our room at 11 pm, the property seemed rather dark and it was hard to tell what some of the other guests were up to as there were a few hanging out on the balcony and in the parking lot. We will not return, but I wanted to be sure others had more accurrate information. Unfortunately, the photos and online rating are not accurate.

I stayed here for a night while traveling and the staff was very friendly and nice. The room was clean and loved how there was a sink to wash dishes and had a fridge and microwave. It was roomy and would recommend!

I had a very enjoyable stay, despite a late-night power outage (weather-related ).

For the money this is a decent place to stay. I only needed it for a night and it was fine. Good bed, quality towels, quiet location, convenient to many restaurants. Breakfast was limited but was not a deal breaker. I would stay here again.

The toilet was so small and the seat was broken. The lights next to the bed worked but went out and were unuseable. We were too tired to go to the office because we didn't want to have to change rooms. The desk chair when I went to sit in it I almost went flying backwards. The recliner chair was so worn out it would have been better not even being in thre room. I looked like it had been in my Great Grandmothers house for years.

Nice slightly beat up but overall good

We were very happy during our stay at Virginia Inn. The front desk lady was very kind and accommodating, the rooms came with the amenities we needed, and it was a comfortable place to get a good night's sleep while we were on the road. I would go back if I were traveling through the area again.

I travel quite a bit and whenever I stay in Lawrence, I stay here. I've previously stayed in other hotels but this one is my favorite. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The owners are delightfully friendly. Every room I've stayed in has been quiet, clean& comfortable. The rates are good too

This property was very old and run-down. The room was not very clean and there were several deficiencies (For example, the basin of the sink was not attached to the counter, the bed was extremely uncomfortable, the mini fridge was dirty & broken, and the tile floor was greasy while the carpet was crusty.) The facility is located near several other rundown or completely abandoned businesses. There were "amenities" (i.e. breakfast) in name only. If this place had cost $50 or less, it might have be considered "okay" or sufficient.

Booked hotel based on good reviews through Expedia, however we had a different experience. It appeared room had started remolding however, lamps near bed didn’t work, lamp shades falling apart, outlet hanging out of wall, fan in bathroom very loud, appeared broken, light bulb out over sink, lotion bottle half full, stain on carpet, fire alarm in room going off in morning, twice, areas on mattress sheet and bed sheet worn and rough and property run down. Definitely not worth the price we paid. If they would put a little more money and work into property it wouldn’t be a bad place to stay, but the way it stands now you are better off spending extra money and going anywhere else. Google reviews more accurate on this property than Expedia reviews.

Smelled musty. Staff was nice. I would have liked a bigger bathroom more than a hot tub. Very dark inside even with all the lights on. Couldn’t open curtains due to window facing parking lot. Won’t stay there again. I know why the price was nice.

The staff is very nice but in my room achair was broken. Lamps on rhe wall were loose. No chain lock for the door. Walls dinged. Furniture old. Possible mold in bathroom.

There was a large gap in the door. Not bad for this time of year but in the winter-it would have been a terrible draft. The bathroom door didn't shut properly. It was a good place if you just wanted a bed and a shower but I wouldn't stay there again. The front desk staff were very kind and helpful-best part of the experience.

Not as clean as I would like but not too gross either. I really appreciated the welcome packet with bottled water and snacks.

The family running this Inn are attentive and helpful. They work very hard to make their property a good experience for their guests.

My family's stay at the Virginia Inn was nice. We checked in later in the evening and the young lady at the front counter was extremely nice and efficient. The room was clean and stocked with all the standard amenities, everything functioned as it should. The beds were comfortable and we got a good night's rest. The hotel is a little older, but a nice place to stay.
