Perfect! Right next to Kanazawa Station and the local bus line. The bus line directly to Shirakawago is right there too. Very friendly staff and easy to talk to in English or Japanese.

Checking in n out were a breeze.. front desk staff spoke good English... all daily essentials are provided. Value for money!!

Great location if you want to visit Kanazawa and Shirakawa-go. Train and bus station are within 5 minutes walk. There are plenty of shopping to do within the station. All the key locations, castles and the likes are within walking distance (30mn). The travel center is very friendly.

Too small a room. The carpet in the room was dirty. The amenity was not good quality. The price per night was too expensive.

This was a twin room, quite small but fairly comfortable. My biggest issue was the ridiculous step into the bathroom. It was very high and a genuine trip hazard.

I have stayed at many Apa hotels in Japan, and had no problem, but this experience was the worst. The material at the bottom of the beds was torn and stained. The carpet of the room was layered in dust, on both sides of the bed and all edges of the carpet. The toilet in the bathroom was separated from the wall, and made a very loud noise when flushing. The air conditioner filters looked like they had never been cleaned. When my partner and I woke up we had itchy eyes and sore throats. We were coughing and sneezing for the duration of our trip. Considering the coronavirus, I think it’s a health hazard. If the hotel room was advertised as having air conditioner filters that have never been cleaned, dusty carpets, etc., I wouldn't have booked the room. I feel it's unfair that I paid that amount for the room to be so different than advertised. So, I wanted to make a complaint to the manager. I tried to make a complaint, but received no reimbursement or compensation of any kind. It was treated as if I were merely giving feedback. It’s a shame that a room in this condition was so expensive. All in all Kanazawa is a nice city, but I wish we didn’t have to spend our vacation feeling unwell from our hotel room.

Western guests need to know two things about this property. First - the laundry is located *in* the Onsen at the hotel. You *will* be in the onsen with naked guests if you need to use it. The staff manning the onsen reception will cause you embarrasment too by laughing at your discomfort - it felt the staff have an informal game of sending Western tourists in there without warning for the reaction. By marketing themselves to tourists, APA Kanazawa need to do a better job of training their staff in cultural awareness. Second is anything named "Eki Mae" in Japan means "near the station" - any hotel using that name is designed for businessmen. This is not declared anywhere on their advertisements. Accordingly, rooms are very small and aqkward for even modest suitcases. We also found the pillows uncomfortable and the air-conditioning lound relative to everywhere else we've stayed over our 3 trips to Kapan Hotel staff are genuinely hard working and will do their best to look after you - except for the Onsen staff who need training in international culture. Un short - strongly recommend that western guests do not stay here - the hotel should not market themselves to tourists and make their business model clear on boking websites. Do not make our mistake.

The location and service are good. The room is small but clean. Hot spring is small but it's okay.

The room size is small and barely open one large luggage. There is open bath and public hot bath and sauna for visitors plus two floor for parking lot. Perfect location and just take one minute walk to the Kawanaza station.

The location is great! Just 5 min walk from the train and bus station. Very accessible. The only setback is the cigarette and stale smell in the non-smoking rooms.

Small but clean room....with good and useful toiletries. Great breakfast. The only real negative was al the smoke in the lobby area which also filtered into the breakfast room.
