We loved our stay in this old fort. The hotel was clean and comfortable along with an interesting history. We had a little trouble finding it but the locals were very helpful in setting us on the right path.

My friend and I stayed here at the end of September/beginning of October. Despite being well-booked, the property felt very private and serene. Truly could not have asked for a more perfect location--especially lovely to have a private patio for guests with access to the ocean just steps away, but still separate from the more public space on the beach around the bend. Also convenient to have a small concession area to purchase drinks and light fare onsite.Our room was clean, the bathroom was spacious and equipped with the best shower during a 10-day trip. The restaurant on site was also delicious. Most importantly, the service from all of the hotel staff was excellent! The warmest welcome and checkout and nothing but professional behavior throughout. If youre lucky enough to book a room here, you will not be disappointed.

This is an amazing property located in an old fort. Very nicely decorated and interesting things to see it every turn. Great restaurant in one of the best breakfast buffets we have ever experienced.

Feeling blessed to have found this gem of a fort hotel. Enjoyed the view during dinner at the hotel restaurant. The best hotel breakfasts. He room was clean and well appointed. The bars were fun and served amazing drinks. Great value for great service all around. We would not stay elsewhere in Portonovo! Thank you.

The old Fort as hotel gave us best conditions for relaxing and comfortable stay. Room standard as well as reception and food made us feel like visit in heaven! We started with a glass of Verdicchio at terrass with sea view, life is easy some days. Fresh fish and seafood at hotel and neighbouring restaurants, don't miss the mussels!

Amazon hotel. built in a 200+ year old fort, I stayed in their basic room.It was large and very well appointed.The service in the restaurant and food quality was amazing.The front desk was a pleasure, spoke perfect English and provided advise on things in the area and would make reservations if requested.November is not the peak time in the Italian holiday calendar but lovely sunny days made walking around Portonovo lovely.If you wish you can park here and not need to drive for days if you like to walk around the township.

Staff really look after you and they make a mean gin and tonic :) You can lay on the sunbeds in their garden and then just step into the sea but take sea shoes or something like that with you as very rocky but great fun. Step out and rinse in the shower before ordering another spritz at the hotels beach bar brought to you on your sunbed. Loved it here.

We just loved our stay at Fortino Napoleonico and wish we could have stayed longer. The service was excellent and we would like to specially thank Sylvia at the restaurant. If we ever return to Ancona we would stay there for sure.

Great hotel. Very clean and comfortable. Beach was very rocky, but absolutely gorgeous. A short drive into town for dinner.

A gem in the middle of almost nowhere. very different from the run of the mill hotel, a flavour of its original use as a fort, built as one might expect at the sea edge. Very comfortable and clean with helpful staff. Google satnav fines the place easily although the hotel has expressed that other guidance sometimes encounters difficulties

This hotel was amazing, definitively will go back, this hotel should be a 5 star hotel, staff was amazing very helpful, breakfast was delicious and a great variety of items, room was clean and the restaurant on site very fancy and relaxing WOW great job, I would recommend this hotel to anybody
