This was the most beautiful and luxurious hotel I've ever stayed in. The facilities were excellent, the staff were attentive and friendly. My favorite thing about my stay was the room itself and the amenities in the room. The bathroom (shared shower and large soaking tub) was a treat, especially the aromatic bath salts after a long flight. I hope to return to Kobe and stay here again!

Great staff, but failed to pick us up from our cruise ship—over an hour late so we ended up with a taxi after major language issues. Good location, but rooms are not modernized. Decent value for money but probably will try another hotel on next visit.

Great centrally located hotel in Kobe close to transportation

it was only one night stay but it was the most pleasant stay as always. the only one odd thing we saw was the homeless lady was hanging around the main entrance at night. The next morning when we were leaving, she was still there deeply sleeping on the chair. She is no harm. Kind of famous quiet homeless lady in the neighborhood without any bothersome behavior whatsoever. But still it's not great for the hotel reputation and we worried about how tourists think about the whole situation. Other than that it's always almost perfect at this best hotel in KOBE. We are so proud of ORIENTAL HOTEL.

Beautiful room, very clean. I was here for the days. I was able to work in the room. The staffs are very nice and helpful. The breakfast is definitely worth trying.

Wonderful staffs and well organized service

The location is perfect for shopping, located next to the Kobe City Museum. There is a beautiful restaurant on top, great bar and view, popular for afternoon tea. Room was immaculate, updated, with a view of the harbor that is especially great a night lit up.

This is a very nice hotel. The staff is simply excellent: accommodating, friendly, and skilled. The young barista at breakfast was truly welcoming and masterful. One small gripe: The TV and BS/CS packages at an international hotel like this one should include French, English, and other such programming.

This is one of the most fun hotels I've stayed at. I lived in Kobe for four years in the late 90s and this hotel gave me a stronger sense of the city's history than I ever got in the time I lived there. The aesthetics of the hotel channel Kobe's contemporary roots in an extremely charming way, and that's just the gravy on top of an impeccably designed and managed hotel.

This place is pure luxury. The views from the lobby and most rooms are breathtaking! The main lobby is on the 17th floor and the guest rooms are below this level. So, I highly recommend taking some pictures of the views from the check-in lobby!!!! I would classify this hotel as a western style hotel. There was plenty of room to stretch out. The bathroom was very large. There is a convenience store within 1 block in case you need to buy food and drinks. This hotel is adjacent to the Kobe Chinatown. Kobe Chinatown is an awesome street market. I highly recommend staying here if your goal is to spend time in Kobe Chinatown. The only drawback of this hotel is that there are 2 different train stations that are about 100 m apart that are confusing to navigate. I recommend doing some research about the different stations before you go. The good news is that Kobe is not a crazy crowded city like Tokyo and Kyoto. I really enjoyed visiting Kobe because I did not have to deal with the crowds. I am definitely planning to return here someday and spend several days doing sightseeing!

Very nice views from the reception area on the 17th floor. Rooms with harbor views are slightly more expensive, but it definitely has more value than the city view. A fine hotel in many aspects.

Excellent service

Hotel & staff were excellent. Located in a great area. Walking distance to China Town & numerous shopping areas. Hotel buffet is great & known for the French Toast but must order before 8 am‼️😳

Oriental Hotel is my favorite in Kobe. Charming with great ambiance and flare. This was my second or third time staying there. What I did not like at all is that when I asked for early check-in, I was told that there would be a JPY4,000 charge (!). I've traveled extensively, and nowhere in the world had I ever been asked to pay an early check-in charge. If a room were indeed available, it should be a courtesy extended to valued customers. I found it in really poor taste and not aligned with Oriental Hotel's brand.
