Anita greeted us with a big smile and offered many great tips to make our visit to Dubrovnik a pleasant one. The room was spotless and very well equipped. The grounds surrounding the hotel were very welcoming. Located across the street is a food market, bakery and a great restaurant and just around the corner (a short walk) a line of restaurants and bars with Lapad Beach topping the area off await you.The spotless promenade overlooks Lapad Beach and leads you to the Cave Bar and More Hotel which as a guest of Villa Filaus is at your disposal…a great place to have a cool drink and swim after touring Old Town Dubrovnik. Great job Villa Filaus!

We spent three nights in villa Filaus , it was amazing and rewarding. Short walking distance to beach and seaside from hotel, we enjoy swimming and sunset! Lots of restaurants to choose for the excellent local cuisine. Take couple of minutes walking to bus station and 10 minutes you will be arriving Dubrovnik! We got three days pass and living like local ! Anita , thank you so much for helping us start our long waited journey to visit Dubrovnik!

Very nice place. Easy to find. Walking distance from the bus stop. The place has been renovated and it’s awesome. The breakfast options are nice. You are giving two places to have breakfast. The first one is a 3 min walk (3 star hotel) or 15 min walk (5 star hotel).

The Villa was lovely. Beautiful modernization of a very old residence. No one was there to greet us and give check in information. To be fair, our ferry was late in getting into Dubrovnik, however, another person should have been tasked with reception.

Beautiful elegant villa, lovely condition, friendly staff, fantastic room, private parking, small pool to cool down in, seconds away from restaurants and bars and bus into Old Town. Would strongly recommend.

My favorite part of our stay at Villa Filaus was definitely the manager/coordinator Anita. She was extremely informative, kind, helpful and simply a true gem of this place. The room was modern, very clean and pleasant. There is a supply of toiletries, an iron with ironing board, beach towels with a carrying bag. The mattress and pillows were extremely comfortable. The location was perfect, just a few steps to the main promenade and not far from the beach. Breakfast was included, the issue was that it is not on site, it is a short distance to a guesthouse called Aquarius. This restaurant was very dated and the food was rather poor quality. I wouldn't recommend the restaurant to anyone.

Lovely oasis in the city. Receptionist very helpful, room a nice size with really comfy bed and pillows plus efficient a/c. As a villa, room service isn’t daily but a couple of times in the week was enough plus if you do need anything, they’ll put in an extra visit. Pool small but quiet and clean - plus you can go to the 5* sister hotel ‘More’ for full sized pool or sun bed terrace on the seafront which is lovely. Only thing not nice was the breakfast, at a nearby hotel - that wasn’t worth getting up for so we popped over to supermarket with its fresh bakery for continental with daily super fresh rolls and croissants - there’s a decent fridge in room. To be fair, I only mentioned this on penultimate day so no chance for them to rectify and receptionist was hugely apologetic however it wasn’t really a big deal and didn’t mar our stay. Location is convenient for a myriad bars and restaurants but not on main drag and is a 40 min walk from old town (or couple of mins on very frequent and late finishing bus route 6). Definitely woukd return.

We had an excellent stay! The rooms were spacious and clean. Anita at the front desk provided us with outstanding service. I strongly recommend Villa Fillaus.

Anita was very helpful and eager to assist. The room was very clean and beautifully decorated. Parking for our rental car was very convenient. Close to the promenade and restaurants. We enjoyed a lovely day at Hotel More and took full advantage of thier services. Bus stop is just round the corner so easy access to Dubrovnik Old City. The main downside was breakfast. Yiu are given token to use at hotel round the corner. I do not have problem with this. My issue was the quality and options for breakfast. Breakfast is in the basement in a very drab room overcrowded with large tables and chairs. You can sit outside but there is little shade. The pool area of the villa does not have any showers or changing area. The pool is tiny but perfect for plunging and cooling off. More could be made ofcthe gardens as they lovely but no furniture to make use of it. Overall a lovely stay.

This hotel may look far from the old city, but it is close to the most beautiful promenade I have ever seen! A short walk gets you to restaurants and beaches and a view to die for! Getting to the old city is a quick and inexpensive bus ride away. And Anita is the most gracious host who knows everything you will need to make your visit interesting and relaxing. And there is parking, which is an absolute must in Dubrovnik.

Villa Filaus is excellently located. Away from the crowds of the Old Town, yet the Old Town is very easily accessible either by getting the bus which is just a 2 min walk from the Villa, or it’s a pleasant 40 min walk, which I did often. The Villa is a few minutes walk from a lovely pebble beach where it’s possible to watch the setting sun. There’s a huge selection of places to eat, and while the main promenade which passes by the end of the street of Villa Filaus, can be a little touristy there are still some good places here & you can find many more choices away from this area with a little exploring. From the little beach or the end of the promenade you can find the walking trail around the coast of Babin Kuk which is a lovely walk. Lapad really is an ideal location for exploring the whole of Dubrovnik. Villa Filaus is immaculate whith a high standard of accommodation & service. As it is a Villa & not a Hotel there are no facilities, but the rooms do have fridges so you can keep snacks & drinks in your room. Breakfast is served in a restaurant behind the hotel, a very lovely walk through the Hotel garden, and no inconvenience at all. Anita the host at Villa Filaus went above and beyond to ensure my stay was enjoyable and to help in anyway she could. I would definitely stay here again, and would very happily recommend it to others.

We had a wonderful stay at Villa Filaus! The villa is beautiful, the staff is very friendly and incredibly helpful. When we arrived they had a map of the town ready for us, with bus information and must see activities marked right on it. It was our honeymoon and they went out of their way to leave us a beautiful note, bottle of wine and wine glasses in the room. The breakfast restaurant is right across the street and was delicious. A nice bonus to staying at the villa. There is a grocery store and bakery just across the street as well, we found that to be very convenient. The villa is in the perfect location. A quick walk to the boardwalk where there are so many restaurants and bars (more options than we were able to try!) Having access to the other Villa More that is right on the water was a huge bonus. We spent a day there, enjoying the sun and going for a swim and then had a delicious drink at the cave bar. We enjoyed how easy it was to get around and yet it was still quiet and peaceful. We enjoyed the privacy that the villa offers, having a limited number of rooms and housekeeping kept to a minimum while you are staying. Supplies were always available when needed, but the room was ours to enjoy without interruption. Each room is equipped with a keyless entry system. It was very nice not to have to carry around a key every time you leave the room. Modern rooms, with large balconies, lots of space to relax while you're on vacation. Would highly recommend!

Villa Filaus is a lovely property, the rooms are huge and have everything you could want. it is managed by the excellent Anita who is a true gem, always ready with helpful recommendations of places to eat, visit or just relax. located perfectly in Lapad surrounded by resteraunts, bars and cafes just 2 mins walk away (literally)the old town is just 35-45 mins walk away with plenty of places to stop off and re charge if you like or you could catch the bus which is right on the door step

I was pleasantly surprised by the room, it was much larger than I had anticipated! But the highlight was the service - starting before I visited the villa, and lasting throughout my stay. I felt so welcome, and I loved the atmosphere! Anita is so kind, helpful and positive, she was always available for a chat, and very enthusiastic when giving tips about possible activities in the city. She gave me, and other guests, tons of helpful tips and insight and was always happy to see us. This was my first solo trip and she made me feel safe and at home. The cleaning staff was also very nice, welcoming and service minded, I found the room to be very clean, with lots of extra towels, soaps etc. The restaurant in which the breakfast is served is just across the street, guests get a coupon for every breakfast which was very practical, especially when leaving early in the morning. I used my two last coupons on my last day by eating breakfast at the restaurant and ordering the other breakfast to go. I highly recommend Villa Filaus, and I truly believe that anyone would have a great stay there.

Such a lovely room and all of it appeared to be brand new. Shower was amazing and spacious. Staff polite. Anita on reception was very friendly and full of good advice. She is a credit to the hotel chain and obviously loves her job The hotel is in the Lapad area within east reach of the local beach and many restaurants and cafe bars, and the marina for boat/ferry trips. It’s a good 40minute walk to Dubrovnik old town up and down some gentle hills. Stay here and catch the bus rather than pay extortionate Old Town prices

We had a wonderful week at Villa Filaus. A very spacious and elegant room with a balcony. Best of the best. It´s much nicer to stay in Lapad, than in the old town. The old town is packed with people and nice to visit during the day or the evening for dinner, but not to stay there. We could walk from the villa to the old town, but that would take about 40 min and the road is not that interesting. We were instead using Uber frequently, which was very easy. Price for Uber from the villa to the hotel is about 6 Euro. It´s worth it. Anita who took care of us at the villa is a gem, extremely helpful and service minded. She gave us a lot of tips where to go and adviced us about nice excursions we could do during the week. We had a car, so we went around a lot and also visited Montenegro one day. By staying at this villa you can also use the pool and sun deck area at the More Hotel, which is 5-7 min walk from the villa. That sun deck by the water was really nice. We can highly recommend Villa Filaus.

Fantastic updated rooms. There is no elevator. Anita the Villa manager was easily accessible by phone and email. It’s a 5 minute walk to lapad beach. And a 20 minute bus ride to the old town on bus 6. A great place to stay well worth the money. A grocery store is directly across the street.

If we come back to the Lapad area of Dubrovnik, we would definitely come back to stay here! Anita, the property manager, is so kind and helpful. She arranged for transport to the airport to the property. She took time to make sure we are familiar with the area and answered all our questions. The property is located in a great area near the prominade and pickup points for many day tours. The place was extremely clean, well appointed with all the amenities. The included breakfast is across the street near the property. There is a supermarket with a pastry store across the street too. Thanks again for the great experience and stay!

Had a lovely one night stay. Loved the location—was a 40 min walk / 8 min Uber to Old Town and a 10 min walk to the beach, where there are plenty of bars and restaurants. Mara was lovely and let us store our bags after an early flight and was able to make the room available to us a bit early. Room was gorgeous and had a balcony. Plenty of amenities and super clean! (Only downside was the early 10am checkout.) Would absolutely stay again!

Lovely villa. Excellent value for money, very spacious, clean, comfy and had all the toiletries and kitchen equipment you could need. Staff very welcoming and friendly, offering her mobile number which I could use whenever I wanted incase I needed help with anything. Would definitely stay again.
