Absolute dive. Photos of property are extremely misleading. Dirty and mould in the bathroom.

Great property and price for the location. The rooms include everything you’d need to “live” for your stay. There’s a stove/oven, fridge/freezer, etc and a laundromat close by. I would happily stay here again next time I am in the area. The motel is right by the marina and within walking distance to the shops in Ucluelet. I observed motel staff painting the motel while I was there so it is clear that the management cares a lot about the upkeep of the building. Book early as they fill up fast.

Friendly staff

The accommodation was not as shown in the photos... everything was very run down. There wasn't even any water in the shower - so it was not usable. When we informed the front desk about it and asked for parts of our fee back, we were told that we probably just couldn’t figure out the use but that it for sure „functions“. There was overall little space and you could hear every little noise. Additional to all of that the space didn’t feel clean at all and we tried to spend every minute we could away to minimize the time we had to spend there.

It's our twice Family visit at this place , easy accessible to Groceries store , clean Room and quiet place to stay. Easy access to Tofino , uclulet aquarium and lighthouse must visit place.

The property is right by the water, staff was very friendly. Room was nice and clean and had plenty of amenities. Overall a fair place to stay.

I booked this room to stay with my son, I felt extremely unsafe at this property, there was multiple homeless people hanging around outside and coming out of the bushes by my room. The room was dilapidated, run down, dirty and smelled absolutely horrible. My check in was sub standard as I was told to pick up my key at the pub. I walked into the room, looked around, took some pictures and I made the decision to go book a room somewhere else. I am extremely upset that I wasted $420 on this disgusting room. I want a refund!!

The building should be demolished. There was mould in the tub, a badly stained toilet and a stain on the carpet in front of. One bed. We got a refund and went elsewhere. You obviously don’t vet what you promote. The place is unsafe.

This is no resort. It was old and run down. Dirty room, bed linen, bathroom and with paint peeling off the ceiling. We only booked this last minute because our large group needed an extra place to stay for 4 people. 2 of our group got bitten by BED BUGS, which we have pictures. I called the office when we left to report this and the manager didn’t bother to return my call. DO NOT STAY here even if it is free!!!! The booking was through Expedia and they were no help either.

We booked two days through Expedia. The pictures are touched up and very outdated. The room we were provided smelled like mold, old cigarettes and rotton meat. My wife and I wouldn't even stay the night. The beds were infested with something (bed bugs?) but we couldn't even stay an hour, we returned the keys promply went the Ukee Peninsula motel. This place should be condemed. Please don't waste your money.

We were able to check in early which was nice but once we got in the room it smelled like mold and there was a dirty dusty shirt my kids found under the dresser. We will never stay here again

The staff is very helpful, but the property is too old. The shower runs cold water suddenly, the forcet is like sprinkler. The location is convenient.

Have a great Time, clean Room, great service and Reasonable price will surely back next Time. Thanks for providing valuable information and response even when Office close for Victoria Day.

Bathroom fan is EXTREMELY noisy. The refrigerator sounds loudly as well. But the room is clean and spacious with lot kitchen tools for your convenience.

Although room was clean and adequate, resort was unkept and very run down

the place of hotel is quiet, is convenient to anywhere.

A place to sleep-nothing more.

If I was paying 80 bucks for this run down old Motel I would tolerate it way better than the crazy $230 per night. The place was probably as clean as they could get it as its just old and really run down. Seems like nothing has been renovated since it was built. I have never left a negative review of a hotel/motel ever but these things you need to know. Lots of hot water and full size fridge & stove.

The outside paint was shredded. The wallpaper was pealing. The bathroom tap was barely held on by a screw. The toilet had a huge tank. The shower was very slippery and there were no hand grips. The windows didn’t lock and the blinds didn’t work.

Property is run down, rooms are dingy, stains and cigarette burns on the sheets. While we were out, staff brought in towels and left our room open with our belongings in it.

Personal where great to deal with!

There is no staff working most days. Bed sheets were clean but lots dirt around the edges if the room and mold in the bathroom. I would recommend spending twice as much and staying somewhere else. Its a two star hotel so expect a two star experience.

We were very disapointed on first arrival. Even more disapointed inside. Complained about an 1/2" space open under door with no response.

Contrary to its rather outdated appearance, it was very nice to see bedding, kitchen tools, toilet items, and even Netflix. However, I think it would be good if only the doors and windows could be repaired.

The office is actually closed on Monday and Tuesday which is the days we stayed there...we were still able to stay at the hotel but because the office was closed you were on your own for help and service. We are not fancy or picky and have stayed at run down places before and this was what this place was. Clean on the inside but very run down. Especially the outside. Honestly it made me cringe a little. The sign is completely covered by bushes so you would never know that is where you're supposed to stay...an animal got into the garbage and there was garbage littering the lawn infront for the 2 days we were there and no one bothered to pick it up. All the paint on all the doors to the rooms were cracked and peeling off from years of neglect. Our room was clean but smelled of stale smoke so even though they say no smoking, is was obvious people do it anyway. Our TV was new, so the other review that complained about the tv wasn't working, wasn't our experience. All in all it met our needs and we had a place to crash but I just felt like the owners didn't really care about their property which was sad. If you need a place to crash isn't fine. But with the steep price of the room, I had wished they showed they took a little pride in their property.

The Island West Resort was a bit rundown but perfectly serviceable for us. We needed a reasonably priced place to sleep, with two double beds and a working TV. For the price we got exactly that - the TV was excellent once we got it to work (its a long story so just google a fix if yours doesn't show anything on the screen when you turn it on) and the beds were clean and comfy. If spending a ton of money on accommodations is your thing...look elsewhere. But we decided to put our money where our mouth is and splurged on the best meal we've ever eaten (Spoiler alert - Pluvio will ruin you for all other food!) instead of wasting it on a bougie place to sleep. We made the right choice for us.
