Not very close to town, difficult if you don’t have a car but the staff is very helpful!!

We enjoyed our stay here. The hotel was clean and the staff were very welcoming. The breakfast was the best we had in Portugal but it lacked a variety of vegan options. The rooms were nice however felt damp. The shower seemed to leak which may have contributed to that. The sliding bathroom barn door was very noisy and not ideal when trying not to disturb others. The room could have used a luggage rack and microwave.

The staff is very welcoming and accommodating. Breakfast is elaborate and delicious.

We have travelled and stayed in many places around the world. By far, this property is a gem. Several key details make Quinta da Abelheira a unique stay, starting with the staff. The front desk helped us arrange the most stupendous dinners at restaurants across the island. Not only did they easily and quickly give great suggestions, but they booked them all for us over the course of the week we were there. The second great detail is the breakfast. Not many places have daily included breakfasts with great views and a changing menu. It's one of the key reasons we booked the hotel and boy were we blown away by it. Fresh cheese, fruit, jams, and bread, not to mention on one day we had some meats they were grilling outside that morning. The room of course is breathtaking and extremely comfortable. It had two independent minisplit units (heating and cooling), fresh fruit daily, coffee, wine, and blackout shades. The grounds have gorgeous architecture, like the massive stone pillar in front of the pool. We heard the story of how that was brought in and thought it was extra cool (by crane, from the pineapple plantation next door). Finally and most intriguing is their EV van. The hotel has a brand new ID. Buzz from VW, with an onsite Level 2 charger. Coolest van ever. The cats are also nice.

Cannot say enough good things about this wonderful place. Room was gorgeous, setting and facilities are lovely, staff is super helpful. It’s just an A plus all around. Be aware that it isn’t right in town so you’re better off with a car or you can taxi — it’s not walkable.

This is a lovely place to stay just outside the main town on Sao Miguel. We loved it. The staff was warm and welcoming, and couldn’t have done more to have made our stay thoroughly enjoyable. Moura is a gem. The breakfast is fantastic, and after a day of hiking, we enjoyed relaxing by the pool. Highly recommended!

We chose azores for our 25 year wedding anniversary, the staff at Quinta da Abelheira was very helpful, helped us with car rental reservation and spa reservation. On our special day we were treated with champagne and a cake. can't wait to go back!

What an amazing hotel! The room was huge, modern, clean and full of charm. The breakfast was very fresh - almost everything was homemade and all of it was delicious. The staff went above and beyond to take care of us. Beautiful views, great location. Loved it!

This wonderful property and its charming staff were the highlight of our trip to the Azores: amazing breakfast/coffee, comfortable/clean accommodations, spectacular views of Ponta Delgada, while tastefully removed from the city.

From our arrival to our departure, our week long vacation at Quinta da Abelheira exceeded our expectations. The accommodations, staff, food and personal service were all so impressive. The location was peaceful with beautiful views. We loved it there!

Our experience was fantastic. Cant say enough about Margarida, the manager. She went out of her way to help any way she could. She picked us up at the airport and in town a few days. Recommended a local tour company for some day trips and some wonderful local restaurants. She took us to the market one morning and made us feel very welcomed. We felt we arrived as strangers and left as friends.Alexandria the chef did a wonderful job with the morning breakfast. The array of fruit, cereals, breads, jams, eggs, meats, cheeses, hot coffee and tea and a wonderful fruit drink daily, was a great way to start our day. The dining room overlooked the ocean and although November is not the best time to visit, weather wise, it was still beautiful even on a cloudy, rainy day. The grounds of the property are beautiful. Due to the time of year, we were unable to use the pool and the outdoor patios, but they would be spectacular in warmer weather. Although this property is not in the city center, we did fine without a car during our 5 day stay. Dont hesitate in booking this property when you visit San Miguel, Azores. They made sure our bathing suits were dry by putting them on heated towel rack. Such a thoughtful gesture. Cannot say enough about ending a fantastic holiday here. Much better than very bust Ponta De; Gada.

A really great hotel, welcoming staff, beautiful location, really comfortable room.

I must say, the staff and especially Margardida are the most attentive and friendly I ever encountered in all my travels. They were there for everything and anything, airport pickup, restaurant reservations, car rentals, tips on where to go, etc. The hotel is run more like a B&B, with excellent breakfast choices, no rush to get there and done in time, beautifully appointed rooms and a relaxing hang-out living room area and terrace with views of Ponta Delgada and the Atlantic. I highly recommend renting a car though to get around the island and into the 'city' as the property is a bit off the beaten path. I would go again any time, highly recommend!

Very accommodating of our late arrival. New portion of the facility where we stayed was top notch. Breakfast was very nice and well presented. Staff very friendly and helpful - even provided a free ride to the airport!

Our flight was delayed and we found this hotel,and it was fabulous,will plan to come back!!

We were here for 5 nights in July and had a wonderful stay. The location is not too far from Ponta Delgada if you have a car and it was easy to get out to the rest of the island. Our host was very helpful,as were the other people working at the Quinta. Breakfast was enjoyable and on a nice day you can eat on the patio overlooking the sea. We would definitely recommend the hotel and stay here again. Internet service is also very good.

Very much enjoyed our stay. Big comfortable room, excellent breakfast, attentive staff. The only potential drawback is the distance from town (6Km) - couldn't walk to restaurants for dinner.
