Older property. Very noisy due to street construction. Gorgeous view of waterfall. Good spot to launch to various mountains.

Room 28 has excellent view.

Remarkable hotel

Lovely preserved hotel that brings you back in time right in the middle of Lauterbrunnen. Part of the front of the hotel was used in the James Bond movie “Her Majesty’s Secret Service” back in the 1960’s. The scenery from the hotel terrace and front patio is spectacular! However, I strongly suggest booking a larger room and not the single room for 1. It was tiny and I struggled with fitting an open suitcase on the floor. The bathroom was even tinier and if you are over 6’ - you will be hunched over - especially in the shower. But the great service and super restaurant made up for it.

Was a bit disappointed to be put in a different building from the one advertised, which didn’t have the same appeal and coziness as the pictures for the advertised rooms. The staff we friendly and plenty of choice at breakfast.

Helpful front desk lady, gave us tips about which hiking trails are picturesque and easy. Our room had the window where you can see the water falls and you can gaze at the awesome Lauterbrunnen valley

Very central location. Helpful staff. Very friendly attendant at the breakfast service. Note: If you do have gluten intolerances you need to ask for cereal or bread. They do have it, just not posted anywhere.

Understanding the wonderful and unique location it is ok to charge a bit more, but honestly the price was very high. The hotel should offer better room facilities and service. The carpet and bathroom smelled old or humid. The restaurant was close so dinner options were limited. Parking in site for an extra fee was a plus.

Great location. Family owned who work very hard to please everyone. Our room was big, quiet and had a terrific view. Bathroom was dated but everything worked well. Free breakfast was very nice. Good food and bar.

Overall, we had a delightful stay at the Hotel Oberland. The staff was partichlarly friendly and helpful and the restaurant was so good, we ate there twice.

I was in a single room three flights up with no elevator. Nothing wrong with the room, just very very small, bare bones, pretty outdated.

You're in Lauterbrunnen for the scenic views and the hiking, and if you're doing it right - you shouldn't be hanging around in your room too much! That being said, this hotel is extremely outdated. I was a little taken aback at how old the carpet, bathroom fittings and furnishings are. I paid $350 CHF (close to $700 AUD) for one night, and to be honest, I expected more. This is bare bones, no-frills accommodation. The room was musty, so I left the balcony doors open all night (and I'm not usually sensitive to smells). The bathroom is insanely tiny, you can't open the door more than halfway before it hits the toilet. The shower was straight-up 1970s. There is no lift (understandable, this is an old property in a little Swiss mountain town!), but after long travel days - pulling my 30kg suitcase up 4 flights of stairs was a complete struggle. All in all, I had a good stay, I slept well, and I appreciated the location and beautiful view - but I would pick a different property for next time unless they commit to a serious renovation.

Mountain View of the Eiger with a balcony was the highlight of our trip. Stunning view !

I am very happy we chose to stay at Hotel Oberland. It is just 5 minutes walk from the train station, has beautiful views and the staff is very friendly and helpful. Food from the restaurant was great and the room vas very comfortable.

We stayed for 2 nights in October. Hotel is a short walk from train and is centrally located. Our room was a corner room with a balcony overlooking the street, and the waterfalls were literally a stone's throw away. The view over the countryside was lovely. The room was a bit dated, and on the small side, but the washroom - I laughed out loud at how small it was. You could barely get inside the room and close the door behind yourself. Not a deal-breaker, but be warned. For the price that we paid to stay here, I honestly did expect a bit better of a room, but in all honesty, I'm not in Switzerland to stay in my room.

Great place with amazing views and delicious food. The water heater failed on out last day and we had no got water, but thing happen, still amazing place.

As a solo traveler, I always look for an inexpensive and minimalistic place to stay. Hotel Oberland was ideal for cost and had just enough for the room, without all the frills! I didn't expect a terrace and I was even happier when I got one with this place! I guess it's all about the simple things for me! :)

You can’t really beat the location of this hotel. It’s very close to the train station and there is a bus stop right outside that can take you further into the valley. There are 2 buildings and some rooms have a view of the valley and Wengen, while others have a view of the iconic waterfall. Maybe request if you have a preference. The restaurant was good- make a reservation with them when you check in during peak season as it gets very busy. Helpful enough staff. No early check in. The “luggage storage” is really just leaving it in the lobby. I’m happy to hear that the property is being renovated, as it is much needed (the bathroom was updated, but the rest of the room’s decor as well as the mattress need it.)

No view at all was not stated. Also no internet and the guest service didn’t even care at all. And also mold in washroom false advertising! Washroom was the worst! Very loud noises in the morning they should be ashamed renting out something like that!
