When you arrive at the entrance to Maison Dalabua your heart skips a beat as the entrance is underwhelming. But after a few paces stepping inside the modest reception area you are led to your room through an exquisite tropical garden resplendent with lotus ponds. The room is tastefully decorated with fine Laotian touches. The patio leads out to the pool, the aircon is quiet and cool and a welcome after a two day river trip down the Mekong. The staff bend over backwards to make your stay a real five star experience. When it comes to dining you soon discover that the best restaurant in town is in your hotel. You sit at a table under the moonlight that reflects in the lotus and lily ponds. It is an oriental vision inspired by Claude Monet's Water Lillies. It is a scene so fittingly Laotian and Gallic. Come breakfast time, the same restaurant is the venue for a Laotian, French or Western petit dejeuner, enjoyed in fine surroundings with attentive staff.

The staff are very friendly and helpful. The property has a beautiful garden & pond. The breakfast variety offering is good. The walk to the night market was somewhat far. I felt the hotel was a little pricey relative to the local economy. I was charged extra to use a Visa on sight for an additional room. The room rate was the same had I booked thru Expedia & without the surcharge. I was asked to return the little complimentary coffee and tea container at checkout so they can recycle the container. the tea and coffee was placed in a little bag instead. It was the little container with the label that added memory. Again given the cost of the hotel, relatively speaking, I don’t feel that should have been an event.

We had an absolute fabulous stay at Maison Dalabua. The hotel is simply stunning – it looks exactly like in the pictures, except when you're there, you're just wowed by how everything comes together. The interior is simple with a nod to Laos culture, it feels calm and serene. You could easily not go anywhere and spend the day at the hotel. The exterior is just wonderful, you're surrounded by greenery and lotus ponds – the restaurant area is the most specular. The food was amazing, especially the breakfast, with endless options of food to choose between, where some items are different everyday, so no one day is the same. I highly recommend the rice pudding! The service was impeccable, nothing was too much trouble. The airport pick-up service was smooth, laundry was picked up promptly and returned the same day. Room was always clean and so was the overall feel of the hotel. The pool was great with towels and refreshments at hand. Enjoy between 10-2pm when it's least busy. You're a short walk from the night market and as you turn around the corner from the hotel you're on the main road that takes you down all the main attractions and restaurants. What was great is that you're so close to the hustle and bustle but then you return to this little oasis away from the noise – it's the best! I can't recommend this hotel enough, and I would 100% return in the future.

Excellent location. Beautiful property - an oasis of lily ponds and gardens with many private areas to sit. Very friendly staff who could not do enough to help. Spacious room with lovely balcony. Very good breakfast- Lao-French style. Restaurant on the property one of the best in Luang Prebang. Highly recommended hotel.

Truly amazing experience. The hotel is beautiful, the staff helpful and professional, food was truly delicious, the pool a sanctuary and NO plastic anywhere! Would definitely recommend.

Peaceful well appointed rooms, lovely attentive staff, fantastic food around the stunning Lilly pond. We had a treatment in the spa and the massages were up there with the best that we’ve had in any place around the world. Nice pool and superb location. Free bikes were a god send. Would stay here again without any hesitation

The boutique hotel was surrounded by lily ponds and bridges and very cool Laos art. So close to walk to town and the night market. Transportation to the waterfall or the airport was easy, a comfy mini-van - and all reasonably priced. The spa was magnificent - I had an excellent massage. Breakfast buffet great - excellent Lao food and they also own a nearby superb French restaurant. Check out the new not far away Tropical Mekong cafe that recently opened - the best for sunsets - and very trendy outdoor hang.

Simply a nice peaceful stay with great support from the staff. Their driver ended up taking us on a nearly full day tour of Kuang Si Falls and everything in between!

Nice property and staff, but we had the overwater bungalow and it was very noisy from the lane just outside our door. There was very little in the way of soundproofing so you could hear every conversation late into the night and every passing motorbike early in the morning. The view of the pond was obstructed by tall grasses and I felt the price for the bungalow wasn’t really worth it.

Absolutely amazing. This hotel is so much more beautiful than the pictures on the website stunning water lily ponds. The staff was incredibly helpful and friendly. The service was impeccable. The restaurant on site serves the most delicious food. This is one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in my entire life.

Amazing staff clean and stunning

A very unique setting inside the hotel property. Instead of grass courtyards, there are natural ponds with all the natural foliage. A very unique and pleasant setting. The staff was very attentive and helpful, with an excellent spa on property. A clean and comfortable pool right outside our room.

The hotel is a great place to unwind, next to its magical lotus pond. The spa is truly excellent, breakfast is very good and the restaurant serves very good lao food.

Caucasian manager was rude. Did not assist her subordinate who was so defensive for their mistakes. When documents were delivered to the front desk for guest, they kept it for days & when asked said no document despite delivery guy taking their photo eith the document!

Beautiful property with gorgeous lily ponds. Staff very helpful, breakfast nice, bikes (though not very well maintained) are available free of charge. The pool and loungers are nice, but there was no bar to order drinks from. The most important things about the hotel are the rooms — my original room was super dark and not very welcoming feeling (though it did have a nice terrace overlooking one of the ponds. The room I was upgraded to through the VIP status was fantastic, full of light and very comfortable. So I’d advise you to try to book the more expensive room types or to try to ask for upper level rooms.

The staff there and the restaurant were excellent! We loved our stay. It's about a 7-8 minute walk from the main strip which makes it more secluded but still close enough to enjoy everything easily. Hotel staff were incredibly helpful in arranging activities for us.

Gorgeous hotel, rooms and grounds. Front desk staff friendly. Better coordination needed so guests can charge pool food to their rooms. Accounting between hotel and restaurants should be solved internally and not made apparent to guests.

Maison dalabua, a 40 unit boutique hotel was built around a world heritage lotus pond. It was a beautiful, peaceful hotel with a very helpful pleasant staff. The restaurant was also wonderful. It was nicely located .3 mile to the night market & many close by restaurants.

But there should be a sign on the in room tea & coffee that you cannot take it with you, as it was very embarrassing when it was requested while checking out!. They were very tasty and I was told I could get refills anytime so I did not think it would be a problem to keep the leftovers.

Beautiful hotel that feels like a small village. It is located within walking distance of Phou Si and the night market, however it is far enough away to have some peace and quiet. Complimentary breakfast was delicious, with plenty of vegetarian options. Bicycles are available to borrow as well, if you get tired of walking.
