The a/c did make the room cool, just a little fresh. The safe box was broken and we were promised that it would be repaired soon, but never occurred

The property for what we wanted and expected was excellent, the surroundings were a little scary at first but once you were used to it, it felt safe, very well located.

One evening, when I entered the lobby with my sister and niece (who live in Madrid) to pick up a gift I brought for them, the person in charge of the night shift yelled to us in a very nasty way: "Two minutes!", as if I we were in a jail. My sister and niece were in shock.Humiliating treatment!

This is not the first time I have stayed at Hostal Maria Luisa and there are so many reasons why I return to the same place. Hostal Maria Luisa is central located, and I was amazed to see that the Hostal has been remodeled recently. All its staff is nice and friendly. Finally, the cost of your accommodation is a bargain. Please, make your reservation without hesitation, and enjoy your stay in Madrid without wondering where should you stay. in one of the most wonderful cities in the world!!!..

Bathroom super small with lot of mold in shower. Guest have not access to remote for AC/Heater. Volume for TV only 10. Guest cannot keep room key, but has to call person in charge.

Thin walls, so your peace and quiet depends on your next door neighbors, which is quite usual and common.Very pleasant and helpful hotel owners, but one of their staff certainly could be more civilized and helpful, and less loud.If her statement that the couch in the common area cannot be.used by guests, because the common area is only for luggage storage is correct, then it is very strange. The rooms are dark and have no comfortablevsitting. The couch and the common area are much more pleasant

It's a lovely little hostel in the centre. Excellent location, we walked to many tourist attractions. Staff were friendly and towels changed daily. The only thing was the wayer was a little too hot and we coukdnt change the temperature. Plus the a/c wasnt included for the price we paid, so just double check that. Overall we throughly enjoyed our stay.

Good location. However, we were not allowed to turn on the air conditioner, so we could not close the window to block out noise from the street. The noise was so annoying at night and we could not sleep well.

Clean and well-functioning hostel with a perfect location. The walls are like paper so double ear-plugs are recommendable.

Great family-run place very close to the dead centre of Madrid. Comfortable rooms, good wi-fi, and even if your room faces out onto the street, you won't hear much, thanks to two sets of double-glazed windows. Excellent value.

So many wonderful memories of this Hostal! My room was clean, offering great space for clothes, a very good bed and pillow, a small refrigerator (!!), bathroom en suite, a marvelous shower. The staff, outstanding and gracious, offering kind help when I was sick. I recommend it!!

Start with the good, great location and the woman on reception speak enough good English and is very friendly and personable. The rooms are basic but good, air conditioner ok and mini bar not so cool. Next, they don’t tell you in the info, you can not have visitors. That should be spelt out as I’m on holiday and may want to take a friend to the room I paid for.

Love this hostal, it was in the middle of everything,lost of restaurants and bars, close to the Gran Via. The staff very friendly and kind. Room very clean and cheap. I pay a good deal for my stay and for evrything it had.. Woww. Loved it. Would recommend it to everybody.

in addition to other issues, the main problem was that the hotel has no heating during december (this is what the representative in the hotel said), even though it says on the add there is.

This hotel does not allow invite guests, and for an hotel that is located in the center of the gay area of Madrid it is strange.
Every time you get into the room, or go out they check you are alone - like a big brother. For me, it was un accaptable so I left before the end of the reservation.
The location is good overall, rooms are small and old, but clean.
They have an issue with the heat - winter time and the heat is off - they said they are not opening it although in the description it says "hearting service".

Very noisy. Noises coming both from the street and the neighbors. Close to all the attractions. Not recommended if you are with a car. Room and bathroom very small.

The Hostel is located just steps from Gran Via and also inside the Chueva neighborhood, just steps away from great nightclubs, restaurants, metro stations, etc. From here you can walk to Callao, Puerta del Sol, Fuente de Cibeles. Overall is very centric. They make your bed everyday and clean up the bathroom. Also, the staff members are great and the place is very safe. Next time, i will be staying in the same place! :)

Whilst the staff were all very friendly and room was ok there were a few issues with the accommodation. It was extremely loud first of all,I could hear people moving about upstairs well until 4 or 5 in the morning and with the paper thin walls the neighbouring rooms were also easily heard when they came back from a night out in the early hours of the morning. The street noise is also very loud. So unfortunately didn't sleep well over the stay.
Room was clean enough with a basic and small bathroom. Nice living area if you wanted to get out of the room and very good location.
