Amazing leisure struture in a downtown cozy and sofisticated hotel. Great pool, fine restaurant and delicious breakfast with traditional local buffet. Three blocks from the downtown beach and 10 min by car to the airport. Two towers, number 1 a bit older yet very well manteined. Tower 2 visibly newer and comfortable. A spectacular choice in RECIFE, Brazil.

I stayed for a week in March 2020 and was assigned to tower 2, the new one. The hotel is in great location, just a few minutes to the airport and 2 blocks from the beach. This is a busy area with banks, hospitals, supermarkets and some homeless people nearby as well, but it is not a dangerous area. There is also a massive shopping mall a few minutes drive. The hotel offers great service, excellent breakfast and beautiful swimming pool. The hotel attracts mostly business traveller but I didn't find the room well adapted for business as the desk is too low and the chair is not comfortable, but it is manageable. The internet is not very fast but it is stable (I did have difficulties in the beginning but they fixed it). Many airlines also place their flight crew here. All in all, the price is reasonable and I enjoyed my stay, and I will probably stay in Mar Hotel again next time I visit Recife.

My stay was okay. Nothing fabulous, just okay. But beware of the standard rooms. They smell like mold and are with old furniture, and are poorly maintained. Definitely choose the executive room if you want to be comfortable. The breakfast is okay, serving some basic typical food for the region, but would be much better if they offered more variety of typical food.

Been there for an event and stayed for two days. Clean, large rooms, nice amenities.

We are making this our base as we come and go from Recife to visit friends and other special tourist spots it Brazil. The staff have been pleasant and helpful without being overbearing. Would recommend it to Anyone wishing to stay. Good value for money and a good location. Thanks

O Hotel necessita de um update urgente. Excelente cafe da manha. Suite bastante espaçosa.

Theres really not much to say. I´ve stayed at a number of hotels in Recife, and so far, this is the best in town. A traditional room, with excellent ac, cable-tv. The only remark however, is that there was no coffee- or watermachine in the room. Although it says so in the description of this room. There is a coffee-maker in the executive, if you relly need one... The poolarea is outstanding. You have 3 different pools: for young kids, older kids and those over 135 cm. I guess this is what seperates this hotel from some of the others. The breakfast is really nice: you get warm food if you like, also traditional tapioca ( I don´t fancy it), yoghurt, cereals, fruit of course. Just one small comment: I would like more bread integral. Theres like 10 different white breads... I can truly recommend this joint.

Beautiful balcony overlooking the city, clean room, shower with perfect water pressure. Tasty breakfast included, all at a great price in a central and safe neighborhood

This hotel used to be one of the top hotels in Recife, but has fallen into disrepair. The facilities look old, tired and in many places tatty. The rooms are outdated. I had to share my first shower with a massive cockroach, which I had to deal with before venturing inside, not to mention the mouldy grout in the shower area.With the current state of disrepair, the hotel has become a magnet for travelling salesmen in search of cheap accommodation - I have nothing against salesmen as I am one myself, but the hotel is a general disappointment and is best avoided.The wifi connection is appalling, so if you need to work during your stay, go somewhere else.I do not recommend this hotel at all.
