Room was uncomfortable in July with no AC and only a tiny window fan. No TV in room. Difficult to sleep. Otherwise quiet and pretty surroundings.

We stayed here only one night. The place is cozy and comfortable nice service, good restaurant and a wonderful beach on the lake

Loved everything about it! Loved the lake and trail, and great breakfast. And that there was an option for dinner and drinks at the Inn.

The property itself is nice and pretty, setting by a lake. However, they changed our room type from two beds to one bed.When we checked in, there are no bath amenities, and bathroom trash was not cleaned. The cold water faucet also didn’t work. Room key was not given to us either, so when we left the room we were not able to come back.

The most unique stay on our whole vacation. Great location/setting. Wish we could have stayed more than one night. Extremely fruendly staff!

Beautiful place, friendly staff, Covid aware. Bed in Smith suite was very uncomfortable, mattress needs to be changed.

Elsa and Chad are the best! :) They are the new managers of Highland Lodge, and they could not be more delightful! Caspian Lake is terrific (mere steps away), and the lodge provides all manner of kayaks, canoes, paddleboards and more. There is tennis and walking trails and every activity you and your family could want!
In the evenings, enjoy a specialty cocktail on the porch that overlooks the lake and watch the sunset. Or enjoy one of the nightly food truck options (Sunday - Tuesday) or a delicious dinner on the lawn or wander to one of the nearby "food mecca options" including the famous Cabot Creamery, microbrewery, gastropubs and more! We can't wait to return!

Perfect for a family trip off the beaten path a bit. Everyone was super friendly. Food was great at the lodge. Just what we were looking for to get away with the kids and disconnect. We stayed in a cabin and had plenty of room for a family.

It was cute in an old-fashioned way with cute sitting rooms. Yet it was modern enough with WiFi and a good bar !

I've stayed in a lot of old buildings, this was by far the loudest creaking floor ever. Combine that with a family room right above you, and the entry way right outside your poorly fitting door, and I didn't get much sleep. The upstairs rooms are probably fine.

Weather was not ideal, but the owner, Heidi was amazing and accommodating in my delay of arrival due to weather. Can't say enough about her hospitality!

Limited cell phone area as well.They lean toward a mostly Vegan menu at dinner though there are a couple of meat choices. Beautiful relaxing grounds and superb breakfast. If this is what your after look no further!

The place can use some updates. The staff is very friendly, which has definitely helped to make the place more homey

We had a great stay at the highland lodge! Breakfast was delicious, room was spacious and cozy, and the grounds are beautiful. Looking forward to our next visit!

I like everything about the place with the exception of the room we stayed in. The room was clean but the soap was weird and smelled like men’s cologne. Also the room was right off of the reception area and every time someone called or came in you could here the conversation clear as day. My husband and I woke up super early to get there like 3 in the morning early so it was not all that great to be kept away because the phone was ringing. I would suggest staying in a more expensive room to avoid being kept awake

Highland Lodge is the perfect stop for an authentic VT experience. Heidi is a very genuine and gracious innkeeper. The lake is stunning and my room was so comfortable and pristine.

Wow! Such a great experience. Owners are wonderful. The lodge itself is so cute and I enjoyed the ambiance in the shared reading and dining rooms. The breakfast was wonderful and sourced from local farms. The setting on lake caspian was so beautiful and peaceful yet still close enough (15 mins) to great dinning and brew.
