Easy check in, clean rooms, quiet hotel

Good location to restaurants and shopping and of course the University of Iowa

I expect a quick, hassle free stay and that’s what I get at every Marriott. A clean dining area for breakfast is always a plus.

The surrounding area of the property was not crowded.

Facility was clean, comfortable and close to the activity I was there for. I would have extended my stay there but they said they were unable to accommodate me. I had to move elsewhere.

The hotel was clean and well kept. It was a great place to rest after a long day of driving.

Nice room, bed was lumpy in spots and very hard in others, A/C shut off in the middle of the night, had to turn it off and back on to make it work again.

Food was horrid, nothing was prepared or they ran out of everything even bread! I mean come on you have to account for bread, Geesh, there lucky there getting a 3 star.

Property and staff was excellent. The construction by the hotel made it difficult to navigate in and out of the property. The road was closed due to construction of new hotel they are building across the street.

I haven’t stayed in a Fairfield Hotel in a few years, so not sure what to expect. In the past I have stayed in some that were run down and less than desirable, so I decided to take a chance on this one. I was very surprised upon arrival with how clean and welcoming the lobby was. The front desk attendant was quick and very cordial with getting our room keys prepared and also gave us a good recommendation for a late dinner spot. The room was immaculate and everything in order as expected. Breakfast in the morning was good and well attended by the staff member. Overall I was very pleased with the entire facility, and will keep it on my list for future travels through this area. I normally read the recommendations on hotel websites and use that information to choose where I stay, and this hotel had many positive ones, that’s why I chose it. It was a very good choice after all, and I would highly recommend this particular hotel.

Clean hotel, friendly, professional staff. When I contacted the office for more blankets and pillows, the staff brought them to my room immediately! The beds were comfortable and the shower was incredible. The breakfast looked and smelled good, although my schedule would not allow me to eat it, I’m sure it was good.

I felt like there was a smell throughout the hotel, and noticed that the floors in our room were not the cleanest

The shower was inoperable due to the shower faucet handle not working. Additionally, blood spattering on comforter and curtain. No offer by staff to refund and will not stay at a Fairfield again. Poor customer service.

The beds and pillows had a bad smell to them, the elevators were sketchy. I would not stay here again.

We stayed at this hotel in April. It had just opened. We came back because of the good service by the staff, good breakfast, and just an overall great experience. In 7 months, the conditions in the bathroom and the erratic heater function need work. To get hot water in the shower took several minutes with the faucet turned to the hotest position. Once hot water was received, the shower worked good. The trim around the base of the shower both inside and out, needs to be replaced. Amenities would have been good except for the shampoo dispenser. It was obviously full but the pump wouldn't work. Overall, I would recommend this hotel but hope they look closely at fixing these minor issues.

I stayed about a week. Three days of the stay there was almost no hot water. Had to take cold showers. Front desk said they’re sorry half the hotel is having that issue. Suggested letting it run for 10-15 minutes to draw water from the other half of the hotel. Would have been better to offer to move me to a room that wasn’t affected. The hotel was almost empty and there were plenty of available rooms. The complimentary breakfast offerings became skimpier and skimpier during my stay. By the last day there was no breakfast meat at all, only one variety of cereal, no bananas, and only vanilla yogurt. The shower door was coming lose from the wall.
