Hard to fault either the room or the owners. Nice, large, clean, well equipped room. Convenient location for both the train station and the centre of Middelburg. The service was excellent and very friendly.

Really enjoyed my stay - the location is perfect and everything is well thought-out. Very comfortable bed, functioning wifi, bike storage, supermarket round the corner, friendly welcome and quiet at night. Hope to be back!

We had a fantastic stay at this lovely hotel. The location was perfect. The owner was very kind and helpful. The room was charming with a beach theme. It was clean, modern, spacious and had extras such as comfortable sitting chairs, a kitchen and a nice shower. We were on the 3rd floor and appreciated the elevator. There was secure storage for our bikes. We also appreciated that there was laundry available. This was our 15th hotel stay on this vacation and absolutely our favourite!!

The owners of the Van Waepen are lovely and couldn’t be more helpful, the apartment was perfect and I have booked it for the rest of the year.
VRBO on the other hand were terrible!
They didn’t provide an invoice for the money they took from my company card and as this included their taxes and fees this couldn’t be reflected in the invoice given by the hotel. I spent literally hours on the online chat help trying to get an invoice and ended up having to call. This proved fruitless and very very expensive as once through to their operators in the USA they kept putting me on hold then when you thought they had finally understood their legal duty to provide an invoice for the ammount they had taken... the hung up! 3 times!
I will never use VRBO or Expedia again and have suggested to my, very very large multinational, company to do the same!

Would recommend this Hotet-apartment as it is1st class second time stay for me and wont be the last absolutely excellent.

Good position close to centre of the town. Nice room and kitchen and bathroom. Friendly and helpful reception. Paid parking close by. Because it is on the main road it was slightly noisy.

Nice en-suite apartment room, fully kitted out and right in the heart of the canal area. Lovely service and was nice to be able to cook my own food with my feet up and watch TV which had 100+ channels. Will use again.

Superb furnishings – comfy chairs, a work table, excellent bed, plus kitchen – made this a great place to get some work done on computer and at the same time enjoy the city. Great markets, historical sites, and restaurants only a five-minute walk away.

This is a new set of apartments close to the railway station in Middelburg. The room was spacious, clean and airy. It was very well fitted out with cutlery and cooking implements and had a new Nespresso machine. The double bed was comfortable. There was secure storage for our bicycles and the owner was helpful and friendly. The apartment is very well placed to explore the lovely town of Middelburg.

Assumption was room was four people however on arrival we were told to pay extra for two people, which ended up costing an additional 60 euros. Be aware and specify - how many guests are staying to stop being charged additional money

It was hot, much too hot for comfort, and better circulation would have been a genuine plus. Or air conditioning - if only an in-room one.

One of the best places I’ve stayed in. A spacious, clean, well-designed and decorated place with good facilities close to train station, canals and in the historic part of Middelburg. The owners are extremely helpful and courteous and you feel like a very welcome guest. The gift of local apple juice was a nice touch.

Lovely, clean, bright room - well equipped without being luxurious. Everything worked as it should! Slight downside is that our room was at street level, with the pavement right outside the window.

Great locatiion, a short walk into town and the restaurants. The apartment was light and airy, very clean, and felt like a home from home, will defintaley be back!
