I found that while the staff were polite and friendly, they did little to accommodate requests that are very commonly granted at other hotels of this class. The rooms are also very compact.

Loved the hotel. Location perfect for our visit to Chicago. Most of the staff was fabulous. One doorman told us we could not order and Uber to pick us up at the hotel which was wrong! Would definitely come back.

The rooms felt like an outdated dorm. Bathroom was horrible.

During my recent stay at Le Méridien Essex, I was thoroughly impressed by the exceptional service provided by Nikali and Saira, two outstanding front desk employees. Their warm smiles and genuine friendliness immediately made me feel welcome upon arrival. Both ladies consistently demonstrated genuine warmth and friendliness, making me feel welcome and at ease throughout my stay. Their courteous nature and eagerness to assist were evident in every interaction, from check-in to check-out; Nikali and Saira went above and beyond to ensure my experience was nothing short of exceptional.

Staff was excellent and friendly. The restaurant on the other hand was rude and unfriendly. After being seated had to ask for a waiter after fifteen minutes. When we walked out three staff weee standing and talking. Asked if we were leaving I replied we cannot wait the long. No explaination or apology only laughed.

Súper comfy and clean I think not too much lounging areas and small rooms but other than that everything was great

Very small rooms, good location if you are spending time in that area but would suggest a different location for downtown access.

All was fine, except the floor (laminate) wasn’t very clean.

James assisted us with our bags. He has outstanding customer service. I would definitely come again. Our first night we experienced a fight in the hallway between a mother and daughter and the mother ran to our room door . We have video footage as well. Wish they would Have got put out but they didn’t so o well.

Friendly staff, very clean, easy access to restaurants and events. Only complaint is the room we had was a full tub so no closing door for the shower. Water sprayed out all over the floor. Needed extra towels to clean it ourselves.

We stayed here because it was so close to Soldier Field where we were seeing a concert. It's also in easy walking distance to many museums, restaurants and shopping. We had great service from all of the staff and the room was comfortable. Our only complaint was that we paid a little extra for a "city view" but our room was on the 3rd floor and all we could see was the hotel across 8th street.

Comfortable beds, service was excellent. Restaurant was super convenient and descent food. Location is great for lots of things to do.

Was shocked how late housekeeping would come everyday. They would come around 4:30-5pm to clean my room. Grant Park Bistro service was extremely slow. I would have to wave down bartender to get service, even when I had an empty glass - while sitting at bar. The whole experience, made me feel less than & an unimportant guest that was last in line of service 😔

Excellent location and facilities. The manager Jesus was very polite and helped me when my glasses were broken and me being out of town had no spare pair. The bar staff, including Miguel, were very attentive. The in-house restaurant had great food and reasonable prices. The rooms have been updated with a beautiful bathroom and provided shampoo, etc. I highly recommend.

Great place to stay.....right across from Grant Park...20 min walk to Soldier Field...no messing with Uber after a show...

The hotel was fun, the restaurant was convenient, good food and service. And the Front Desk person Nikali was extremely pleasant, professional and helpful.

Nice hotel, very comfortable. Love the location. Unfotunatley, Down town Chicago is a very noisy city, must be a high crime area, lots of policy cars siren going off at night, hard to sleep peacefully.

Check in was quick but we were not given the room we booked and hotel was at capacity so we could not be moved. Disappointed in that sense, but the hotel is great otherwise.
