Bike friendly. Very accommodating. Breakfast was very good

The staff were great but we were 2 doors down from a very noisy restaurant staff and customers. My husband had to ask them to turn down the music. When the restaurant closed, the staff and friends were laughing and talking loudly. The motel didn't have air-conditioning so we had to keep the windows open.

Even though I had read many of the reviews about the Lighthouse Inn before reserving a room, I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt. Besides, it was a busy summer weekend, and I couldn't find another room available. ~ When I arrived, the man and woman on staff were extremely welcoming and accommodating to my needs, and I was pleased with the reception. The lobby, although a little cluttered, was homey and comfortable. There was definitely a vintage look that I actually appreciate, however, when I got to my room, I definitely did the "Oh, my!" type of thing. From the door, I could see the dust bunnies under the bed and the strings of extension cords giving power to everything in the room. As I walked across the floor, I could feel the grittiness of sand with every step making it slippery and unsettling. There appeared to be a nice, thick layer of dust on every flat surface, and it looked like everything could use a deep cleaning. Even though I loved the vintage green tile in the shower stall, I was put off by the thick deposit of sand in all four corners. Uhg! ~ The bed was actually very comfortable, and even though my room was merely feet from Hwy 101, I was surprised how quiet it was, and I never heard a single peep from anyone else either beside or above me.

Strong musty smell mixed with very old, stale cigarettes and rotten floor in bathroom. Couldnt get the smell out of our clothes for the remainder of our trip. Should have run when we first walked in. Unfortunate because the owners are quite nice.

Breakfast area needs a serious overhaul cleaning and upgrading.

Kitchen floor was sticky. No windows could open in the room

My husband and I stayed at the hotel for one night during a road trip. The hosts were welcoming and the location was very convenient. However, we noticed that the place is extremely dirty. The carpet in our bedroom looked like it hadn't been vacuumed in a long time. The breakfast room was also very dirty, what made it difficult for us to enjoy our food.

This hotel needs major upgrades. Furniture, tile, mirrors. The comforter smelled like urine....probably housing families going to the beach. Cleaners not laundering the comforter.

The staff was very nice and accomadating. Also the location is really close to old town and there is places to eat close by

The staff was nice but the property really needs updating. We did not get the room we booked. No AC the room was not easy to get air flow through. On the bright side they did allow pets. The room was clean. No place to hang clothes.

Historic hotel with some upgrades. Comfortable bed and very clean room.

This place is so homey.the lobby has games knick kncks and confy sofas and a large bird.there is an electric keyboard in the dining room and an old fashined waffle maker i loved.the owners were like older mom and dad friendly,nice folks

The floors creaked from then second floor.

The caretakers are pressed to their limits. No A.C in the booked room however there was an unplugged fan provided. One electrical outlet was hanging loose and everything else was plugged into another extension cord/power bar. TV kept bouncing in and out for signal. Very walkable to lovely downtown Florence which has great little restaurants and shops. Breakfast / included- was very good and casual but organized and plentiful.

Would not recommend anyone to stay there There’s no temperature control, no ac, need to cool down open a window. Built in walk heater did shut off got very hot during night

We enjoyed the stay, a little noisy the second night with upstairs neighbor. Close to downtown. Would stay here again.

We stayed here while visiting family in Florence. The motel looks okay from the front. There is a walkway around the motel but no city sidewalks out front. The walkway to the front of the motel appeared to have never been swept. Our room was out back. It was very small, maybe 12 X 16. It was clean for the most part but there were dust bunnies under the bed. The bathroom was clean but the sink was not in a cabinet. Thus, no place to put toiletries while cleaning up. There were no hooks on the wall or back of the door to hang clothes while showering or to put damp towels. There was no room service. We were there 4 nites and nothing was refreshed and the trash was not emptied. There were weeds to both sides of the motel and in the rear where we were. Some 4 to 5 feet high. You could not see the stone walkway or the stairs because they were covered with weeds. I had to pull weeds infront of our doorway in order to not track them into our room. Also, there were spider webs everywhere, even around our door. I had to take a broom to all the spider webs around the entrance to our room. The lot we were assigned for parking was littered with trash. The walkways out back had never been swept. Weeds everywhere. We saw three staff member and they were friendly. The owner set out breakfast every morning which was good. The owner should hire someone to clean up and take care of the outside of the building. Inside was okay.

Found used wash cloth in the Shower.!!! Boxes in main Area. Dusty.and just needs alot of Cleaning and Care.

Great character and wonderful staff.

Landscaping was unmaintained. Front desk area looked like a hoarder was living there. Rooms were clean but dilapidated. Staff was nice. Hotel is right on HWY 101 so if you are a light sleeper, this is not for you. You get what you pay for and this hotel is on the low end.

Room had stains in carpet. Landscaping dead or overgrown. Lobby was dusty. Front desk was a sloppy mess. Breakfast preparer didn’t wash hands or wear food handling mitts!

The carpets and windows need replacing badly. Faucets are loose. Beds were very comfortable and water pressure was great. Delicious breakfast.

The whole property was completely run down andneeds a serious upgrade. The room was dirty around the edges of everything and actual dirt.
