Location, Location, Location. This Ameriview is really close to most of Helen. The hotel is dated but is kept up well and clean. My wife and I stayed there last month and she had no complaints. My brother and I stayed there last weekend and no compaints either.
However, I made reservations for 2 rooms back in March at very good rates but in the middle of August either the hotel or Hotels.com cancelled my second room reservations without my knowledge. The room price in August was well more than double. My brother would have been fine using the second room and I have friends that could have used the other room the month before. Ironicly, I believe the hotel had vacancies each night I was there so they lost money on the rooms that they cancelled. Plus, I may not trust them or Hotels.com anymore.

Johnathan at the front was really nice, great customer service. The hotel was very close to downtown Helen, we came in for Oktoberfest. Property needs to be updated but you won't be in your room a lot so overall it was good.

The guy who runs the office John is super nice,friendly and knowledgeable about the area. They are making upgrades to the property and the rooms, John the guy who is the property showed as one of the rooms they are making upgrades too, and it looks really nice. The pool is also in the process of being updated. The beds were a little hard for my liking, but my husband Had no issue with it . Like the other guy said it’s not the Hilton, but it is still a nice hotel and I’ll definitely go back

Everything was good. Bed and pillows were comfortable. Room was clean. Looks like it had been remodeled/updated. Tub is not new, but it works just fine. No complaints; we enjoyed our stay. Hotel is right on the main road so it is easy to find. Close to shopping and restaurants; walkable. Check-in was quick and easy.

This hotel needs a redo. There are too many patches and bad paint jobs. The carpet was disgusting as was the bathroom. The air was off when we arrived and there was a smell

Staff took care of my special needs with no problem. Staff was professional and courteous. Overall better than the 3 star I stayed at previously.

The guys running the front desk were great, very apologetic with the conditions at the property. With the said, pool had been closed for 2 years due to White County regulations, according to the staff. Bathroom door wouldn't close, one of my most dissatisfied stays in a motel and ive been in close to 100 in my life.

There are so many resort hotels in Helen i believe they have a maid service problem. I liked the hotel, good value for the money. Management was very helpful when there was a problem. Hotel room and exterior looked very good, just landscaping andgrounds could use some TLC. Pool was not open, in terrible shape but would be a great asset to the hotel.

Did not stay the night. Checked in at 3:00 met friends that had traveled to the city at a different hotel. Did not feel safe at Ameriview Inn with my family. Certain observations and activities caused concerns so we left at 8:00 pm and drove home.

It says there is a pool….the pool is green with frogs in it! The first room they put us in smelled like dog pee…the second room didn’t smell but the floor was very soft and felt like you would fall through in certain areas. The shower was disgusting the shower head had mildew in it and was barely hanging on. Do not stay here!

Close enough to walk to the shops. In between restaurants. And traffic isn't loud here at night either.

I was upset that it says i could pay at check in, but he ran my card before i got there. I was paying with cash. Still hasnt been refunded to my card. The pool was not open & was green with filth. The so called continential breakfast is just waffles, apples & oranges. Had trouble with the A/C unit as well.

The bathroom needs updating and the chair in the room needs to be replaced. But I was pleased with an affordable room right on the main drag.

Hotel was adequate for one night stay. Room was clean. However, you could hear your neighbors talking. Also, was to have been nonsmoking but room had an odor.

You can hear all the noise from upstairs and from outside. The shower knob was broken and hard to adjust. There was a wet spot on floor. Beds were comfortable. Staff were friendly and helpful

Pillows were bad and room looked like it hadn’t been swept had a bleach smell. Not sure how housekeeping is done, but all we had was towels, changed, and trash, taken out other than that nothing was done.
Only positive is we were able to get our room early.

There was a smell in the room that made it difficult to breathe. After a while, you get used to it, I guess but it's still hard. I only stayed for the night. The service was good.

I do not have any complaints about the property it was clean the room was nice clean and comfortable the gentleman that checked me in was super nice. I will definitely be staying there again.

It’s an older hotel so you hear everything!

The hotel is close and convenient to downtown Helen but the hotel needs some major remodeling. If you can get past the smell and the shower curtain had old water stains. Not to mention the toilet doesn’t work properly.

This place was a dump! The bathroom was gross. The shower head was an after thought. There were no safety bars, no shelves for soap, red mold in two places. Often there was no one at the front desk. There were only two tables in the breakfast area

I like it the place , but some towel were dirty, the toilet was dirty too and the bathtub wasn’t clean enough.

To start with room was suppose to be two double beds instead when we got there it was one bed and a chair. Then we were given three more room keys to see if we wanted one of those rooms instead of the one we had. One room the lights didn’t work and there was cigarette holes in the comforter. The next room the floor was not swept and had cigarette buds in the sink. The next room smelled like an ash tray so we chose to stay in the one bed. The shower was not clean and filled the floor with water when you showered.

It was a quick and easy check in. All items needed were in the room for a quick settle in for the night. Check out was quick and breakfast was available. Very polite staff.
