Everything was perfect/ beautiful place to stay/breakfast great/ location best ever/ staff super helpful- everything was the way a hotel should be-plus your sleeping in a historic place-this is a must stay

This is a gem and the door step is right at the dome .. my option for room had a balcony which allowed for some clothes drying. The staff was awesome. The critiques: - the mattress was unevenly worn and hurt my back - the shoe drain was clogged so you are standing in soupy pool - the fenreeze like spray was very excessive and I had to discard decorative pillows and shield head board with a sheet .. eye and lung irritant levels were harsh I like this place but these thing are hard to notice unless you actuall sleep there so the staff did not know

Great location, reasonably clean, but no mirror in the room- only on top of the sink (we had a room for 3 girls - nightmare to get ready/do hsir an makeup). Breakfast very basic, but enough to get you going. Bad coffee. On the side - you can drop off the car and they will park it in garage. Staff at reception very nice

Have just returned after spending 4 nights here. I had a superior single room which was perfect for my needs. It was very clean and comfortable and I really appreciated the air conditioning. The staff were incredibly helpful and very friendly and the location couldn't have been better being just minutes from everything. I'd definitely return to the Hotel Roma if I am ever back in Bologna. Grazie for a lovely stay..

Love this hotel. The property is well maintained, and it is centrally located. It is close to the main square and plenty of shopping and restaurants.

Very clean. Tasty breakfast. Great staff who gave us loads of information. Excellent location . Walkable. Tons of restaurants and sights less than a minute away.

This hotel is in a very old building but they have updated it nicely with many modern conveniences. Breakfast was very good and the Cafe Americano was one of the best I have had.

The hotel was great! The staff was phenomenal and very helpful. The location is amazing! I cannot tell you how great it was being in the center of the city like we were with Hotel Roma. If you’re looking at hotels that are a bit cheaper but located a bit further from the square, just splurge a little and pay the extra for the location. You’ll thank yourself later. This is important especially since you’ll want to come back and use the bathroom since there doesn’t seem to be any public use restrooms in all of Europe, lol. The breakfast is very good! The only downsides of the hotel is that the room seemed a bit outdated and small, but that’s because it’s like the oldest, continuously-run hotel in Bologna, and they don’t have many options to remodel it. We will definitely be coming back to Hotel Roma for our next stay in Bologna!

Perfect location in the Center of old town Bologna. The room itself was super small, with the window into a small courtyard, so sun never gets in. Good AC, kept the room cold. Breakfast was ok, fresh strawberries but juice quality needs to be improved

Beautiful hotel with amazing history in a beautiful location. We were able to walk out from the hotel and the square was 2 minutes away. The bed was very comfortable and the breakfast and coffee were great. Our air conditioning didn't work for the first couple of hours that we were there, but the staff promptly fixed it. The only downside was the wifi was really horrible. Even when you went into the lobby it was bad. Other than that we were totally happy.

Staffs, breakfast and location are excellent. Room is dated. But we did not mind as we spent most of the time out touring.

This was a solid hotel with good staff. You can drive up to back door, where there is a reception area for cars to unload. Call ahead to reserve parking as they will valet park and return car at scheduled time. Most attractions are walking distance from hotel along with dining and shopping outside the front of hotel on pedestrian only streets. The small cafe across from back door was very accommodating as the guy who owns it is very friendly vs the larger cafe around the corner who avoided tourists. The town is working class dominated so there are some rough areas, but it was never threatening. People from bologna we met were super friendly… overall… engaging and fun to talk with once invoked.

Excellent location just off the Piazza Maggiore. Comfortable and well equipped rooms, attentive staff, good range if breakfast items, good value for money. Highly recommended for a city stay in Bologna.

Customer service upon check in was unfriendly. Room was dark and not the cleanest. False advertising from Expedia re their rooftop bar and restaurant- was not open until August. This was the main reason for booking this hotel.

Excellent location within walking distance of wonderful sights and restaurants. Our room had an air-conditioning system with a nasty high-pitched whistle, which would have made sleeping impossible. The hotel moved us to another room - the only downside was that the bathroom in that room was very small. Arrived by car at rear of hotel - they sorted out the permit for the low traffic zone and parked the car off-site, no problem. Would stay here again!

All in all it was a great experience. My only issue was with the taxi service they partner with. I felt uncomfortable and taken advantage of as a solo female traveler.

This was my first time at Hotel Roma in Bologna and I would definitely stay there again. It's a grand old hotel, but it has been updated. The staff is friendly and helpful, the rooms and common areas are clean and comfortable. The location cannot be beat! It's in the city center, everything is walkable and the dining, shopping and sights are right outside.

Good location in central Bologna. We walked from the station to the hotel. We liked being close to the city centre. Our room was comfortable and quiet. Buffet breakfast with a good choice of cereal; breads, patries, cheese, cold meats, fruit. Soya milk available.

Really nice hotel right in pedestrian old city. Restaurants all around nice staff.

Friendly staff. Solid breakfast. The hotel is conveniently located if your objective is easy movement in downtown on foot. The beds are big and comfortable but showers are cramped.

I’d recommend hotel roma to anyone staying in Bologna. Not entirely sure I’d stay here again, just cause I found the area to be too central (covered in designer stores, would prefer something more local but I hadn’t been to Bologna before). But it was clean, and the staff was nice.
