Very convenient - helpful shuttle drivers!

The front desk person, Nick, was especially friendly and helpful. He made the stay wonderful. A kind and helpful young man!

My fiance of course started reading reviews after we had already paid for the room an we were expecting a lot worse. What I loved about the hotel is it was clean, the new lounge is amazing (even though we are both in recovery) I would love to see the lounge service not just alcohol but maybe something for guests that don't drink? Other than that the one thing that annoyed me the most was that most of the time there was no one at the front desk and when there was he wasn't really into customer service for sure. He wasn't rude but he wasn't nice either. More like mediocre. I also am a housekeeper so I cleaned our room the entire time but left a tip for the housekeeper that had a way better attitude then the front desk guy!

Great place to stay

I have stayed here for at least one night for several years in a row. It holds a fondness in my heart despite the fact that it really is just a basic hotel - not fancy, but the rooms are good, the bathrooms (tubs in particular) could probably use a bit of an update on their plumbing, but the staff are nice and I like it. The space changed ownership not too long ago and they are investing in the space. There are communal spaces for hanging out outside the room, a BBQ, etc. Overall, a solid basic hotel.

We enjoyed our stay at the Baranof Lodge. We happened to have some unusually warm days when we were there and the AC didn’t work, but the fan did and we left the window open so it helped. The place was clean and even with having the window open every night, it was very quiet. And it was within walking distance to a ton of places. I would definitely stay at the Baranof Lodge again.

Old and outdated motel. Bathroom sink still had toothpaste from previous guest as well as shaving hairs on the sink. Bed linens were old and worn. Questionable if they were fresh. I would not recommend. One star is generous.

Hotel staff were very accommodating

The lodge is clean, nothing fancy. Queen bed is comfortable & there’s no room phone. There’s a small microwave that sits on top of small refrigerator. A hotel shuttle will take you to & from the airport. The free breakfast consisted of 2 dry cereal, fruit, wheat or white bread for toast, granola bars, milk, jelly & peanut butter. Staff is nice.

Staff was very friendly and helpful. The hotel has a unique little bar connected to it which has the friendly feel of sitting at someones home. They even offered samples of local smoked salmon! They could do much better with the continental breakfast. The desk clerk sincerely worked with guests to make a list of items to provide to the owner and manager.

Excellent location. Breakfast is minimal but everything else is great. Free airport shuttle coordinated with Alaska Airlines flights departure times. Will stay again.

Property is quite outdated , but clean. Breakfast options very limited

Staff helpful, especially Felecia. No elevator, no drinking classes (not even the plastic ones), no room service……sheets never changed and we had to go downstairs to get clean towels, no telephone, back downstairs to find out how to get trash cans in room emptied, we were there for 6 nights. Shower was great and beds comfortable

Great cozy motel. They staff were so nice and accommodating. Lovely stay!!

The people that work there are cool!

They had a free shuttle from the airport. Check in was easy and the young man went out of his way to help me when I forgot one of my bags on the shuttle. The location of the hotel is a 2min walk down hill to shops and habour

The toilet just needs to be fixed in the room and it would be perfect!

I walked in at midnight to check in as my flight was slightly delayed into Sitka. I walked in the reception area and found no one at the desk. There WAS someone there though, as I saw a baby stroller beside the chair at the front desk.There was also another person waiting for someone to assist them. There was a sign on the counter that read "please call for assistance, thank you -Management. When I asked the other person waiting if they called yet, they said they had and no one answered. So i tried calling 4 times. About 30mins goes by, still no one to check me in. Frustrated, i tried calling the main number in the website, not the number i was directed to call on the signage, amd someone finally answered. The man said he'd be down and sure enough, 5mins later I was checked in and ready to sleep. The rooms are old, but most of Sitka is a little dated. I also need to remember this is technically a Super 8 motel, so for that I'll give it a little bit of a pass.

The hotel has seen better days. 4 of us arrived about 11 pm. No one to check us in. Took about 30:00 to get someone.

We liked that it was close to everything

This was a last minute booking for a last minute trip, and I was pleasantly surprised! The room was exceptionally clean. I love that there were "real" tissues available. It was honestly about the small details. I did have a very early checkout, and the night clerk was obviously not prepared to see me, but that's ok. The location was great, everything in town was within walking distance. There was also plenty of parking for my rental vehicle. It was very quiet, and the bed was extremely comfortable. Would absolutely stay here again!

Friendly staff

We had to get own towels, sheets and other! No service and told we could buy breakfast down the street at the store. Did not have right type of room for 3 people and wanted to charge extra for roll away bed when we had request a room for 3 adults

Staff was Excallent. You can pretty much walk to most places

The room was on the first floor with a poor/no view. Looked at the back of a food truck.
