The manager responded immediately to our queries. The place was immaculate, with room to spare. I watched tennis from the comfort of the jacuzzi.

This property is right on the Great Bear Resort property. It’s the perfect place to stay if your intention is to hike and enjoy Starved Rock. It’s clean and has everything you need. Very spacious as well.

The area itself is a peaceful, relaxing atmosphere. The unit was clean, comfortable, and tastefully decorated. We will gladly return!

Martin's place was spacious, clean, decluttered, and it had all the amanities we needed. We did not miss anything from home. Comfortable beds, plenty of towels, and great communication from Martin. 3 minutes from State Parks, which is awesome after hiking for hours. Downtown Utica is cute and it has charm, but the food is overly priced and not that great. Drive about 5-7 mins to Sam's Pizza where you'll find a hole-in-the-wall dinner with a 75 year-old Italian man, hand-making pizza (only $10 for a large).
Overall, a good time and good experience. I would go back to Martin's place.

My husband, two sons, and I staid Thursday through Sunday and it was a great time. Location was perfect being on the ground for the resort gave us many amenities to take advantage of. One child is 12, the other turned 7 and both boys enjoyed this vacation.

Our family needed to find a place to stay that was affordable and immediate, due to loss of a family member. Our host, Martin, was very accommodating and helpful throughout this process. Our cabin was very clean and had alot of extra’s, such as a washer and dryer and full kitchen equipped with mostly anything we needed to be able to cook for all of us. The location was both beautiful and peaceful and this was comforting in our downtime, and much needed, due to the circumstances.

We spent 2 nights in Martin’s condo. It is spacious, homey, with a great location. The condo was clean, uncluttered, and had all the necessities needed which included a nice coffee maker and Keurig so you can bring your own preference. Martin was helpful and responded to any questions we had promptly. We hope to stay there again in the near future.

Came for Memorial Day weekend, and had a great time. Place was clean and very spacious. The neighborhood was quiet and peaceful. Walking distance to starved rock state park. A lot of cute local shops to check out. Great communication with host. Definitely recommend this place if you’re looking for a chill getaway. 10/10 do recommend.

We were very comfortable and could’ve brought more family. We loved the location and amenities. We didn’t cook, but there was a spacious kitchen. A perfect girl’s weekend!

The property was great and nearby local establishments were very inviting and variety of food was nice.
Check-in was not good, I never received property resort number of the villa or code to get in, I had to call the owner of the property to get all of the information needed.

Overall property was great. Fireplace in master did not work and the tv in master is very outdated. Had to move guest bedroom tv into master for picture clarity and sound. Unit does not have Tupperware or foil/saran wrap so need your own for leftovers. But overall a very pleasant stay.

My wife and I booked this property for a hiking getaway for 2 nights. We absolutely loved it and highly recommend it
Updated with a rustic feel. Extremely clean with plenty of room and amenities, and only a short walk to Grand Bear Lodge if you prefer something local for dinner at Jack's Place which hit the spot. Best yet was the proximity to the trails of Starved Rock, which is simply accessed right across E. 8th Road.
We would definitely bring our kids as well as there is plenty of exploring to do whether outdoors or at the lodge.
A perfect stay and will definitely look to book here again on our next trip!

Great location across from Starved Rock. Well equipped kitchen. Nice layout. Bedding worn but clean. Plenty of towels. Host super communicative. Definitely would recommend staying here.

Plenty of room for 5 adults, and had room for two more. Clean, cozy and convenient spot for hiking the State Park. We were able to walk to the park and short drive to dinner. Hoping to stay again.

We had two couples in our group- this location was perfect for us! We hiked all day at Starved Rock and Matthiessen State Park, then enjoyed dinner in Utica and cocktails with cards at the townhouse. We will be back!

Stayed with friends. Enjoyed hiking in the area. Spent time in Utica and Ottawa shopping, dinning and enjoying live music. The villa was clean and well stocked. Location is perfect for enjoying the area.

This was a great place to stay. We had everything we needed in the kitchen, plenty of toilet paper, etc. It was very clean, spacious, peaceful, and a great location. Wifi worked great for our devices and we had a great time relaxing.

Clean, homey, updated, well decorated and stocked villa! Stayed with my parents with my 2 kids, ages 5 & 1 and it was PERFECT! Outdoor space, 2 levels, well stocked kitchen, plenty of space to play and chat inside.
Checkin easy, Martin great to work with-prompt with responses, no complaints here!
Cannot wait to make this an annual trip.

The property was fine . . . the beds, bedding, bathrooms, and kitchen were all fine. The kitchen was a bit sparse. There was salt and pepper, and that was it. No oil, no sugar, no sweetener, no coffee, nothing else. There were no large bowls whatsoever in which to toss a salad. The other challenge was the WiFi. The password was right where the owner said it would be. However, we failed to connect it, after trying repeatedly.

Martin was VERY good at responding once we checked in. We had trouble with internet & he called Comcast out very quickly. There was no property manual in the unit which would have been helpful. Check out instructions were not posted in the unit & we had to contact Martin for details. The unit was wonderful for our family & we like the Starved Rock area. Large letter or number signs at road entries would be helpful to find the various units.

This property was close to the Starved Rock State Park and the town of utica, a big plus.
For future visits, I would recommend to the owner the following: have shower gel in the bathrooms, kleenex, and dishwasher detergent in the kitchen. We could not use the dishwasher for lack of the detergent. I washed all our dishes by hand.
We truly liked the gas fireplace in the bedroom.
