Beautiful property, hundred-year old Live Oak trees surrounding yard. Living history all thru the poolhouse accomodations, and owner shared some of the origins of home.

This property was perfect for our family vacation! The pool house was well equipped for all of our needs and wants, was exceptionally clean, and the property has the most beautiful views. Our family enjoys low key and privacy, and the pool house provided that. We truly felt at home! A big thanks to Lydia and Tom for hosting our family for the week! We'll always have fond memories of our Mississippi adventure, largely due to our experience at the Shell House Estate! We would highly recommend, and if we ever find ourselves back in Gulfport, we'll have the perfect place to stay! We miss the view already!

The pool house was beautiful. Just what we were looking for in our beach adventure. The kids loved the pool, water was warm so they never got too cold and had to get out. Yard is nice and shaded with fantastic views of the water. Beach was just across the road from the property. Could easily walk or take a short car ride to one of the east parking areas. Beach was beautiful, soft white sand. Since it is located on the sound the waves were very small which was great with small children. Would definitely recommend

We loved the pool house! The property and pool house itself were amazing. There was so much to do and see, but it was also such a relaxing atmosphere! It was honestly dreamy. Lydia provided so many things that we definitely could’ve packed much lighter. We felt very welcome and would absolutely stay here again!

It was a short stay. Clean eviroment and a coffeepot my husband loved. The pool floatees are a little past their prime as my sister in law was going to put one in a realized it has a leek somewhere

Beautiful home, pool, and property. There is one bedroom with a queen bed and two twin beds within the living room. There are also 2 cots with twin mattresses. Only small complaint is the number of chairs and furniture makes it difficult to move around at times. Otherwise amazing.

We stayed at the Pool House at Shell House Estate as a break in the middle of a cross-country camper road trip. This is one of those places that you drive by and wonder what it looks like inside because it is so glamorous and historical on the outside. Well the inside is amazing as well!! And this was just the pool house! The kitchen looks small in the pictures, but it is very well appointed with a dishwasher, full size fridge, two ovens, and about three times the utensils you will ever need. It also had a toaster oven and 2 coffee makers. The inside was just stunningly decorated - it was fun just to look at everything. Lots of instruments and Lydia invited the kids to play them. We did quite a bit of laundry and the machines worked great. We did not go to the beach because there were some storms but Lydia had a ton of beach items for us to use. She had plenty of games and fun things to do for the kids and knew what was going on in the local area that we might be interested in. The pool was a lot of fun for the kids and there were plenty of toys to go with it. I loved the property and enjoyed my coffee on the patio with a fun turtle who stopped for a visit. Comfy living room with a tv and 2 sofas. Everything was so lovely and they were such gracious hosts! Oh! Lydia found some of our son's clothing and even mailed it back to us. We will absolutely stay here again!

We had a wonderful time staying at the Shell House Pool House. The property is absolutely beautiful and well maintained. Everyone had a wonderful stay.

This was a sister’s trip & the final night of our trip. It was better than expected!!! Would definitely go back & recommend to others.

The Pool House is a wonderful place to relax. We could have had so many people visit us, with a cozy outdoor patio and so many seating combinations poolside and inside. It was just a short walk to the beautiful beach and nearby college campus. The appliances are all up-to-date, with even a built-in coffee maker connected to filtered water. Our on-site hosts were very gracious and gave us privacy to have our own space. This was our first stay in Gulfport, and we were sad we had to leave.

This was a delightful place to spend a single night on the Gulf Coast. The beach is right across the street and the grounds are pretty with stately trees in the front yard. Visitors should know that this is a pool/guest house adjacent to the owner’s main home. We slept 5 comfortably - any more than that would require some Tetris like arrangement of cots. The owners have A LOT of stuff in there that could be accidentally broken - so this isn’t the best choice if you have very young children (preschool and under) - but otherwise we enjoyed our stay.

We loved our stay. I would note the second bedroom is the living room twin day beds or the pull out couch. Never the less it would be comfortable for 2,4 or 6. Lydia was a generous host and the place is spectacular. Lots of amenities. We will be back.

The only problem with our stay is that it was only for one day and we could not fully enjoy this rental, but will definitely be back. It exceeded our expectations and Lydia was nice enough to find and mail us some items we left behind. Hope to be back soon.

The pool house was a great place to spend some time in December. We were impressed by how BIG it is, and it was stocked with everything we needed. Lydia was a great host, and we would definitely stay here again if we are in the area. My mother-in-law did not want to leave. It was wonderful.

We stopped here for 2 nights during a trip along the gulf coast. It’s a lovely, spacious unit with lots of amenities and extensive grounds. We cooked and relaxed and had a great restful stay.

A great place for a mini-family reunion for our group from all over the US

We absolutely loved our quick overnight stay in the pool house. The grounds are gorgeous, right across from the beach and next to Southern Miss Gulf Coast campus. Check in was easy. The pool house itself was so charming and eclectic with plenty of space in each of the living areas. Packed to the brim with so many books, magazines, games and movies. Even offer streaming service. The bed in the bedroom was amazingly comfortable. It was just my husband and myself on this trip, looks as if additional sleeping areas were two twin beds in the living room plus additional twin rollaway beds. Would absolutely love to return with more family members, would be a great place for holiday meal or celebration.

We had a wonderful time. Ms. Lydia is the perfect hostess. You won’t regret this amazing property in the perfect location. We definitely plan on going again.

Our family decided to venture to the Mississippi Gulf Coast for the first time as part of a last-minute summer vacation. What a little slice of paradise! Lydia was so kind and accommodating throughout our stay. Very friendly and eager to make sure everything was perfect. My wife and I visited with our three sons (10, 13, 13) and fell in love with the entire place. It is a wonderful pool house with every amenity, including a beautiful pool, pristine grounds and a short walk across the street to the Gulf of Mexico. We went across the street three times and were the only ones on the beach each time. The outdoor cooking area was well equipped, too. Bikes, games, beach equipment was all there ready for use too. We loved our stay and plan to come back soon. Maybe even book the bungalow and pool house for extended family. Highly recommend!

Beautiful house in good / quiet location and access to multiple towns, beach is across four lane hwy, pool house is tucked away from hwy. We loved the pool house as adults, but we did not think it would be wise for us to bring our smaller children as there would be lots of concerns with damaging the homeowner's fragile items. I think the house has other rooms that may not have that issue.

This is quite simply the most relaxing place. Perfect for a weekend away from the city, close to anything you need, but there is no need to go anywhere!

This place is so peaceful and home-like. You will definitely enjoy!

We took two adults and three teenage children. The kids loved being able to go out to swim whenever they wanted and feel safe. The pool had a deep end so they could dive and jump in. The beach was right across the street. You do have to cross a very busy street both ways, but it was fine. I would not recommend taking small children because of all of the breakable decorations, which are everywhere in the pool house. We only saw the owner’s dog one time. It was friendly and it was no trouble to keep the gates shut for the dog. There are books to read, games to play, tvs, and the beds were soft. We did not need to use the rollaways, however there were not many places to put them if we had. There were places to put them, however the decorations would have had to be moved. That’s my only recommendation, definitely not complaining because this place was amazing and relaxing, is perhaps a bit too much stuff for decor. (Having to move around ten decorative pillows just to sit down, and had to move some things out of the way for walking by) in conclusion, this place is worth the money and stay. The grounds are beautiful and create a very relaxing, quiet atmosphere. I would recommend this place to everyone!
