This apartment exceeded our expectations in every way. It was extremely spacious, comfortable and well-equipped. The roof terrace is enormous and provides a great view of the sea and port. The wi-fi, heating and hot water all worked well. The hosts were considerate and attentive. The location is in a historic area and there are many restaurants nearby. The neighbourhood felt safe and we had no concerns about going out in the evening. Highly recommended.

This apt is huge! The outside wrap around terrace leads you to a large rooftop terrace all your own! Giovanni is wonderful and provided us with a tour of the apt and upon entering we found wine, beer and snacks. The location is perfect! Wish we had booked it for much longer!

Giovanni and Marina are premier hosts, the apartment was super organized and equipped. Location couldn’t have been better right on edge of Old Town and on the Sea. Views were amazing and walking distance to dozens of great restaurants. Requests and responses were fast and professional. We have done many VRBO stays and strongly recommend Porta Felice!

This is the perfect place to stay in Palermo. The view from the terrace is unparalleled, the apartment is spacious, and well located to everything. The kitchen was one of the best stocked I've ever experienced in a short-term rental. Our host supplied complementary coffee, tea, crackers, wine, and generous amounts of bottled water. Our host was very communicative and responsive, arranged airport transfers for us, and was most gracious. If you are planning a visit to Palermo, the Porto Felice apartment and host cannot be beat.

Outstanding and quite large property, right on the Porta Felice with amazing outdoor space and views. The apartment is well furnished with a very high level of equipment (from the number of pillow and bedding choices to coffee machine, panini press and a huge shade parasol on the terrace. Nice high quality bits and bobs to welcome us as well (wine, beer, water, snacks etc). Everything in the apartment was of a good quality. Plus Giovanni arranged a great and well priced airport transfer for us as well. A really good choice for us - we loved it.

The house was vey nice it is full of character, you are surrounded by some lovely furniture and art. Make a.change from bland modern villas. The roof terrace is as the pictures. You are in Palermo so it was noisy but that is what earplugs are for. Host was very responsive and the building is very secure, the host and most of his family live in different apartments.

Very large flat in quiet, outstanding location in Palermo. Right on the waterfront behind Porta Felice, only a few minutes walk to the city centre. The roof terrace and surrounding balcony are huge and great for relaxing. Communication with Giovanni and his mother was outstanding, extremely friendly and accommodating. The flat was super clean, very spacious and fully air conditioned. Even water and little things were prepared for us in the fridge. It couldn't have been better, we will be very happy to come back!

Beautiful property, great location. Fabulous views from veranda. Some outside street noise at times so take earplugs if you are easily disturbed. We enjoyed exploring the city & took trips out to Cefalu (gorgeous), Monreale Cathedral & Mondello beach although the later we did find challenging to find bus stop then actually get on it! Overall though a great break & adored the Gelato.

Location, location, location!!! Best location in Palermo!! Walking distance to everything!!!! The private roof top patio was amazing!!!! Most evenings were spent up there with a bottle of wine. Giovanni was amazing!!! When I left I just walked out the door. He would not let me help with removing our trash, clean kitchen, nothing! Best trip to Italy!! Our flat was amazingly spacious and comfortable. It's location is as good as could he imagined. Hosts Giovanni is gracious, informative and ever helpful. Marina is charm itself. You cannot do better than staying here. We pampered ourselves in Palermo for a month using this as our base

The location and views were perfect. The house was well laid out and so clean. The host was very helpful and got us everything we needed. One of our friends said the view was “epic” and we agree.

We could not have asked for a more beautiful apartment in the heart of Palermo. We enjoyed every minute staying here. The apartment was extremely roomy, with many rooms, including three large bedrooms, a great kitchen, an excellent living room, and some amazing views of the sea! Not only that, but there is a balcony which leads to an unbelievably large private rooftop terrace. We had a new year's eve barbecue on the terrace and it was an experience that we will never forget. The apartment is easy walking distance from the main tourist areas of Palermo and many restaurants. It is such a convenient location! If you wish to rent a car, then it is possible to obtain a parking spot and the correct permit. The property manager, Giovanni, was extremely helpful and responsive. He answered all of our questions quickly and he made absolutely sure that we had everything we needed. He also had many suggestions for what to do in Palermo. We couldn't have asked for a better host. If you're in Palermo with a family, this apartment will make you very happy.

Wonderfully located and outfitted rental. Impromptu loud nighttime music in adjoining square made sleeping difficult for some in our party but others were unaffected. Views from the terraces were fabulous.

Wonderful terrace with view of harbour - we loved watching the cruise liners arrive and depart: very spacious, well-equipped apartment: host Giovanni and his mother Marina responded immediately to problems and could not have been more helpful. The apartment is in the Kalsa, the old Arab quarter and a great location. Lots of restaurants, bars, a Sunday Market, and museums like Palazzo Mirto, Palazzo Butera and Palazzo Abatellis are all within walking distance. If we return to Palermo we would not want to stay anywhere else!

We have used VRBO and its predecessor a lot. Giovanni is the best host we have had, bar none. From answering questions promptly, to helping us get transportation from the airport, to making accommodations for our bags as we were checking out, he always was exceedingly helpful. The pictures of the unit do not do it justice. The property is large, tastefully decorated and comfortable. The patio you see in the picture is huge and private to this unit. The location is a short walk away from a market, the pier and many excellent restaurants. If you are coming to Palermo, look no further - book this property.

I recall another reviewer saying of this apartment, "Just stop looking." I thought of the accuracy of that review several times while staying here. It's hard to imagine you'll find a better place, in terms of location and quality. Giovanni is helpful and generous. Just stop looking.

My bride (of 37yrs!) and I were almost overwhelmed by the kindness, support and grace of our hosts and their team. From the arranged airport pick-up, the drive to town (our second visit to Palermo) and arrival at the unit, we were ready for an extended sojourn into Sicilian life. Our comfort, safety and ease of living were their top priorities. As we practice a 'tread lightly' ethos, we were near food stores, a genial neighborhood, cultural sites and friendly environs. The unit is very large, is zoned for either quiet/privacy areas with plenty of doors to and has kitchen/laundry facilities. (Side note- we are shopping for a clothes drying rack! Our dryer is going on hiatus until fall/winter.) You might want to have ear plugs handy, as the areas nearby large buildings tend to amplify street-level activity. Now 2 days away from the end of our month long stay, we miss most, sitting on the balcony or terrace watching the cruise ships, fishing boats and ferries glide by; marveling at the Italian voice-actors on dubbed American TV shows; the smells/sounds of the Porta Felice, the shops on Vittorio Emanuelle, fresh brioch, elegant gelatos; good, cheap wine; a warm 'bon giorno' from Pino as we leave for a day out; precarious foot paths; NatGeo quality photo ops; vibrant and loud conversations; the four-finger Sicilian hand gesture and shoulder shrugs. Our stay was a revelation to us: that we could have so many creature comforts that our souls were able to relax, breathe and take in what Palermo offered. This, was the trip of a lifetime. This quirky apartment is full of character and history. The hosts are delightful and the terrace is an amazing place to spend some downtime. Location is perfect for sightseeing and evenings out but is quiet enough for sleeping. The apartment is well equipped, clean and well maintained with everything you need for a stay in Palermo.

We were two senior couples from UK and Canada, staying in Palermo for the first time. The apartment is very spacious, has a wrap-around balcony and a huge terrace on top with a great view of the harbour. There is a large lounge with good seating and a large TV with an Apple TV box to which you can stream video from an Apple phone or tablet. There are two good sized bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms and a third small bedroom. The kitchen is sufficiently equipped for four people and we ate breakfast at the kitchen table. There is a separate dining room where we had dinner when we ate in and we often had lunch on the upper terrace. The only inconvenience was that the water was never very hot - often only lukewarm - and it took several minutes to get any warm water to the showers. Giovanni (who lives in the building but doesn't intrude) was a perfect host and arranged our transfers from the airport and to the railway station and offered other assistance as required. All in all, this was a great place to stay and is in a perfect central location within a short walk of restaurants, street markets, a supermarket (Famila) and the major points of interest. Recommended!

Maria and her son giovanni were incredibly gracious ,kind and hospitable….they are the best hosts ever in our experience. The apartment was spacious and beautifully appointed in the best possible location. It was immaculate with every detail planned to perfection. The host was just the best attention to every detail. The apartment is very clean and well stocked with a mini kitchen like the USA. It also has a little washing machine so you can pack lite. The beds were super comfy and had nice linens. The view from the upper deck is spectacular looking at the Mediterranean Sea it is very comfortable with other side furniture. The door man was was very kind and always greets you with a smile. I would highly recommend this apartment. Also it is located on one of the main sight seeing streets. Eddie and Cheryl 9/17/2021

The flat is very spacious and offers everything that makes a stay in Palermo pleasant. The welcome was very friendly, as well as the pre-organization and the abundant food available surprised us positively. The roof terrace with its wonderful view of the harbour entrance is worth a visit at any hour. One is in good hands on the two highest floors of the house above the lively Palermitan surroundings. We enjoyed the week in Palermo and in the flat very much and will gladly come again.

I can’t think of a better situation than this penthouse apartment. The porches and decks are amazing. I am an IT Executive and we sincerely could have thrown an amazing corporate event on the top porch! 360 degrees. The hosts were incredibly helpful and gracious… stop and book this before someone does.

Giovanni arranged a car to meet us at the airport. Gaetano our driver was amazing and we used him several time during our trip. Marina greeted us at the apartment and was very through and was very accommodating when we called. The apartment was exactly as the pictures show. Amazing view and location. Couldn’t ask for anything more. I would definitely come back and book this place again.

We have just returned from a weeks holiday in Palermo staying in this property. As stated by other reviews the location is perfectly situated not only for access into the centre but also the views from the roof top terrace. It was clean and has everything you need. The owner (Giovanni) met us on arrival and provided us with a welcome pack of wine, water, milk, jam, bread, etc which was very welcome. He also assisted in booking taxi's for us on a number of occasions and helped to book sunbeds for the beach. Giovanni is extremely helpful and five stars is in my opinion fully justified. Thank you.

Two couples shared this fifth-floor flat on the eastern edge of Palermo's old city. A major road runs from the Felice Portal (in the picture) to Nuova Portal to the west. We were able to walk to most of the sites we wanted to see. Garage parking was provided for our rental car, which increased our feeling of security, and the doorman (the concierge) was a lovely guy. Oh, and there are elevators to the fifth floor. Importantly, the wifi was sufficient and free. The view from the rooftop deck was also terrific. Overall, a terrific time was had by all.

We were very happy with our choice. The apartment is beautiful but the best part is the rooftop deck. We spent mornings and evenings up there watching all the boat traffic coming in and out of the harbor. The location is perfect with an ATM right below the apartment and lots of restaurants very close by. The free shuttle for old town stops right in the driveway below. Nice place to walk along the waterfront right in front. Hosts were very helpful with transportation and questions.

We spent three nights in this fabulous apartment. The location is fantastic. We could easily walk to anything we wanted as we were actually in the "old town". So much to see and so many incredible restaurants! In addition, the marina is right across the street. Our hosts were lovely - very helpful. Arranged our transportation to and from the airport as well as a reservation for dinner our first night at a great local restaurant. The views from the apartment are fabulous - overlooking the old port gates and the sea beyond. The wrap around balcony and full roof deck are a real plus. The apartment is very spacious and beautiful. We can't thank Giovanni and his lovely parents enough for making our stay so memorable. I don't believe anyone could find a more perfect place to stay in Palermo.
