Get a glass of wine and sit out back , with the mountains and sounds of animals. There are plenty of towns to visit in the countryside or beach towns and of course the national parks. There are good restaurants within walking distance or short drive from the apartment, or you can cook your own meals. The apartment has everything you need, is very comfortable and of course Jacquie is a wonderful host. She was very helpful when we needed to plan a few trips and knows the area well.

We stayed for a week in this holiday house during the 2nd week of Sept '17). It has been mentioned already in several reviews: it has everything you would like to see when entering such a venue. A nice bedroom, with a good (though hard/firm) bed. A kitchen, a good living area and not to forget a great garden with a terrace. You can even make use of the roof-terrace, though we didn't do that. There's no airco, but a fan in the bedroom is present and you may open the windows at night. Bugs etc will stay out, since there are insect screen doors for all windows!! The hosts are most gentile, they've created a quite complete booklet with all kinds of tips for exploring the environment (hiking trips, trips by car, nice cities etc etc). Jacquie and Steven really do their utmost to make you feel at home. The Rapino town has about 5 restaurants, we tried 2 of them, ie The Garden (OK, but hardly any atmosphere) and Il Vignale (OK, but very few guests). The Abruzzen is great! The scenery is amazing, that includes the nearby Majella park, but also the Gran Sasso area is fantastic. One can also visit the coastal area, which is a drive of 30 minutes. The area is surely not flooded by tourists, though it depends a bit where you are of course. Please note that the Abruzzen area was hit several times by earthquakes, just as other parts of Italy. You might notice in some cities(not in Rapino) that there's still restoration work ongoing. Rapino itself, we found a bit too quiet, but it's just where you're looking for. But don't expect a vivid little town, it's peaceful with some restaurants and shops and that's it. There a small grocery shop nearby, which do sell fresh bread in the morning! It's a 10 minutes walk (one-way)! Enjoy the stay!

We had an absolutely wonderful time at the Majella Garden. The apartment is at once spacious and cosy, the view of the mountains is breathtaking, and the garden is absolutely idyllic in the sun. It's an easy drive to the high peaks, and even less in the opposite direction to beautiful sandy beaches on the Adriatic. Jacquie and Steve are wonderful hosts; friendly, helpful, and informative without ever being obtrusive. Rapino has a great range of excellent, very reasonably-priced eating and drinking options for a small town, and the apartment is a short, pleasant walk from its centre. Abruzzo is a marvellous area for a holiday; ideal for beach-goers, ideal for activities in the mountains and the national park. Not overdeveloped for tourism, so everything's very keenly priced. Absolutely recommended, without reservation (save that you'll really need a car).

We were so pleased with our stay in Rapino and the wonderful Majella Garden Apartment that Jacquie and Steve have created. The apartment had everything one needs to be at home while traveling plus extra care for the decor and a supper shower. This area of Abruzzo has so many hidden beauties all reachable by car. Rapino has restaurants and groceries stores close by and the residents of the area are very welcoming to the traveler. The location is close to many outstanding National Parks, hidden gems of quaint towns perched high on ridges and mountain sides as well as beautiful stretches of beaches. They are all reachable in less than an hours drive through beautiful country roads from Majella Garden. We highly recommend a stay at the Majella Garden and we hope to return that way again. Jacquie and Steve were wonderful host, providing help and knowledge to make our stay a great 10 days. Thanks to both of them. Judy and Joe

As we already knew from last year the flat suits us very well. It is nice and proper and has good space enough for two persons. The kitchen is well equipped, in the bedroom you have lots of possibilities to store your stuff and the beds are really nice. The bathroom doesn't leave anymore to wish. Everything is very good and the shower is super. Outside you find a beautiful garden with a nice breakfast spot and also a cosy part for sunbathing and reading. The place is perfect for those who want both mountains and sea and the hosts have an umbrella and sun chairs on a nice beach to let for their guests. Shops are near for buying breakfast bread and other things. In Rapino we can really recommend two restaurants: Il Viagnale, which offers, among other specialities, a wonderful lamb dish and the pizzeria Il Papi. The two brothers in the last mentioned serves a lovely liquorizia. The owners provided a very good customer service, were helpful and anxious to make the stay for their guests a fine memory. We really recommend this place!

Very enjoyable place to stay. All our dealings with our hosts were clear, accurate & speedy. The apartment is fully equipped, very well maintained & clean. There was a very generous basket of food provided on arrival. The information brochures were good & they'd taken the trouble to give detailed written descriptions of many local outings. The views from the terrace are great & the outdoor sitting areas well located. Privacy was never an issue despite the hosts living upstairs. We stayed in many places in a 3 month trip to Italy; this is one we thoroughly enjoyed.

We received a very warm welcome from the generous thoughtful hosts who have furnished this immaculate apartment in a tasteful and practical way with attention to detail in the provision of facilities for their guests. The location at the edge of the large village of Rapino at the edge of the Apennines means that there a good views over the orchard to the mountains (still snowcapped in mid May)and ample opportunity to explore the gorges, woods and mountain tops. The delightful local hill top villages compare with those of Umbria and Tuscany without their tourist pressures. The coastline is not far away too, and the hosts willingly offer their local knowledge of the best beaches, as well as gelato and places to enjoy a drin and meals. We wish every host could make as much effort to ensure their guests have a good time in this lovely part of Italy.

The proper was Excellent, Spacious and clean. We went for our honey moon and spent a total of 5 days there. The apartment was beautiful and the facility was more than what we originally expected. When we arrived there was Milk, tea, coffee and groceries there available for us to use. The beach was only a 30 minute drive away and the Snow capped mountains were also the same distance. Having the choice between spending the first part of our day on the beach and the second part skiing on snow slopes was mesmerising. Overall stay was 10/10, Definitely going again next year.

Arrived in Abruzzo late evening and made our way to Rapino but ended up calling Jacquie & Stephen as we got a bit lost! Stephen came and met us & we followed him back to the apartment which was lovely & welcoming. Everything you need is in the apartment and Jacquie made sure we had a few groceries for the next morning. We have just rebooked & we are returning next Sunday for a week house hunting.

Majella Garden was a perfect spot for us! The living between the Adriatic Sea and the Apennine Mountains was amazing, you had it both. The living was very sober and nice and the hosts, Jaquie and Stephen, so helpful and considerate. We highly recommend Majella Gardens. Having driven from Rome airport we arrived to a wonderful friendly welcome from Jacquie and Steve. The apartment is superb, modern, comfortable, and clean with all we wanted for a week’s visit. It is on the edge of the town yet close to shops and restaurants. The locals are very friendly and helpful. Near the apartment is a small bakery which makes delicious croissants. Jacquie and Steve were the perfect hosts not only running a great place to stay but also entertained us and gave us some locally grown produce. They provided plenty of information about the area and places to visit. We have stayed in many apartments in Italy and this is certainly our favourite. Rapino is lovely Italian hillside town within easy reach of the coast, mountains and lakes. Abruzzo is a great area to explore and a week is not enough so we shall return. Staying at Majella Gardens is the’ icing on the cake’ of a fabulous trip to a delightful place in Italy.

We recently returned from our second wonderful stay at Maiella Garden apartment. This time, we brought our son as well. We spent 5 glorious days in Rapino, basking in Jacquie and Stephen’s hospitality. They are very knowledgeable about the area and are always on hand if needed. Rapino is a small, friendly town, with several restaurants and markets within walking distance of the apartment. The accomodation is very comfy and spotless and has every amenity that you could wish for. It is the perfect location to explore all that central Abruzzo has to offer, with easy access to both the beach and mountains. We can’t recommend Maiella Garden apartment highly enough and encourage anyone who is interested in staying in this unspoiled part of Italy to spend some time at this delightful spot. You will be very happy that you did!

We couldn't resist coming back to the wonderful Majella Garden for a skiing mini-break. Having stayed in the apartment last June we were determined to return for more fun on the convivial ski slopes of the Majella Mountains. The apartment was fully equipped with everything we could wish for and was cosy and warm when we returned from the slopes. The ski slopes were only 20 minutes away with every amenity needed to spend a most enjoyable day. During the evenings we walked into the local village Rapino and enjoyed the gorgeous local cuisine and wine. Jacquie and Steve are the perfect hosts with a very extensive knowledge of the area which they were happy to share with us. Having stayed in the Majella Garden apartment in both the summer and winter months, this really is an all weather retreat which is a real home from home. We will definitely return in the summer for more exploring around the surrounding area. Thank you Jacquie and Steve for making our stay so enjoyable, see you again very soon.

We just spent 5 fabulous days at the terrific apartment owned by Stephen and his and his lovely wife Jacquie. The apartment was immaculate, cosy and as beautiful as its pictures. It is in a great location, within easy walking distance to town and two very good restaurants nearby. We especially enjoyed the large rooftop terrace, with its spectacular view of the Maiella mountains. Jacquie and Steve are very hospitable and constantly met and exceeded every need we could have imagined. They made us feel right at home. We came as guests and left as friends. We had such a great time that we were very sorry to leave. We highly recommend Maiella garden apartment to anyone who is interested in exploring all that the area has to offer. We will surely be back!

presence of owner living just next door become essential for our stay. their care starting from making easier to find address at our arrival to deliver us by fresh vegetables and actual maps of surroundings was well balanced with respect to our privacy. property was furnished in modern way and was absolutly clean and quiet. spatial garden was at our disposal. the place is recommended especially for those who look for authentic and romantic Italien inland with good acces to the sea and mountings. however car is very handy. rapino, town where apartement is located is a genuine sample of traditional life of small town which is still harmonised with settlement and country. we loved our stay and only regret we could not stay longer.
