Very spacious. It was great luxury to have 2 bedrooms, a living room and even a loft sitting room. The kitchen is well stocked. You don't have to worry about getting dishwasher detergent or coffee filters. My children enjoyed using the spa bath. Great screened porch that we didn't use because of the temperature.
The downsides to this stay are poor wifi and channels are not extensive. A lot of backroads to get there meant quite a travel time to Asheville.

Staff was very nice on check in. The room was a little dated but very clean. The beds were good and the kitchen had enough of everything you could need. The resort was beautiful. Be sure to get whatever you want from a full grocery store before you go there. There is some shopping but if you want something special get it before you go.

The furniture are outdated, but the beds are comfortable and plenty of space. It is beautiful wood setting. Late checking was not an issue except you really need to call the receptionists ahead since they close at 6 PM. Will definitely stay again and recommend to friends.

This is the first time we have stayed at a place like this. We didn't really know what to expect from a resort. We enjoyed all the activities that were available to us including paddle boarding, peddle boating, canoeing, kayaking, boat tours, mini golf, swimming at the beach, etc...
We will definitely tell friends and family about this peaceful getaway!

When we checked in we were informed that we would be in that condo for one day and the next morning we would have to move. The explanation was vague. The next morning we loaded up and toured about and then came back and received keys to the condo next door for the next two days!!! The one we left was never occupied! Not sure who was responsible but the staff was not very pleasant regarding the move. The condos were ok, but not special. Was hit by a golf ball driving, so be careful!

We expected a place by the water (Lake Lure, NC) but basically found ourselves at a golf condo.
The duplex--a locked door between the two units--worked out, luckily, because a party next door could have wrecked our one-night stay. We had been shifted from the original digs because the resort had overbooked. The staff was quite nice, however, at both places, bumped-from and bumped-to.
We didn't understand that we could and perhaps should have brought food to the place, but we did find a quite suitable restaurant on the resort. The duplex itself was a pleasure, as was the pool and as was the scenery. Grandson never missed the canoe!

Absolutely exceeded our expectations! Received all the amenities of the Rumbling Bald resort- multiple pools, golf, lake access, and the room was a two story town home with everything you need! What a great deal this was! Lake Lure is beautiful, but prepare for being a bit isolated... somewhat treacherous roads to get into town. Once you are at resort, you won't want to leave anyway! Look forward to booing our next trip here again!

It was great except we had tremendous issues trying to find and check in after 6 pm. Got lost went to 3 different areas. Need to be a more simple process to check in after 6.

Traveled more than an hour outside of Asheville to arrive at the resort location. The hotel furnishings were clean, but dated. However, there were multiple dead bees on the floor all over the room.

We knew we were getting a 2 bedroom place for the weekend but did nit realize it was a fully furnished condo complete with a loft. Awesome place for the money.

We were hoping for a romantic getaway from home, unfortunately we got a very stress inducing stay. We called to say we would be 15 min after the checkin time. They told us they would call back but no one did. We drove up and an official front desk employee (dressed) waved at us and drove off leaving us with no idea how to check in. It was chilly and raining. We finally found the number to security and they sent someone to try and help (15 min in the rain) He tried to help us find a room and put us in a smaller room than we paid for because that was the only keys he had. (He was an employee of s other resort and very upset at what they had done). By this time it was 7:30 and we went to restUrant to eat. Reservations only so we were sent away. We had to drive 20 min back to town to find something to eat. When we finally arrived back to our room we had a lockout unit with paper thin walls to the one atrached. The people were so loud beside us we had to call security. The next morning we went to the front desk to report what happened at checkin and there were others there complaining about the resort. They called the resort manager but she did not take responsibility for the mistake nor offer compensation. We are currently fighting that battle since we paid for a 2 bedroom unit and got a one bedroom. There are many great places in Lake Lure, don't waste your time, money or vacation time at this one

This was a weekend getaway for my boyfriend's birthday. We are both perfectionists, and were pleasantly surprised. It's more of a timeshare set up, and we loved the room. Spacious and clean. Cuisinart appliances in the kitchen. The bedroom had a screen door, and the place was so quiet through the night. We left the door open and the only noise came from the birds. We wanted relaxation and we got it! The lake is a 2-minute drive. They are in partnership with a wellness facility that has an indoor pool, corn hole games, tennis, spa, etc. VERY nice and very unexpected. Check in and check out were a breeze. My only caution is to call ahead if you booked through hotels.com. Hotels.com did not tell the resort we had paid in advance for our reservation. But on the resort side, they were MORE than accommodating. The only regret we had was that we had to leave! If you want peace and quiet and serenity, you will find it here.

Every part of my mini vacation was outstanding, from accommodations and amenities to staff support and beautiful grounds. My only regret was that I could not stay longer. I would highly recommend Wyndham Resorts.

Great apartment type room. Separate kitchen, dining room and living room. Washer and dryer and separate bedroom with king sized bed. The ONLY bad thing was the shower head which was horrible!

We enjoyed the beautiful landscaping and the good food from local Huckleberry Inn. However, when the people arrived in the overhead A unit ajoining our B townhouse unit the noise began. Heavy walking and their washing machine running early in the morning was irritating. The noise woke us early and continued until the people left for the day. We enjoyed being away from the townhouse.

Good accommodations but you have to drive to the resort with the beach and restaurants

We stayed in the B part of a lockout, which was nice enough, if you don't mind the small living area being upstairs, with everything else downstairs. Everything was quite nice, though it's well north of Lake Lure, quite a haul from attractions at the lake and in Chimney Rock. Nearby restaurants were very good. Checkout was at 10 a.m., a little earlier than expected, but overall, a very nice stay.

Very comfortable and quiet townhouse complex with pretty forest views in the mountains. Very clean/well equipped and helpful service providers. Close to Lake Lure, Chimney Rock and lots to see and and do. Near good restaurants. Has an association with a club for golf, exercise facility, boating and other sporting activities. Good pub/restaurant on the grounds.

Staff was friendly, hospitable and helpful. Lovely area, room came well equipped for whatever a visitor could possibly need.

When I booked the hotel room I thought I was booking a hotel room. The picture even shows what looks like a hotel. When we arrived on Saturday evening, the check-in was closed. Eventually we got into the lockbox and got our "package" that lead us to a condo (that is what is shown in the picture). No lobby, no room service, had to drive to everything. We had a nice time, but would not have booked it if I had known what it was ahead of time.

Not a traditional hotel more like a renting a condo. Beautiful view of golf course. Restaurants, golfing and all activities less than a mile away. Had a wonderful time.
2.0 / 10.0
Our condo overlooked the golf course and offered a nice morning view of the surrounding woods and mountain tops. The Wyndham staff were very helpful and extremely friendly. The only downside to our stay was the rather hard queen size bed (no kings avaiable at the resort), and the lack of soundproofing between us and the neighboring unit, whose laughing one night and snoring in the early morning were quite noticeable. Overall, it was a beautiful and comfortable stay. The Fairview Mountains and Lake Lure are absolutely georgous, even in November.

Check in was smooth. Condo we stayed in was nice. Had a great time. View was awesome in the area.

While the hotel itself was fine, it came up in a search for hotels in Asheville, NC. This hotel is over an hour away from Asheville and the drive was winding and difficult. This hotel NEVER should have been an option for someone looking for a hotel in Asheville.

A nice small townhouse. The only problem was we booked a king bed, but when we got ready for bed, the bed was only a full or small queen. Also, checkout time is very early at 10 am, which doesn't give you any time to do anything before you leave. The location was wonderful since we really love the mountains and appreciate the quiet and the unit was very clean.

The wife and myself took a few days for our aniversary. We nad never been to Lake Lure before. We found wyndham and decided to try it out. We both were very pleased. Good eats close by. Nothing really to do much in the winter. But that was the point of our trip. Stay in the room and relax. Thank you hotels.com and wyndham resort.

We were very satisfied with the accommodations and felt that it was a good value for the money. The condo had plenty of room.

Everything was great, the location was not what I expected. It is in the middle of no where with lots of curvey roads! There isn't much near the hotel so if you plan on a vacation that very low key and want to cook and play golf and swim, it's perfect. The space was great, staff was great. We had a broken toliet and it was repaired while we went out for dinner at the one restaurant they have there, which was great, but pricey. I would recommend this place, if you are looking for a summer family vacation and plan to cook most meals.

These rooms (villas) are privately owned and handled by Wyndham; therefore, there is considerable difference in each villa. Some are nice. Some are not. Even tho same amenities are included. I wouldn't recommend this location unless you are returning and know a specific unit to ask for.

Everything you'd want in a small package. Comfortable, clean (if a bit dated) and the only improvement would be the cleanliness deck area off the kitchen. The resort has a nice breakfast buffet and great view of the first tee on the course. Very friendly and helpful staff. The weather didn't permit us to use any of the outdoor amenities, but we'll try them on our next visit.
