My stay at the Fort Gary Hotel was at the end of a long journey. When I arrived I was greeted by a welcoming staff. The lobby was stunning as to the time era the original must have been in its day. When I arrived at my room ,once again I was astonished. What a perfect end to a long journey.
Nice friendly staff , beautiful surroundings, and all the comforts of home. Hands down one of my most enjoyable dyays

Fabulous authentic building, good location, excellent for the Forks! Staff pleasant, rooms comfortable, although thin walls, could hear quite alot going on in rooms next door. Luckily no noise at night so great sleep.

I’ve been staying at the Fort Garry for 30 years, since I was a child. It is showing its age, but that’s not my problem. It’s the awful service from the front desk. There was a loud party next to my room. It was a birthday party and it was LOUD. I let it slide because it was as 6 pm when it started, but I eventually reached my breaking point at 11:30 pm. I had to get a good night sleep as we were driving 6 hours back home. My wife calls the front desk and all they offered was ear plugs. The next morning when we checked out, they didn’t bother asking how our stay was. They asked the two couples ahead of us, but not us.
This kind of service is disappointing. I want to come back to the Fort Garry, but it feels like our business is not wanted.

Long checkin and was then given a room that had people already in it when we opened the door! What we got was two free drinks for the awkwardness and embarrassment of bursting in on another couple.

The staff was amazing and helped us sort out some issues we had with our room that we had booked as they had us down for multiple rooms. They were wonderful.

Beautiful Historic Hotel. All quests are treated top notch. Conceige service excellent. Room very nice comfortable and beautiful. Dining was exceptional! Pure luxury at a very reasonable price.

Exceptional hotel (it is a Canada National Historic Site). The interior has a nice old fashioned luxury stile which I liked very much.
Only the batroom (although very clean) is a little outdated and does not fit to the luxury design of the hotel.

Gorgeous old building with a fantastic newer addition that is period correct. Great staff. Rooms are fine, just fine. Bar is fine. Nice park across the street with a friendly dog park. Area feels safe, especially for the crime capital of Canada. Good beds and linens. No complaints.

Everything was as expected but I didn’t appreciate the front desk man not making eye contact. If he had looked at me instead of his computer screen he would have noticed that I was giving him looks that said “Quit handing everything to my husband, the reservation is in MY name.”

It's never a good sign when management tries to implement a new registration software over the September long weekend. Do better. This hotel clearly prioritizes events and weddings (as it should - it's a gorgeous landmark building!); however, that means that the guest experience is diminished in many aspects, chief among them noise and inadequate elevators. Unless you are one of those people who don't give a hoot about others and you sleep like a log through toronados, etc., don't let them put you on the 6th floor which is directly underneath the ballrooms. Also, ask to be placed as far as possible from the elevators and main central staircases. Dmytrow and Vid tried their best at the front desk to make things right for us, however, I have to wonder why things aren't right in the first place when staying in one of Canada's "great" hotels. Never. Again.

Someone left their dirty dishes outside of our room and I had to talk to three different people to get them removed. In total it took them two and a half hours to do a two minute job.

Very small room. Antique wood furnishings were ruined by painted over with a heavy coat of white paint in the room. Sad to see that.

I enjoy the history of the building and the historic qualities of the hotel. Adding that there is a park and river walk just behind and access to the Forks is walkable made the stay memorable. The only problem I had was that the TV was unable to access any of my streaming services so that we could stay in and watch a movie. It would be good to update the TV's or add a link for guests to connect.

Nice turn-of-the-century hotel architecture located in a very central location located 5 minutes from the Forks Market. Hotel was quiet from street noise. Room was spacious and clean. The bathroom was on the smaller side and could use an update at some point.
The hotel bar was outstanding serving creative craft cocktails both on and off-menu.

Beautiful old hotel. Didn’t like the extra cost for pool and facilities. Didn’t use them as we arrived at 9 and pool Closed at 10 and wasn’t worth the cost.

Our first time at the Fort Garry Hotel. It was a comfortable stay from start to finish. Enjoyed having breakfast in the Oval Room. Staff is top notch.

The rooms were dated and the bathroom shower had mold. The paint was peeling in the bathroom, and the hallways were austere. Such a shame to see this grand old hotel looking so shabby

The Fort Garry Hotel is a beautiful landmark property that has great amenities. We took advantage of their fabulous spa and we were very happy with the service there. The room was spacious with a lovely view of the city.

The old world charm of this hotel is great. It has been modernized without losing its heritage.
Staff are wonderful. The Palm room is always a gem. The hamam spa rivals ANY out there and we have been to a few. My only complaint was the bed. Old spring style which sagged in the middle. Made noise with any type of movement. The new Italian restaurant is a little pricey but the food and service are excellent and I love the romantic vibe of the place at night. We are locals overnighting after a Candlelight show there, so not fussed about touring. However, the location is great within a short walk or cab/Uber to everything downtown.

Booked this hotel for its old charm. Beautiful building but needs an update as interiors quite worn and shabby.
The bathroom's old, dated and basic. The ceiling (or plaster on the ceiling) in our room was crumbling away with pieces falling over the desk and floor.
Mattress was not great (had to move rooms twice).
Cleaning in common areas lacking...
there's a handy microwave/ice machine on the third floor - but again not clean. The microwave had food remains in there (& dirty crockery) on the shelf for the entire duration of our stay.
Gym, Spa and Restaurant are decent and would happily use those again. The bell-man (Carlton?) was friendly and welcoming.

Beautiful location in the heart of the city. The evening dining at the Terrace restaurant was divine. The live singing was amazing and set the perfect ambiance.

Very beautiful property, lots of beautiful history and charm. The room needs venting to be upgraded. Our smoke detector went off every time we showered. The service was excellent.
