Very cozy and intimate located right at the center of many beautiful parks, yummy restaurants, and unique shopping!

One of blindings was defects. Hotel put just some white bed sheets in front of the window.... In the morning at 6.00 the daylight was easily lighten the room... This is redicolous for a room at a price of 450€!!!

Danfords and the Port Jefferson area has a lot to offer. The restaurant on premises was excellent and the proximity to the Ferry to Bridgeport, Conn. is so convenient. The room was impeccably cleaned and appointed and the staff are friendly and helpful. We loved our stay and would go again.

The town is very quaint.

Our family thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The staff were all very friendly and the location is ideal right by the harbour. If possible, I would recommend a sea view room as the sunset over the harbour was fantastic.

there was a HUGE stain in the carpet, there was a very bright security light outside o. the balcony shining thru the glass door that wouldn’t turn off . the bldg across from us had 5 of those lights also shining at our door! our room was like daylight! no blackout curtain the door so we couldn’t fall asleep the w tire night!! i called the manager and they NEVER called me back. !

Wonderful iconic hotel with great restaurant bar and mega-yachts docked outside. Walking distance to lots of shops. Too bad they have no fitness room, or laundry, or breakfast.

Danford's is top notch all around. Can't wait to get back. The room was great.

It is an excellent hotel, and I recommend it to anyone traveling to Port Jeff.

Great location, large room, comfortable bed. Some parts of the property showed delayed maintenance. The pricing and availability changed hourly, so booking experience was less than ideal. Booked again already.

Location, location, location…. Old hotel, needs some pretty significant rehab but the location/price can’t be beat.

Our room was amazing. The hotel is on the water and has nice views. We were able to walk through the town, where there were many restaurants.

Staying at Danford was on my bucket list. It did not disappoint. The sunset overlooking the LI sound was memorable.

Overall its a little bit of a tired property, but they've done a good job renovating the bar and restaurant, and the staff was very friendly and helpful. I don't think management does a good job with little details though. Day 1 creamer in lobby coffee was curdled. Glasses and cans from people drinking on porch late night were still littered around at 8 am the next day. We upgraded to a junior suite...and while the room was big, half of the window shades were missing, the baseboard radiators were falling off, and the decking outside of the room was rotting...Location is great, staff great, property old and tired once you leave the restaurant.

Good hotel

Fantastic sunset from waterview room. Walk to numerous restaurants. Ferry views are great. Rooms are updated and clean with great balcony.

The property where we stay is not clean. The air conditioner is so loud. The phone is not working.

Danford's is a very pretty hotel on the Port Jeff harbor, in such a quaint town. We loved dining right on the water. The food was good, not great. After dinner, you can walk to get ice cream, or go to one of the many pubs, shops and boutiques in the area. It was a very nice date night with the hubby.

Wonderful stay and service was top notch

Danfords has many buildings on the street that house hotel rooms. So while you check in the main building; your room may be two or three buildings away. Parking pass is provided, however parking space is VERY scarce during the summer season. This is difficult when trying to get your bags (and family) to your assigned room.Definitely difficult if you have any type of disability. We had to request coffee, and bathroom products more than once, as containers were empty, or not provided. The beds are super comfortable and the room size is nice. Village view is a bit noisy, but the AC Unit at night did drown out traffic noise. Location is nice for shopping and ferry access.

I grew up on Long Island and loved to go down to Port Jeff on a summer night to walk around or get an ice cream cone. I moved out of state in 2006 so when we were booking a trip to come and visit family I didn’t just want to stay in a hotel. Danford’s was always such a nostalgic place so I wanted to stay here. So happy we did. We rented a car but only needed it on days we visited family elsewhere. Would definitely stay here again when coming to visit family on Long Island.

The room was gorgeous with a view of the Sound and a balcony to sit on for the night and morning!
