I don't want to refer to the condition of the room, but when I called reception about the problem that there is no internet and the room is frozen, all I heard not only once but more than ten times was: I don't care...

oke as business hotel

It is a fine hotel for short stays. The rooms are basic but clean. There was a bit of road noise but nothing terrible. The staff was quite helpful too.

Too basic for a three and a half star hotel. Sone staff were nice but not very helpful. Information about the nearby facilities was rather deceiving. True, the hotel is 5 minutes away from the railway station but don’t be fooled; it’s Wattenscheid station which was not mentioned at all in the Expedia website description. All my activities were based in Bochum, 10 km away from the hotel, so I spent over €120 in taxis NOT happy at all.

Rooms were big enough. Nothing interesting to see from the windows but was not expecting anything. Car park is next to Lidl supermarket so very easy for last minute snacks etc. Handy for the tram service into Bochum and also to the Veltins Arena for Schalke football. Breakfasts were good and plentiful. Bar a little short of seating for larger groups. Ideal for couples or a handful of people.

The place was pretty good considering the price. Read the fine print though, there is a €60 cleaning fee and local taxes on top of the listed price. Bring towels and hand soap, since none of that was provided. The place was clean and was in good shape. I would go back there again. We paid them in cash, but they gave us a receipt that we both signed, so I’m fine with that.

Staff knew English which was very helpful for us English travellers. Room cleaned everyday. Shower was brilliant.

Poor entrrior. No coffee offers in the room or lobby. Charge for second device connection to wi fi. No opcion to cancel after checking in. Charge to get in the room at 12PM, instead of 2pm. Room was already cleaned and ready.

Great hotel, comfortable and clean. Very good for the price paid. Would be 5 star review if not for the dinner on the first night. Really slow service and food not very good. The breakfasts were really good, so maybe if was one off.

The hotel lies close to the A40 autobahn in a quiet side street (opposite to the entrance to that side street there's a shopping centre / mall). During my stay no noise from the main street, let alone the autobahn, reached my ears. During my stay I had only one complaint - as in the two other TRYP hotels I know the mattresses are MUCH too hard for my liking. [I should add, though, that due to an accident years ago which injured my back, I need softer mattresses than most people.] My room on the (top) fifth floor was clean and gave no other reason for complaint. I didn't try dinner, but the buffet style breakfast was excellent, with a large selection. In November I'll be in a conference 20 kilometres away from this hotel, and am currently considering cancelling my booking for a hotel right next to my destination and staying instead once again in the TRYP Bochum-Wattenscheid.

Not the greatest location, but a 20 minute walk will take you to Wattenscheid station, where you can catch a train to Dortmund, Bochum etc. Actual room was large and clean, with a very comfortable bed. Only real issue was that the walls are pretty thin and it's pretty noisy at night. Local area is very quiet and safe, not much going on though.

I think the staff were very friendly and caring, what really was not very comforting was the fact that the wireless wifi was free for two hours but the meter kept running so you could not use the time effectively. Almost all hotels provide free WIFI and with whatsapp being on 24 hours it makes little sense to have two hour limit. Looks like the hotel is tuck in the old ages of 10 years ago.

My partner and I were there for 4 days to visit relatives. The staff were excellent and very helpful. The room was very comfortable, although no bathtub (which my partner was looking forward to!). We did not eat at the hotel but the menu looked very appealing and you are able to order and eat in your room if so desired. There is also a 24 hour bar.

We always really enjoy staying at this hotel, although this time there was a little dust under the bed. Staff is very helpful and friendly, breakfast buffet is splendid. We travel with a couple of young kids and for us this hotel ticks all the boxes.

Perfect hotel for attending a match at Schalke 04 FC. Bars, restaurants and direct tram all within 10 minutes walk. Our only issue was with the amount of time it took to get served in the hotel bar. Massive missed opportunity there on the part of the hotel!

service of hotel employee would possible have been better if there would not have been some errors on the advertising webside. who's to blame for it i do not know, but i was made to feel like a cheat for something i booked as advertised.

Stayed here while attending a conference in Essen. Convenient driving distance to Messe Essen. Nice, clean, simple rooms with upgrades available for coffee makers, etc. Great breakfast and very reasonable dinners in the restaurant. Would totally stay there next time I am in the area!
