The hotel was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was outstanding, and the service from everyone we encountered was professional, and courteous - top-notch. What made our stay, though, was Philip at the front desk. We had left a backpack at a museum earlier in our trip and only discovered it after closing time. Since we were staying a couple of hours away and wouldn't be back, we called the museum the next morning to have it shipped to our Oslo hotel later that week. They graciously overnighted it to make sure we'd get it in time and paid out of pocket with the expectation we'd reimburse them. Incredible, right? But that's Norway, where doing the right thing is second nature. Anyway, the backpack was waiting for us at the Scandic, and front desk staff helped us locate the museum's bank in Oslo, only bank staff wouldn't allow us to make payment (it's a looong story). Back at the Scandic, Philip heard our tale of woe and went far, FAR beyond his job duties to help us get payment to the museum. We've encountered many incredibly helpful people in our travels over the years, but this was service above and beyond. In the future, when we reminisce about our trip, his efforts on our behalf will be as much a part of our memories as viewing an Icelandic eruption, running the Stockholm marathon, seeing relatives, cruising the fjords, and standing atop the Kjeragbolten. We were gobsmacked at what he did for us. Bravo, Philip! You and the Scandic Heksfyr epitomize customer service.

The staff was very helpful. The room was clean and comfortable, though the showers was very small. We had dinner at the hotel,and the food was very good.

The room was good. The only complaint was that the room was hot. The breakfast was amazing. Definitely the best breakfast we have had from a hotel. The airline lost our luggage and they were helpful telling us where to go and using phone to make local calls.

The staffs are very good and helpful. However I did not like the Gym facility which does not have enough equipment. The washing machine area is not cleaned properly as there is bad smell. Breakfast is having very less items

We had an amazing stay at Scandic Helsfyr. The breakfast options were fantastic. The staff was very kind and helpful and even packed as a Breakfast to go when we checked out at 5 am.

A great Hotel in a Beautiful City I would recommend using the train to the Centre from the airport then taxi to the hotel.

We stayed here previously and liked it. The property has undergone significant expansion with a new building and more rooms. It seems like it is a preferred location for large groups as there were multiple buses every night, which made it very busy at breakfast. We were still easily able to get a table and the breakfast was excellent (similar to what it was previously). We had an electric car rental and there were numerous options to charge on the surface lot and in the garage. We would definitely stay again in the future (I grew up in Norway so we tend to visit every couple of years). The location is easily accessible by highway.

This hotel was great close to the city center with lower rates. Just need to plan and map out your daily public transportation-suggest getting the Oslo Pass. Only downside with the summer heat is their ac not blowing hard and need to open the window to help cool down but everything else was 5 stars!

Reception team was excellent and cordial. Check-in was very easy and the room was excellent with the facilities and Clean... Though it was 30 mins away from the city by public transport, that did not matter for us, finally had a wonderful sleep... Excellent breakfast menu... Enjoyed my 1 day stay and would definitely recommend to my friends and family

Nice stay. The hotel cleaning staff were way too busy. They forgot a few things (to fill up toilet paper, a wet rag in the room etc.). But they were very nice but just seemed too overworked.

I was a bit turned off by the negative reviews left by some of the other hotels.com reviewers. I booked the hotel anyway because it was close to my client's location. I was quite pleased and would stay there again. Professional and efficient staff. Spacious room. Easy access to downtown Oslo, just 8 minutes walk to T-Bane station + 10 minutes to center, and trains run every 3-5 minutes (and they are cheap for me, >65). Good internet connection.

I do not recommend this hotel if you are hoping to explore downtown Oslo as it’s not in a city center. However, like in other Scandinavian countries, public transportations including buses are timely and very efficient. Front staff can be very helpful. Hotel has a restaurant but not that great. Not many restaurants nearby. Room is very small so was shower. People there were very kind and pleasant, like so many in Norway.

Fair business Hotel. Quite a bit of construction sites nearby, they start working at 07.00. Breakfast was excellent. Wi FI worked well
