There were parking places named « only for hotel guest » but the small stop-park could not be unlocked by staff ! So why ??!!! So we had to go to the public pk near the hotel. I would rather prefer had my car in the courtyard… well, this should be done… or take off the signs ??!!! Otherwise, a second coffe machine for breakfast buffet is needed : there was a technical issue and everyone had to wait and queuing.

Nothing wrong with the property. Stayed here to see a football match in Gelsenkirchen. Very close to main train station, which is why we stayed there. As with most train stations, the surrounding area was so-so. Was in late June and weather was warm and there was no air conditioning. There was a window that opened but it was noisy outside from traffic. Again, though, not a bad place--we paid more than usual because of the football tournament but at the normal price it would be fine.

Close to train station for the euro cup match. Would have preferred ac in the room. We had to keep the window open and it was noisy. Ambulances, traffic, etc…

Worst hotel experience - ever. Have paid for stay in advance but must pay for parking via the card terminal at check-in. Afterwards, the receptionist takes my card and has to enter my card number on his PC. I immediately ask for the card back and clearly state that I do not want her to register my Visa card in their system. She hears that while she tells me that she doesn't care about my opinion and that I can just complain. No prior communication or controversy. Fine another hotel

The staff was excellent. They accommodated us with special requests and seemed to be intent on offering pleasant service. The hotel location was an easy walk to a main pedestrian street with plenty of cafes and restaurants and shopping. The room was clean. And the (paid) breakfast was excellent.

Great price and location, perfect option in Gelsenkirchen

Front desk staff cheerfully relocated me to a room on another floor when my room became uninhabitable because of cigarette smoke from another room (it's a non-smoking hotel). Hotel location couldn't be more convenient to the main train station. The operations won't dazzle you with their efficiency (some harmless and readily corrected missteps involved things like not where it should be and miscoded keycards), but it the hotel is in good condition, and the included breakfast isa a plus.

We visited for the Guns n Roses concert at the Veltin Arena. This Hotel is perfectly situated for events at the Arena and a visit to Gelsenkirchen by train. Very close to the main station so our arrival after flying to Dusseldorf was really convenient. The same station is also the one for the train out to the Stadium - so perfect. Good bar and an amazing free breakfast (really surprising for a budget hotel) Definitely recommended

We enjoyed staying to InterCity hotel as it is close to all public transport, (main train, suburbian Underground train & buses). It is also a walking distance to the main shopping centre. All the staff are polite & they try to go out of their way to help us. Breakfast are wholesome. We will come back to this hotel next time & we highly recommend this hotel to our friends.
