The hotel is very nice but a short walk away from the center. The Grill was not open during our stay so can't say anything about it but the breakfast buffet was really good.

The property itself is absolutely stunning. Charming and old world, Italian and beautiful.
The staff was very friendly and helpful. I felt like they had my back as I navigated this new country.
The free breakfast was phenomenal. The creamiest parm I've ever had, the best coffee - the food was quite noteworthy and we looked forward to breakfast each day.

We caught Covid on the flight over and had to quarantine- most hotels were understanding and were cooperative in canceling our reservations but not this one. Maybe they preferred we stayed there and spread Covid to their guests and staff !

Excellent welcoming and excellent service with only 1 bump at the I never expected to pay $115 euro for a taxi when a taxi from Milan to the hotel cost me only $35 euros on a Friday night traffic and it was far - they never told me it was going y be that much until
The driver charge me I think is absolutely insane no matter the time it was at 5 am not my first taxi on the world more $$ than Dubai is just a bad reputation

Very nice hotel, with well maintained garden. The staff was very friendly and made sure we enjoyed our stay. The restaurant was excellent, excellent food, wine and service. Definitely a place to visit again...

Since 2 years the personnel interactions with guests and the overall hotel service quality has improved dramatically. I feel the service level now is equivalent to top 5 star hotels in India, Dubai, Thailand, etc.
However the restaurant experience can still improve. The wine and food portions are exceptionally small and has a big mismatch with prices.

Property is beautiful. Wood paneling and eclectic decorations. A little bit of a walk to stores and other restaurants. We were fortunate enough to have the room with a terrace directly over the front door. Breakfast was plentiful with a variety of foods. Coffee is served by the staff, so if you want a second cup you need to flag them down.

The reception staff were amazing! In the other hand in the dinning room was a lady wearing a mask that was not helpful at all and was kinda rude.

The most friendly and attentive staff I have ever encountered. They are always so kind and willing to help. There isn’t anything they won’t help you with.
The Derby Grill is excellent. Our server, Roberto, was OUTSTANDING!
The bartenders, staff, front desk, everyone was stellar. Would definitely stay again given the opportunity.
The down side?? The stairs and elevators are a little confusing! But not a big deal.

Beautiful hotels, with fantastic decoration, very clean, excellent breakfast.
Mattress are old and not comfortable. As it is an old hotel , moving inside is not easy.
Receptionist should be more flexible at check in time when hotel is empty, which was my case.

This was my 2n stay at HDLV and it was as delghtful as my first. The staff is top notch and were always available to help. Staying at HDLV is a vacation in and of itself!

Lovely hotel with beautiful lobby and dining room. We got upgraded but that meant to be moved to villa next door and the room looked like it had seen better days.... very surprised by old pillows- hard as a rock AND rips on the pillow cases.... that's not what you expect from "luxury hotel". Breakfast was disappointing as well, very little food served by server - even if I wanted to take all 4 mini mozzarellas left(!) I wouldn't get them...
Will we stay again? Sure we will but in the main building, requesting new pillows, etc... and without breakfast.

We loved this hotel. Very well located, just 10 minutes walk from the center of town. The staff super nice and kind, from the front desk to the housekeeping and the restaurant. We had a great experience. The bed was very comfortable and the room always clean and spacious.

It was a fabulous hotel with simply the best service. They hotel staff are just so warm and accommodating. Maurizio (and his colleague in the morning)at the front desk went out of their way. Breakfast was outstanding. The rooms are quirky old style ostentatious but very comfortable. Shame it was just a night stop to Tuscany and we didn’t stay longer.

I was taken aback because it felt like the description was simply not correct- this property is NOT located in a park. It is, in fact, right at the corner of a VERY busy and VERY noisy intersection. It’s not really a big problem and can be dealt with but I feel like they should be upfront about it. I also could not locate their “garden”. Maybe I didn’t look hard enough. Either way. Please be honest about things. Thank you.

Beautiful room and hotel. Breakfast was very nice. Tried a few things from the lunch and dinber menu, it was ok but not what I would expect from a 1-star Michelin restaurant. My favorite was the strawberries with the fiordilatte ice cream.

Nice hotel with real character, in a good location 15 mins walk from city centre and free parking. On the negative side staff were unhelpful, and certain elements had a somewhat tired appearance.
