Location is poor but service and hospitality was great

Great hotel, it's far from city center but is a good option if you have a car. Close to FICO. Rooms are large, clean and very comfortable.

Very good hotel, excellent staff. Only needs fresh fruit at breakfast then it would be perfect.

Away from center, but public transport convenient. Not enough fruit and vegetables at breakfast, but large variety of baked goods. Building is old, and staff are friendly.

Very good choice for a business trip. The hotel is in the outskirt of Bologna. The neighbourhood is not the most beautiful they can see. Anyway the rooms are comfortable, everything clean, breakfast tasteful, all the service is actually OK. Worth to recommend as value/price ration is good.

Modern hotel on the outskirts of Bologna. You would need a car but this hotel has safe, free parking and is just a few minutes' from the airport. (There are no obvious petrol stations at the airport so fill up the night before if you have booked full to full.) It was a modern, clean room with a 'minibar' type fridge and range of toiletries. They changed the sheets each day. I did book in advance but it cost about £70 for 2 nights B&B for 2 in a double room. Breakfast was very good, help yourself and a full choice of cereals, sweet cakes, croissants, fruit, a hot choice (boiled eggs and frankfurter type sausage) and a drinks machine offering all the types of coffee and hot chocolate. Took about 10 - 15 minutes to get into the centre of Bologna. Parking in the centre is difficult and quite expensive so it was good to have free overnight parking at the hotel. Pleasant staff and service. Great value basic hotel to stay at before going to the airport. No dining facilities in the evening.

I chose Hotel Imperial because of the close proximity to the fair. It's just 4 km away roughly and an easy drive or taxi ride. The people are very friendly and the entire hotel was very clean and safe. The only negative was the bed being a bit too stiff for me. All in all it was a good value considering Fiera.

If you looking for a cheap stay in Bologna, I can definitely recommend this hotel. It has a bus stop in front of the hotel and takes ~20min to the center, every ~20min even during the night. Stayed only one night so no clue what's around the hotel, but given the short ride to the center you don't have to care much. The room itself was a bit tiered, but have seen worse and survived, the main point it was quite clean and the bed was good to sleep on. Breakfast isn't anything special, more basic, but you won't be hungry.

Perfect location, perfect services

This was a one-night stay for three people in a tiny room. We dropped off one person at the airport early the next morning. There was a gym, and the breakfast was plentiful and fresh. There were walking and bike paths outside of the hotel although the area is not scenic. Staff was friendly and helpful. Candy platter at the front desk which is a nice touch. Lobby had a TV and there are a number of areas to linger and wait. Outside chairs and tables of the hotel were sparse. This area could be improved. We liked the bathroom products provided.

Would really recommend the Hotel Imperial. Breakfast was superb.

Overall, Hotel Imperial is a very nice hotel, both the rooms and breakfast were good. Although, it was a comfortable stay, the receptionist Ioli was very rude. We were given a room that smelled of smoke. However, we requested a smoke-free room when we reserved a room. She refused to change the room. She ended up giving a new room after giving us a hard time. She was also caught talking about bad about us with her other co-workers in Italian. Since, we are spanish we understood because of the similarity in language.

Kind staff, clean hotel. You have to take a bus from Central Station to the hotel. A little weakness to me was the location. Most of the buses in Bologna pass by Central Station. However, this hotel being distanced from the Central Station, you have to transfer to another bus if you want to visit another side of the town rather than having a one time shot.

The Hotel Imperial does what it says on the tin!Bit further out approx 15 Soros by taxi to city centre but buses run regularly from outside hotel 1.5 euros.Just make sure you have correct change for bus driver does not issue tickets or go to Tabacceri to get ticket.If we had known this would have saved us a fine! Reception staff very helpful. Breakfast ok but no evening meal available and d I didnt see bar open in evening or many other guests! Would stay here again.

- Wonderful staff, good level of English, tried to help at all times - Quiet, safe and secluded location with an excellent pizzeria nearby (Rococo) - No.25 bus directly outside - 15 min ride into centre for $1.50 - Very clean room with good amenities, could be a little better but good quality overall - Free breakfast 7-10am, lovely food with a brilliant range for vegans and gluten free eaters - Sound-proof rooms so not noisy at all - Lighting system a little strange - have to keep key card in wall at all times to ensure lighting

Booked a standard room but they gave me the economy room at the beginning. Good thing is the staff was helpful in switching my room, but the wifi reception in that room was a disaster, couldn't receive any signal at all. However the bed was quite comfy and breakfast was nice. Didn't really like the location coz it would nearly take up an hour everyday to go in and out the city center, even though the bus stop is just right outside the hotel. Other than that it was a pleasant stay.

Very retro hotel but all in fine working order .Staff excellent and helpful. Wonderful breakfast in a room with panoramic views of the little city. Away from hustle and bustle of Florence but close to visit some really cool other sites like Siena and Voltera. It is difficult to find nearby parking so be prepared to work around that.

I must say,I was very pleased with this hotel.The staff is really friendly and helpful,the food is great and very tasty. I must say everything was amazing.The rooms are very clean and tidy,the cleaners are doing great job:) I would recommend this hotel to anyone who likes Italian cuisine and loves drinking Italian coffee. I must say,there is a tiny gym there and it's very nice. The food is soooo delicious:)
