This hotel is staffed by caring people, who always make my wife & I feel looked after. We have stayed 2-3 times each year for a number of years now and enjoy the peace and quiet, however the price of accommodation has risen sharply since Covid as lots of places have, and the bar now shuts at 9pm along with a lack of attention to sunbathers at poolside so getting food / drinks was very difficult at times- I think the increase in prices should mean that there is more attention for residents poolside and bar / room service should be extended to 11pm

This is a fabulous resort in a beautiful area. Great golf course, scenic location, professional and hospitable staff, excellent dining. We are recommending it to all our golfing friends and look forward to returning!

While not having a restaurant in the hotel the golf clubhouse served really good food and at reasonable prices.

No room service, internet did not work in the room and no fix possible, staff did not know what they were doing, very bad value for money, definitely not 4* more like 2* would never stay again

Lovely hotel, great views, decor, people, bed & breakfast.
My only suggestion is stock your mini bar, rather than just having water there as we were there during the pandemic with limited room service.

Very private quiet location a short distance from the center of Marbella.
With less than 30 rooms in an upscale golf course neighborhood, we enjoyed the serenity and excellent weather in the foothills of this magnificent part of the world.
The staff was outstanding and accommodating. On a special note; Andrew at the front desk was a natural innkeeper. He treated us as guests in his home!

I expected to hire clubs at the golf Hotel as part of the Golf Hotel hospitality as I was travelling with family and would have used the facilities as and when. I was quoted Hiring charges of Eur 65.00 per day when one would have expected Eur 65.00 per week!
Golf Club hire is available on line from company that would deliver and collect the clubs at a reasonable rate. Unfortunately, did not realise till late.

nice but not 4 star. you need.a car. course is nice but tees in poor condition. hotel lacks facilities like concierge, business centre etc. nice room but no tea or coffee. service in golf club was poor.

Unless you really like saying in a really busy town, then this hotel is for you. Small, but big enough to care. We are not golfers, but it looked a great course to me. Hotel is very "homely" with a real charm. The buffet breakfast was our only meal taken at the hotel, but good choices and adequate. Drinks are reasonable for this type of hotel in a very expensive resort. Only real moan would be, no free bottled water in room ( €3 for a small bottle ) and no facility to make tea or coffee in the room. No where nearby to go, so you are trapped. Would defiantly go back if in Marbella again.

We arrived early evening. Reception staff very welcoming. Took us to our room which was beautiful. Inbspain for 6. Day road trip to celebrate 25th wedding anniversary so a great start.

The Rio Real is a beautiful hotel, in a beautiful location - Our spacious, luxurious room overlooked the golf course. The pool is idyllic for couples; surrounded by lime trees in clay pots, with comfortable wooden-framed loungers on the decking. The food is truly delicious and presented with artistic flair. A decadent holiday .... We'll be back ... Soon!

We had a lovely 4 day break at the beautiful Rio Real hotel and have to admit we really enjoyed it despite not picking up a golf club at any stage! The rooms are wonderfully spacious, the pool area is a little oasis (and not much frequented by fellow guests, which made it very peaceful) and the bar serves up delicious drinks, snacks etc. Breakfast I have to say was also brilliant with plenty of hot & cold options all served at your table.
Just a short cab ride into Marbella makes this a perfect location just a little way out of town, just enough to give you that feeling of space (and with the golf course all around views are stunning) Just down the road is the Trocadero Arena beachclub too - a great place for sunset drinks and a smart dinner - recommended.
All up a brilliant place for a break in the sunshine. We'd hope to come back.

rooms are spotless, towels white & fluffy, food excellent & staff very friendly especially Nacho on reception.
