Great location! Walking distance to pubs, shops, etc. very safe and quiet area.

I stayed here with my wife and toddler while the hotel was undergoing a renovation. Not only did we not notice the renovation - it was one of the nicest stays of our entire trip. The room was spacious, giving us plenty of space to spread out. There were even some extra things I didn't expect, for example a toddler sized rocking chair in our room, and a putting green. The hotel staff was attentive, accommodating, and extremely friendly. The hotel was clean, quiet, in a great location. I would love to stay here again someday!

Maria was a fantastic hostess and couldn’t have been more welcoming and professional. She took care of us from check in till check out. The hotel was absolutely gorgeous. Hope to return one day.

Beautiful hotel but check in was bit bumpy. Arrived late but no staff to assist with bags and real confusion on valet options for car. Staff was friendly enough but did not seem to understand the process. Just a tick off our experiences at other fine Irish hotels. Just needs to button up their procedures a bit!

The Great Southern Killarney is an absolutely BEAUTIFUL property! The staff is OUTSTANDING ~ so friendly, so helpful, and very polite. They go above & beyond their "job descriptions" if that makes sense. LOL!

By far the BEST Hotel we stayed during our vacation in Ireland. everything was perfect. the staff was very professional and went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed. the parking was convenient and right next to the hotel property. we walked everywhere in town. the Hotel has a very nice bar with live music. would stay there again and will for sure recommend to anyone traveling to Killarney.

Loved every minute of our stay here. Staff were super friendly and the room was so comfortable. Food was really good and the bar staff were great craic and made great cocktails!

Great Hotel

A wonderful, stately, grand hotel. Probably the best hotel outside of Dublin. Well trained staff was friendly, courteous and efficient. Located close to everything. Just a fantastic experience.

After the initial mix up with the room, and a prompt for a cup of tea while we waited for them to ready a ready. The room was adequate, twin beds pushed together - obvious by their fixed to wall headboards. The pool was overrun with children, jumping in and throwing a mini rugby ball at pace across the pool. Fireworks for a wedding that night were and added bonus and the hotel had thought ahead to pre-warn and invite viewing. Not a 4 star hotel but adequate.

The hotel is beautiful! All of the front desk staff and most of the restaurant staff are service oriented. The bellman directed to us to a ramp so we could bring our own suitcases up. Once inside, the hotel had bellman take our luggage to the room, once it was ready. It's easy walking distance to town, even for an older person like myself. It's refreshing to have a large parking lot in which to park adjacent to the hotel. The breakfast was very nice, but I would have liked an omelet option. Dinner was delicious. Overall, we were vey happy to have stayed there in such a beautiful hotel.

Outstanding and walk to everything

One of the best hotels I’ve ever stayed at. Not the most expensive or the fanciest but the service and staff were exceptional.

We had a wonderful stay if only for 2 nights . The room was terrific as was the food . But what really made the difference was the staff . They were by far the most friendly and accommodating that I have come across and were what made the stay out of the ordinary.

Amazing hotel. Clean, quiet and so central to Killarney.

The staff were friendly, warm and welcoming and the hotel itself was very well presented. There were plenty of hand sanitisation stations dotted throughout the public areas which put my mind at ease during my short stay in the hotel. (September '20)

Only fair to be honest!!! Having booked one of their (on site but away from the main hotel) apartments for a family stay-cation, we were all very underwhelmed with the quality of the rooms and decor. I get the whole covid compliance thing, but this experience went to the extreme. The "Queen-Size" bed was just two singles pushed together and the main bedroom completely lacked character (starting with nothing on the walls). I hope you are an early riser...if not, the fact that there are no drapes in any of the bedrooms, the sunrise will have you up and doing nice and early (pic taken before 8am). Failing that, the railway station tannoy from right next door will more than get you moving!!! My family and I have stayed at this hotel many times in the past, without complaint. The staff are fantastic throughout, nothing is ever too much to ask. These "apartments" are more suited to business centre type use, keep doing what you do best with your hotel rooms. At €500 per night, there must be better than this.

Superb stay and the staff couldn’t have been more friendly

The main lobby is beautiful with a touch of modern however it only goes as far as lobby and bar. I found the room uncomfortably warm for the 2 days we were there with the window open as far as it could (4in) the entire time. Staff were nice and wore masks the entire time. we ate at both the bar (Brownes) and restaurant (Garden Room). Chowder / soups were same in both. The Garden room was very expensive for food that was of just of pub quality.

The room was on the older side of the building & had fixtures falling out of the walls , the mattress needed to be replaced , and the lights in the bathroom needed replaced as they were burned out ! For this caliber of hotel - they missed the mark . I love this hotel and hope they fix this soon
