The property/service/staff does not live up to the usual Kempinski standard. The signature smell of this property is an ever-present somewhat coal-like smoke from the fireplace - starting with the lobby and affecting the outside.

Kempinsky in High Tatras is one of the most beautiful hotels out there. It’s absolutely stunning with the most amazing surroundings and the friendliest and most helpful staff. We have stayed here few times before and definitely will be back. The presidential apartment is very very special. Almost forgot to mention the stunning Zion spa.

My wife and I stayed Grand Hotel for the first time but have previously been to the Presov region. We found that the service from all of your staff including but not limited to; Valet parking / luggage carriage support, reception, bar and restaurant staff including during the breakfast buffet, housekeeping, spa and all were professional, courteous, supportive and always welcoming. It was what we were expecting however and under the circumstances with travel whilst the covid pandemic is still present, were pleasantly surprised that your attentiveness, covid restriction management and service was extremely good. The quality of food in the restaurant was exceptional. The staff at the Spa were supportive and welcoming. The support from all at reception and valet / door person when we had a "situation" with misplaced car keys to help us to take our additional PCR test at Dom Seniorov was very much appreciated. The Hotel and local area is beautiful and tranquil and it is a wonderful place to come to experience nature, wonderful surroundings, amazing views, attractive buildings and can be equally suited to romantic or activity based or relaxing getaways. and all of the above reaffirms our interest to travel to stay at the Grand Hotel Kempinski, High Tatras again (hopefully soon).

We had a fabulous week. The hotel is amazing and located in a beautiful place. Great staff made our visit special.

We stayed in the honeymoon suite which was huge and lovely, however the stairs to the jacuzzi on the roof were a bit scary. Service on the whole was excellent, they catered for all our needs, we used the spa and had an excellent Tower Dinner. Could do with more vegetarian options on all menus.

AMAZING HOTEL. Actually perfect and great value considering the experience and the spa!! Beautiful in every way with great service and honestly didn’t pay that much as booked in advance!

We go every winter to this hotel 1-2 times for many years and this year first time i feel maybe we should change place. We asked for king size bed we got 2 small beds and the room was smaller and very different than we always had. but at the end we changed room they had one other room . this time were in hotels only couples with small kids so every day we woke up because the neighboars were so noisy their kids. in hotel is beautiful spa but we couldnt rest and relax because all the time we had to hear crying or shouting kids so many were there. Simply this hotel starts to be that noisy famil hotel . Breakfest is very good but years before we had meals there and we enjoyed i think they changed chef maybe the food we had was just bad not tasty. And this year they put parking for 30 euro per day and u have to park yourself and look if there is place around the road if u find a spot.

I would say the staff should be more attendance to details and bit more friendly. I get sometimes they are busy but still , some friendly smiles won’t hurt

Beautiful hotel. Amazing staff! This hotel is extremely expensive so you would think there would be basics in the room like coffee maker, tea... No there is not such a thing. The other bad thing was, we booked deluxe rooms with lake view. The room was in the roof with tiny window so there was no view of lake unless you put chair at the window and claimed out on the roof. And because of the tiny windows the room was very dark and dingy. So I don't understand why you pay for lake view when you don't have one. I would expect much more if I pay crazy money for the hotel.

From we entered the door at the hotel until we left the service and facilities was 10/10. The spa is amazing and the food and wine in the restaurant is high class. We are looking forward to come back soon!

I stayed at the hotel with my wife and 2 year old boy for a week in May whilst visiting Slovakia for a friends wedding. The hotel is excellent, of a very high standard, fantastic facilities, superb service and great food. Rooms are large and comfortable, again with very good facilities.The hotel and staff are very welcoming and cater excellently for young children who are allowed in the swimming pool until 8pm. Toys, crayons and paper were put out at breakfast time to keep them entertained, and there is a small indoor area with toys to play with and our son loved playing in there during our stay.

Classic hotel on the shore of the picturesque Štrbské Pleso, Nice facilities; SPA, restaurant, Cafe / bar, reading room etc. Good hub for traveling around in both higher Tatra and lower Tatra.

This is a really great hotel - some hotels are 5 star but don't live up to the billing. This hotel really meets the grade. Staff are wonderfully helpful (and almost universally English speaking) and the facilities are great. Make good use of the wonderful spa facilities while you're there. Food's great, views are great - basically it's all great. The village of Strbske Pleso is a bit of an Iron Curtain era monstrosity of civic planning, and it doesn't help that the skyline of imposing mountains is rather dominated by two abandoned ski jumps, but the lake (Pleso) itself is lovely, as are the High Tatra mountains that are right there. All the hikes are really well marked so give them a go. Be aware that this is a 5 star hotel so a beer or G&T at the bar will be the same price as in a bar in London. If you're short on spending money, there are bars in the village and you can get a pint of local beer for 1 Euro!

It's pricy, but everything here is done to perfection. Staff are attentive, friendly, chatty and smiley without exception. Our room was spotless and the breakfast buffet is top notch. The ski resort is 10 minutes away on foot, across the frozen lake from the hotel. We also stayed in a slightly cheaper 4 star hotel locally and the Kempinski was worth every penny of the price difference and more. Very good indeed.

It's a wonderful hotel in every way in a beautiful part of Skovakia. Great place to stay in luxury and enjoy the outdoors and this great hotel with a terrific spa While I was not there for the ski season it is certainly in my plans in the near future and the hotel has great ski packages which include the lifts while being pampered at the spa and great restaurant

Stopped in the Kempinski 2 years running , top quality where least expected

The breakfast was superb , swimming pool clean , fitness room is excellent.it is better that hotel facilities will be opened from 7 oclock , exercising before breakfast. The staff are friendly .
