The hotel's location provieds great views of Taxco, but is not worth car/taxi/shuttle rides up if you are stay there more than 1 or 2 days. The staff is fantastic 5 stars.. The other con, is this hotel is outdated, it needs a major renovation.

Montetaxco Hotel is a great place to satey. Excellent service and the staff is very kind and always willing to serve. It's easy to go to downtown by taxi and the great benefit to stay in Montetaxco is a very quiet area

I had booked this hotel to visit Taxco with a friend. We were super excited to go, but then she had a medical emergency a couple of days beforehand and were no longer able to make it. We immediately called the hotel and it was very difficult to reach someone. When we finally did, we told them the situation, and even told them her doctor would provide a letter stating she could not go, and they said they couldn’t do anything and that we had to wait until the Marketing Manager (?!) got in the following day. We were so confused as to why we would need to talk to the Marketing Manager and asked to speak with the hotel’s General Manager. The woman on the phone said that she was the GM and didn’t have the authority to decide on a refund, which I find very strange. Long story short, we went back and forth for two days calling and emailing and never got a response. Expedia’s customer service had to handle the issue and the hotel refused to let us cancel and get our money back. Almost $200 wasted. SMH, never again!

The view is unique and the staff are very kind. They offer several forms of entertainment during the weekend.

Beautiful Hotel with great view of the City of Taxco. We arrived on a Saturday and Hotel had also featured some entertainment that evening for the guests. Room was clean and spacious.

It was very comfortable.

Worst hotel experience in my whole life and I have been traveling around the world, even in low budget hotels ! We have had like 3 cm water in the bathroom due to a problem with the shower and the water ran through the room till the bed - 9pm new years eve! So they came to check if we don't lie, than they came to fix it, than they came to clean the bathroom, than we had to tell them that they please also clean the wet floor of the room and that we obviously need dry towels and a mat for the bathroom... When we initially called the receptionist to advise what was happening we asked to take a shower in another room to don't loose time, they told us that there is no free room. After the process of repairing and cleaning took 1,5 hrs we were late and kind of angry. Going to the reception and talking again with them they suddenly had another room where we could take the shower - now that we already waited nearly 2 hrs! They told us that the manager will talk to us the next morning regarding a discount or anything to recompensate destroying our new years party (arriving late with our friends, kitchen was obviously the kitchen closed at 11:40pm). Result of the conversation, not even with the manager: a breakfast in the buffet and a ticket for a f* bus - as I would ever come back here ?!

Staff at check In was terrible! I had requested a king size bed but they offered 2 beds for our anniversary. Jorge Villarcje Person on duty didn’t care and didn’t listen to our request and was terrible. The manager on duty was not in the property. Reaching Expedia was not possible with recording line. Overall terrible experience. I will not use Expedia again in my life.

The location of the property is something special

The property is not updated, the rooms are old, no Wifi, the service overall was totally bad, we called the room service and the recipient at 10pm to ask a question, they just hang the phone on me, the transportation to the hotel is by cable car, cost $105 per person round trip, they do not speak any english, I will never return to this hotel.

What a fabulous surprise when we got there! The views are stunning and the staff so friendly! The resort was super clean, food delicious and fun shows and fireworks! Thank you for a memorable stay! A bucket list item done! Beautiful town, friendly people and amazing food ! The gondola ride too was so fun!
