This is a lovely property and it's in a great place. The staff were very friendly and checked us in early which was nice. The area itself does unfortunately have a lot of homeless and drug users within it. We walked past many alleys where we would see people passed out or smoking crack / injecting drugs in the middle of the day but this seems to be the same in lots of parts of the city. My only problem with the hotel is that because of the lovely wooden floors throughout there is not much soundproofing and whenever people in the floor above are moving around it sounds like they are stomping. We were woken up a few times by people coming back in late or possibly even getting up to go the bathroom. They do have some mats in the hallways to reduce this noise but it's a moot point since the rooms themselves aren't carpeted. If you are a heavy sleeper this shouldn't be a problem.

Our hotel stay was good. Glad to see the elevator was now available; however, it was down for a short time during my stay. Not a big deal because it was up and running shortly after. The front steps into the hotel was not great as we had to lift our heavy luggage into the hotel. The bathtub in room was high and not accessible for my mother so she did not shower. It took some effort for myself to get into the bathtub/shower as I am very short. Dining options for my mother were limited as she could not walk far. I had to bring food to her. Overall hotel was very clean and staff were very nice.

Awful neighborhood

I was happy to stay in a historical building from Vancouver's past. I like the renovations and decor. I didn't mind the shareable bathrooms on the 4th floor, but they needed regular cleaning and hand towels needed restocking. Could have had better towels in our rooms. And there was no body lotion. The bedrooms needed more hangers or some hooks to hang up towels, clothes and robes

It is an older well maintained building wth character.Even with shared bathrooms it was easy. And was very quiet.

Room was very clean. Bed was exceptionally comfortable. Would definitely stay next time.

The Victoria Hotel is a beautiful boutique hotel on the edge of Gastown. It has been modernised, but retains its historic character. It was a pity that some of the staff on the front desk were not very helpful and did not follow through with requests. We were not the only guests put out by the poor communication of some front desk staff. It seems more training is required.

Staff were amazing

The property was nice..Everything was close and walkable..but; going up to the stairs with big luggages to the property was a struggle for us and also going down. We we need to carry a heavy luggages back and forth bcoz they only have stairs and it was very heavy. We went on a cruise and we both have 2 luggages so it was a struggle.

I rated this hotel a 4 star because the room I was in was above the restaurant on the corner. The noise downstairs was loud and we could hear it in our room.

Very nice lodging.

It was a cool old hotel. Sadly Vancouver has a real problem with homelessness and people doing drugs on the side walks. Too bad, it left us feeling very uneasy.

Loved the location, easy walking distant to Gastown and ocean front. A beautiful mix of vintage building and modern amenities very boutique style. Pricing was great and JJ was very helpful. Will definitely stay there again.

The location was nice and the shared washrooms were always pretty clean. But, there was a funky/humid smell in the room and there was also a shortage of hand towels in the shared washrooms.

This exceeded our expectations in every way!

The horel and staff were wonderful. The hotel was very nice and the restaurant arraches was great. The surrounding area was sad with all the homeless people.

Great place to stay for solo travelers. s long as ya don’t mind share bathrooms in the hallway. Bathrooms and showers are super clean and pretty nice. Service was great but not the best value. Then again nothing in Vancouver ever is.

Easy and friendly

The hotel staff made extra effort to allow our family an early check in. It really helped us as we only had to wait an hour versus all day. Thank you so much for caring helping us.
