Beautiful, authentically Italian property. Michelin star restaurant at the hotel. Very quiet and lovely staff. Perfect get away for a couple or family looking to relax by the pool and enjoy the countryside. Some room for improvement: - beds and mattresses. Not that comfy. I could feel my husband’s every toss and turn. - no food after 9pm and you cannot walk anywhere

Superb time, first time in Chianti and enjoyed it thoroughly. The hotel is incredibly relaxing and a respite, located in a beautiful area that I could stay in for weeks. Incredible views, space to run and cycle nearby.

Great for kids, not so much for couples. Highly overpriced, rooms dark and uncomfortable. Food is bland and the service is poor.

The resort was excellent and so beautiful. Staff went out of their way to help us including reserving some select wine tasting and booking a lunch reservation for us. I was very impressed and would highly recommend it.

Great view and great area

We were expecting something great but it was very mediocre. Beds were extremely uncomfortable, on certain days the only restaurant in the hotel is closed so we’re expected to find someplace outside the hotel to eat, hotel isn’t super close to anything so definitely needed a car.

Super stay. Staff were all great and it was a lovely break from visiting cities in Italy

Fabulous hotel with lots of character in an amazing setting gorgeous views and the most beautiful nature. Since there’s some steps in the building to manage, it is important that you are able to manage stairs. Very attentive and helpful Staff. Fabulous terrace for lunch and breakfast. Food is incredible also of course in the Michelin star restaurant that is very romantic. You don’t want to leave the beautiful pool area. All in a very beautiful pick.

Second visit to the castle. Ideal base to explore this wonderful area.

Great resort hotel in the heart of Tuscany. This hotel was fantastic. Close to wineries and a lot of other fantastic places in the regions. Amazing staff with great attention to detail. The outdoor pool was amazing and had fantastic views of the hillsides, all of which are pure Tuscany. I can not recommend this place more if you are looking for a nice place to stay and relax in the Tuscany region of Italy.

The setting of the hotel is stunning and the property itself is beautiful. Staff were very friendly. This makes up somewhat for the "tired" condition of the rooms (our bathroom had an outdated jacuzzi tub and the knob on the heating towel rack was broken so we couldn't warm up the towels. There were also some issues with service. We ordered room service coffee and mint tea and we received every conceivable tea but no mint. Dinner service was also a little off in the supposed Michelin restaurant. We wanted pasta just with tomato sauce for a vegan in our party, but it arrived with the fish sauce. We also ordered mint tea in the restaurant after dinner but were served Roibos. It's little things like this that may not seem like a big deal, but that make the difference between an average hotel and an excellent one. Also, the coffee at breakfast was not very good, especially for an Italian establishment.

Castello di Spaltenna is absolutely beautiful and the entire staff very welcoming and professional. No disappointments, we would stay again on our next trip!

The hotel is, simply put, phenomenal! It is quaint and steeped in antiquity that oozes Tuscan charm! We had a deluxe double that had a sitting room and a separate bedroom that were both exceptionally comfortable! The hotel amenities were superb with views extending out to the Tuscan countryside and several vineyards well within site. We ate at Il pievano and the meal was without a doubt the best meal Ive had in my life. The attention to detail and the service was truly second to none. Dont debate, just book the room!

Beautiful and stunning views. Location was excellent for Chianti and the Tuscan sights, plus within a reasonable drive (90mins) to Pisa and Florence.

Historic building, beautiful grounds, spectacular views, delicious food, great location to visit wineries and other interesting towns and a terrific room. It has a luxurious feel to everything about it.

Very friendly staff, amazing food and cozy area. The food at the michelin restaurant is highly recommended. Good breakfast as well. If you are allergic to milk, you can get an amazing soy cappuccino here :)

Our room number 18 was very small. For more than 220£ a night you expect a normal size room not room number 18! The swimming pool was nice. The view from the terrace of the Resturaunt was beautiful.

Driving up the hill to the property the look & views are amazing. It's newly renovated but with an old charm. Lot's of stone & wood coverings. The staff was very helpful, the breakfast amazing and dinner was outstanding. It was too cold to sit by the pool but we enjoyed a day at the spa facility... indoor pool, sauna, stream room, etc. Great location for exploring Chianti region.

Fairytale castle hotel in the heart of Tuscany. Everything about this hotel was fabulous! The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. The room was always clean and tidy. The buffet breakfast had a wide range of delicious food and lovely service. Thanks for a great stay!
