The room was not very clean, the mattress was very old and uncomfortable, the room was noisy, and breakfast with very low-quality food (canned fruits and cheap fruit juices) and no options for salty breakfast. The price is too high for the services provided.
Nevertheless, the staff is friendly and very handy.

This is a budget-grade hotel, at a budget price. However, it is in an excellent ;location, right on the Via Grande, ideal for shops, and not far from the waterfront. Breakfast was basic, but decent. My room could have done with a deep clean, as I was bitten by unseen insects on three separate occasions. After a couple of days I started checking my bedclothes in the evenings.

We travel frequently, and this was the worst hotel we've ever stayed in. We were on the 5th floor in August, and the air conditioner was broken, front desk said they would come look at it, and they never came. We couldn't sleep at all in the heat. The carpet was so dirty my kids feet turned black after 10 mins. The bathroom smelled terrible. I spent a ridiculous amount of money on this hotel (high season) for the service and quality we received.

Rooms were not very clean. Bathrooms need to be redesigned as the shower was extremely small. Beds are too soft coupled with a very hard pillow. Very noisy location and windows didn’t close completely. Location is good and service staff were excellent.

We just spent a very short night at this hotel, but good. Friendly staff. The location is good, very much in the center of Livorno. The (box) parking was unfortunately too small for my Volvo, but in general well located.

The positive: Location.The negative: The worst beds we have ever used in our lives. You literally had the metal springs poking your entire body. The bathroom was ridiculous, you couldnt shower without causing a flood on the entire floor. The breakfast was ok if you were really hungry.

However on arrival we were told the only free parking was on the busy street outisde (as it was the evening), which was packed. The hotels own parking is in an underground car park a few streets away, for which we had to pay 10 euros. It was difficult to access this car park because if the one way system.

Hotel was alright but the STAFFS are horrible and unfriendly, do not expect anything from them ...
Nobody was even trying to help you or giving any kind of information.. they showed me a list and said here is everything written.. when is breakfast and wifi etc. at the breakfast buffet there was no croissant so i asked him for it.. he was said no and if i have a problem with it.. i should take whatever is there.. never had such bad coffee in italy before.. there are so many small things...

Old hotel with plenty of character. Good size rooms and friendly staff. Right in the heart of the main shopping street. Bus stop 50m away to train station. My only down side was some noisy plumbing!

we recommend a one night stay if you need such a good location but for a long stay it's not ideal: there is smoke smell every where and the bed is not comfortable. Room is clean though and breakfast is better than expected given the low cost of the hotel

Your review stated there was car parking but this is in the front street and you will be lucky to get this so you will have to drive to a public car park, this is just over the street but people should know this.

We got off a ferry from Corsica and were looking for a simple overnight towards onward travel. Giappone Hotel had a great rate and a great location for a reasonably priced cab ride from the ferry and the bus to central train station is right outside. Room was nice enough, Staff was helpful for getting the train schedules we needed, wifi worked pretty good, and included breakfast was first rate. I'd stayed in this hotel again!

Booked the hotel on line via hotels.com and payed on credit card on arrival we were told that no room was available. Had to spend and extra €120.00 and time on a near by hotel. The above hotel has a bad Organization layout to secure rooms for clients.
will not recommend to no one.
Hope hotels.com will compensate for above lost time and money.

Wifi access and Internet connections were both down, however staff provided assistance in gathering new travel information for us. Livorno is not a tourist destination, rather a transit point and this hotel was cheap and clean.
