Beautiful! In a beautiful part of town. Only stayed 1 night but it was like being transported back in time. Even our electric kettle for tea looked like an antique China pot.

If you are visiting Lyon, we would thoroughly recommend this super hotel. Everywhere is so different from the usual 'hotel are us' type of hotels you find worldwide. Staff were excellent and very helpful. Location is very central immediately beside Bellecour Square, so good access to the parts of the city you may wish to explore. Only downsides I can think of is that there is no elevator that reaches the ground floor. Access is by a remotely operated locked door but you have to climb one flight of stairs, with any luggage you may have, before reaching reception on the 1st floor. From there, you do have an elevator to take you to most of the rooms. Breakfast was a delight - food was excellent and the breakfast room is just lovely. Once again, would recommend and will return on any future visit to Lyon.

The Hotel Bayard Bellecour is a lovely, well appointed hotel that is so convenient to everything you want to see in Lyon. The front desk clerk was so charming, pleasant and helpful. The room was elegant however a bit dark. It transports you to an earlier, more elegant time. There is a rotary dial that still works, crystal glasses and small touches.
The breakfast was pricey but lovely. Lots of different cakes, breads and selection of yogurts, fruit, cheese and sliced meats.

Wonderful stay at this beautiful hotel. Perfect location in the middle of town walking distance to everything and otherwise close to transit. The hotel is furnished with lovely antiques.
Make sure you have the breakfast! The breakfast area is lovely with a large selection of homemade treats as well as all the usual breakfast items. Not to be missed!

Odd hotel room- No 9- bath in open plan room with no cupboards and no walk in shower. Unable to view TV due to its position in a cupboard over a fireplace. View of depressing courtyard. Convenient situation of hotel.

exceptional place! we were upgraded to the prestigious room and surprised with cakes and cookies because it was our honeymoon. reception staff were always pleasant and helpful, every single one of them! beds and pillows were a tad soft so some may wake with a little ache, but it was huge! also, perhaps the items were vintage, i found myself itching a little in the room (im highly allergic to dust so you may not have the same problem). still, i love the decor of the room and how it faces the wonderful bellcour.
last thing to note, as much as the tub was aesthetically pleasing (and great for soaks), it was a little stressful when we showered because water tend to splash out and wet the whole floor. so if it’s any issue for you, choose the other rooms with showers instead.

Situated near Place Bellevour in Lyon. Hotel situated on First floor and above. We had a a baroque decorated room. Lot of space and great bathroom. The decoration in this hotel is amazing. From the old pictures of Lyon to the deco in the breakfast room. So nice. Good breakfast home made food. Its missing fresh fruit on the breakfast. Staff are very friendly and helpful. We stayed 1 night but will stay again for sure.

Hotel Bayard Bellecour is full of character and spotlessly clean. The quietly efficient staff were welcoming and friendly. The buffet breakfast was delicious, plentiful and served in a beautiful room. The hotel is perfectly situated (very central so most sights are walkable) with a metro station very close. If you like shiny-floored, soulless, corporate hotels - don't stay here. If you want to stay somewhere a bit different and full of quiet charm, I recommend this beautiful hotel!

I absolutely loved Hotel Bayard. It is a very unique and charming boutique hotel with exquisite, old world style. I had a private bathroom (including the toilet). The entry to get to the reception area is unique and charming, as well. But, you must walk up a full flight of stairs with your bags to get to the registration/reception area. The windows open to let fresh air in. The air conditioning was not as strong as I would prefer, but that seems common in France. I had a great experience at Hotel Bayard.

This is a fabulous hotel. Our room had fantastic views over the main square (Bellecour) and across to Fourviere hill with the cathedral. Metro station, shops and many places to dine close by. Has amazing decor and wonderfully comfortable beds. Our room had a standalone bath and a TV that you could hide from view. A great option for exploring an exciting city.

The room was very dark, and cramped due to its layout. the staff was lovely and the breakfast was good. The location is excellent. There was no elevator, which made carrying the luggage quite a challenge!

I really loved this place. I loved the traditional French decore and although it had a historic vibe, everything was clean and modern at the same time. It is in a perfect location. The parking garage is just 5 minutes (it is a bit tricky to find because the Lyon traffic patterns are crazy). The staff was wonderful and the breakfast was fantastic. I thought my breakfast was included but it wasn't so make sure you clarify!

Hotel was a excellent place to stay in Old Town Lyon, with great access to the Metro. The room was nicely kept and well appointed and were very clean. We stayed here twice, in two different rooms. We like them both but neither are well situated for a disabled person, but was not a problem for us. Room 4 had a very nice walk-in shower, but room 2 had a very deep bathtub and no shower which was a bit difficult to get in and out of if you aren't agile. We will certainly consider staying here again on our next trip to Lyon.

Property was in a good location and the staff was very friendly. There was no one there in the morning when we tried to leave however. The air conditioning was poor. We asked for a fan and they provided one and that helped. They didn't serve breakfast early enough for us to enjoy it.

Had a most excellent stay here in July 2022. The location is fabulous, our room was spotlessly clean and comfortable with a gorgeous view, the staff were exceedingly friendly and spoke great English when my French faltered. And finally, the breakfast at 19 euros was worth every penny. Fantastic. I would stay here again!

Stayed for 3 nights in a room that had a king bed. The room was quite large by European standards and the bed was very comfortable. The decor as very charming. Loved the location and it was generally quiet (just an occasional bit of noise from the street). I would definitely stay here again if I return to Lyon.

The room was beautiful… the only complaint is that the room had a overwhelming musty odor. It seemed to emanate from the old armoire so we went out and bought a room freshener and that seemed to help.

Very enjoyable stay at what is a hotel that has been decorated with a European vintage flare yet extremely modern. Comfortable room with an excellent view of the main square. Service and location were perfect. Highly recommended

Really nice, friendly and welcoming staffs who are willing to share some travelling tips and gave me a small but sweet surprise for my birthday. The renovated room is classy, cosy and clean. There was water dropping off from the air-con but they fixed it within just an afternoon (it’s super quick, especially on Sunday!) Thanks for this enjoyable stay and big thanks to the team.
We will definitely come back next time to try the breakfast ☺️!!!

The hotel would get a 5/5 but breakfast a 3/5. There should be croissants at a French breakfast and freshly brewed coffee, not a pot of drip coffee left sitting. There was no fresh fruit that looked edible nor an assortment of toppings for yogurt other than jams.

My husband and I stayed at this hotel for two nights while visiting Lyon. The hotel is in a great location. Quick walk to the cobble stoned streets and restaurants in Vieux Lyon and easy access to the Basilica. We loved how historical the hotel felt, but they've done a beautiful job with the renovations. Our room was very clean, we loved the big bath tub, very comfortable bed, and the hotel had everything we needed. The staff were very friendly. The breakfast room was lovely. We enjoyed the fresh made bread, pastries, yogurt, and cheeses. A truly memorable stay in Lyon!
