Very well maintained decorated with collectible antiques clean well maintained place , we had a great time and were highly impressed with the quality of the care and the facilities David and his wife went above and beyond with the treatment and the interest in our comfort and again highly recommend the stay to everyone 💯😘😁

The 'Shack' has it all! Every single detail was creative and well thought out. The ambiance is amazing! The space plan is genius, 3 levels - the bedroom with a fireplace on the first floor, the living room, dining room, and kitchen on the 2nd, and the loft created the 3rd level where kids or other party members can have their own space. The location is perfect as a gateway to Tellico and the surrounding areas. We felt so blessed to have found this treasure and will definitely be back. David was so friendly and informative. Thank you for a wonderful time!

We stayed 2 nights at this "Fabulous Shack". The place was exceptionally clean, comfortable and quiet. Communications with the Host David were friendly, timely and complete. The place is really unique but very functional. Would recommend this place for staying in Tellico Plains.

The Fabulous Shack was just too cute! It was exactly as advertised. We enjoyed our stay and would definitely book it again when in the area.

Quite location with a plenty of access to the Dragon. There is plenty of parking, but there is a small slope (but had no problems on the bikes). Perfect for a small family with a loft area for the kids (two beds in the loft). David maintained great communication, and was a nice gentleman. All in all we would definitely stay again.

What a wonderful getaway cabin! Throughly enjoyed my stay, and am already planning to book again next year.

This is a lovely little cabin, a great place to unwind and relax. The hosts are very welcoming and helpful. The cabin is convenient to everything in Tellico Plains, the skyway and many other attractions in the area.

Really cute cabin. I liked laying in the bed looking up at the beautiful wood ceiling. There are so many unique features in this cabin. The grounds are manicured with gardens and flowers. Very clean. You can tell the owner is very detail oriented and this was a work of love building this cabin. Lots of attention to little details. You do have to drive to everything but not far. I wouldn’t feel comfortable walking the road down to the store just because people do drive fast on the roads up there in the mountains It’s great for a couple nights and to see the lake and waterfall nearby. The owner was helpful and made us feel very welcome. If in the area I would definitely stay again. I’ve never seen any cabin as cute as this.

Loved staying here! The cabin is very cool, very well decorated! It was comfy and cozy, we hung out here a good bit on vacation while it was hot over the first weekend in July. We enjoyed it!

Mr. DeWalt was a great host. Made us feel right at home. By far one of my best VRBO experience. I highly recommend this host and place. You will not be disappointed. We are planning another trip back for next year.

Everything about this little cottage is unique. It’s bigger than it looks in pictures! Very private and quiet.

David's cabin was, simply, THE BEST! A perfect getaway for the 2 of us. The handcrafted details of the cabin were abundant and beautiful, and for what we thought would be a small space, it actually felt quite large! David was an incredible host and made us feel so welcome. He replied to my messages immediately, made sure we had everything we needed, and extended unexpected hospitality at every turn. One last tip: Don't sleep on Tellico Grains bakery! We would have gone there every day if they were opened on Sundays and Mondays! Tellico Plains is a beautiful area with endless outdoor adventures, and a quiet but active downtown with enough shops to fill a slow afternoon.

The Fabulous Shack is just that! Mr DeWalt has reimagined this wonderful home away from home in the most unique way, and by using repurposed wood , furniture pieces, decor that ties a unique blend altogether for a fabulous stay, home away from home. Inside and out it's such a relaxing, nice stay. Not to mention how personable, genuinely nice Mr DeWalt and his wife are. If you're looking to relax, decompress, in a unique "shack", beautiful, quiet surroundings, then Fabulous Shack is for you!

"The Shack" was just as described and the owners were very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed using the kithenette. 2 min. drive to downtown Tellico Plains - just across the highway. Hope to come back another time before long.

We stayed for a couple of nights to explore the area and do some hiking. We had our 6 and 8 year old and they loved the cabin. The kids beds in the loft were a hit! Well stocked with towels and cleaning supplies. We hope to come back!

This cabin was built with a labor of love for quality and craftsmanship. Simple and efficient use of space throughout. The attention to detail was welcoming. Thoroughly enjoyed my stay and plan on returning in the spring.

Tellico Plains best VRBO! Absolutely perfect in everyway! Dave & his wife were a sheer joy! The property listing does not show the amazing view...you will LOVE this stay! The accommodations were perfect and just what the doctor ordered. We will be staying here again!!!

This cabin is truly a work of art with the use of historical memorabilia and furnishings. David put a lot of work to make this cabin special for a wedding anniversary week long retreat. This is a number one to recommend for a place to stay while exploring the Cherohala Parkway, hiking trails in the Cherokee and Nantahala National Forests or biking on road 210 along the Telico River.

The owner was a very gracious host (& just about thought of anything one might need!). Beautiful & well built cabin, very cozy, & easily accessible from highway 68.
