Great private place to Stay on our way to Big Bend. We’d definitely stay again!

Served our needs very well!

House was nice for two nights, owner was responsive with questions and also had a nice little info book. Unfortunately it was super foggy when we went so cannot comment on the star gazing deck but would imagine that and the view from the bed are great when it's clear!

We stayed here for one night on our way to Big Bend. It was clean and comfortable. It is well taken care of and provided all the basics we needed.

This had a spectacular view. It was just as described. Quiet and comfortable bed.

I have waited a couple weeks to put in this review hoping the owner would do right but sadly I guess that is not going to happen. We booked for a Thursday to Saturday stay, then we decided to come a day earlier so we added Wednesday. We stayed that Wednesday night.. you can see my previous review... We were out and about the next day and decided to come in for a siesta since it was 106! We got back to find the AC had quit. We called Chuck and he came from work to look at it. The unit would not stay on without the circuit breaker flipping. Chuck said he was going to try and find a new cord and would be right back. While he was gone I put in the door code and 2 more circuit breakers also went out with a loud pop and you could smell them smoldering. I called Chuck and he said he could not find another cord with a safety breaker but he found a non breakered cord. At this time we were concerned with the safety of the building so we let Chuck know we were going to a motel. As we drove to the hotel I got a call from Trish his co-host who said they would be submitting our refund. Not hearing anything once we got home I called Vrbo and they said a refund had not been submitted, they then got ahold of Chuck and he authorized 2 nights refund on our 3 night reservation. I have contacted Chuck multiple times over the last weeks. Seven days ago he texted he had been busy but had not forgotten about us-- have not heard from him since. Our first vrbo experience but we have no trust anymore

Cute little cabin on the very edge of town. Were in town for herping event so was good for us as we were not in the house much. Biggest concern going in was the AC situation. Wall mounted motel type unit did the job... too cold for me but perfect for the wife, which is normal for us. Very much a dorm room feel to it as the sitting area and the bed are only separated by a partial wall. Shower water pressure was amazing and mattress was comfy. Recommended for a couple but think large would be problematic.

I booked here and they went through Vrbo. I had an issue but it would have not existed if you have the Vrbo App. You pretty much need the app for alerts and door code. Property owner responded in roughly 20 minutes of my issue. Wish it was sooner, but not a big deal My only complaint is the fridge is somewhat loud. Otherwise, this property was a nice alternative to other housing options in the area and provided some privacy. Should I have to be in this area, I would book again.

Great place to stay on our visit to Big Bend! The cabin was clean, everything was ready for us when we arrived. The host left their number but we didn’t end up needing anything. The skydeck was really fun. Highly recommended!

The property was not clean. Trash in cans and bed looked slept in. Did not stay.

This is a very nicely decorated, spacious cabin. There is a nice raised viewing deck (we dubbed it "the skydeck") for watching the sunset -- a special and unique feature. The proprietor left his phone number and picked up right away when we contacted him about a couple of missing items, and he rectified the situation within an hour. A comfortable bed and a well-supplied kitchenette all made for a very appealing unit. The cleaning of the bathroom could have been a bit more thorough, and we were surprised to find no toilet paper and only a single bath towel. (These latter items were provided soon after we contacted the owner and informed him. He was apologetic and responsive.) And there was an issue with the shower door such that the bathroom floor got quite wet. I hope the owner addresses that promptly, because othewise this is really a very nice place. We recommend it.

Property was easy to find. Upon arrival there were a few things that we noticed that needed attention. The property needs some maintenance and upkeep. When contacting the owners they responded and quickly fixed the problems we contacted them about. Overall the stay was average and would be better with some preventative maintenance and cleaning.

Very quiet area; if the weather's right, the skydeck is a great place to have a meal. The bed is very comfortable.

The bed was very comfortable. Kitchen area was clean with plenty of dishes and necessities. Bathroom was nicely laid out Wi-Fi was out last 24 hrs or so. Deck needs X-brace as when two adults are up there it wobbles somewhat. Kinda scary. View is great but wobble makes it less comfortable. Loved the area. Quiet and the view of the nighttime sky is awesome. Travel to MARFA, FORT DAVIS and surrounding attractions perfectly situated. Sul Ross museum great to go through. Very close by.

My husband and I enjoyed a relaxing, peaceful night in the cabin. It was nice to have our two small dogs with us.

Location was perfect for stargazing! The deck was a nice feature. You can see wildlife walking by, the neighborhood is quiet & the residence are friendly. This was a very peaceful place to stay for a city get away.

Please take these suggestions as instructive: Could use some maintenance updates. The sky tower is shaky. Railings need to be sanded. Neighborhood is a bit sketchy. Door threshold should be adjusted. Mattress was super comfy, though.

This was our first time to Alpine. The neighborhood was nice. We went for walks each day. I would warn visitors about these little demons called grass burrs, sticker burrs sand spur.

Clean nice size cabin with a comfortable bed and upscale shower.

After booking this place for a few I asked for the exact address so I can plug it into my GPS. Vrbo said they didn’t have that information. I was told to contact the owner. Owner wouldn’t answer their phone. Owner did text me a message that said check the app, that was all they texted. I immediately called my credit card company to cancel. I believed this was all a scam. It’s been two weeks now and I’m still waiting for a refund.

Private, quiet, walking distance to small park if you have pets, and close drive to dining.

Came to town for a mule deer hunt and needed a comfortable place to stay. The Cactus cabin was just what I needed, the place was comfortable and clean. Very convenient and beautiful stars at night. If I find myself in Alpine again I would definitely book again.

Our stay was great!! We stayed for 3 nights and enjoyed the sky deck and the layout of the property. The bathroom was very nice and the property was very roomy.
