Our stay was ok, we knew we wouldn’t be in the lap of luxury with a 3* hotel but we at least had hoped it would be clean. I’ll try and keep this review fair and objective.
Pros:
• Excellent location, the hotel is situated a stones throw away from KingsX station (like 5 mins walk) making it easy to get around the city. Additionally, considering how close it is to the hustle and bustle it was so quiet in our room.
• 24hr reception - our train had so many delays and we ended up arriving in the wee hours, thankfully there was someone to let us in
• Responsive customer service - when we arrived, we weren’t satisfied with the room we were given (more details in cons) and they moved us to a different room.
Cons:
• The place is just filthy, when we arrived we were placed in a room with a broken headboard (they used a pink cleaning cloth to hold it together somehow), the sheets had clearly not been changed between guests (they were creased with stains and hairs on them), we used a bit of tissue to wipe the floor and it just came out black. Absolutely appalling, cleanliness should be the bare minimum. We did get moved to a different room, but the bathroom was dirty and pillows under the cases had stains and clearly haven’t been changed for years.
• Accessibility - if you have accessibility considerations then this is not the place for you. There’s no ramps, no lifts and the showers are pretty small.
• They provide iron on request, but no ironing board.
Overall not for us.

Rooms are small and rather basic, but clean and functional. It's a good value for money hotel in a great spot near King's Cross. Staff were very friendly.
Everything worked okay with the exception of the wifi, which was either poor or non-existent. I was there on business and wanted to do some work, so this was a real problem. It may be better in other rooms.
Despite a ground floor room next to the main road it was quieter than I thought it would be. I would definitely stay there again unless I really needed that wifi.

Tried to contact them IMMEDIATELY after booking the wrong date by mistake, communication was terrible to try get refund or rearrange a date.

Was expecting a very basic hotel for price but pleasantly surprised. Excellent location, no frills hotel but perfectly functional. Comfortable and clean rooms, we reported an issue with shower in room above leaking drips into our bathroom which was noted. We had a room at the back of the hotel which was on a quiet road. Would definitely stay here again.

Great place to stay if you are traveling and in a rush to rest somewhere.

Tired and low quality room but very clean and staff polite and courteous. Price reflects room so unfair to complain.

Charged for early check in. Room was already ready but still charged anyway. My friend found the hotel a bit creepy too so there was vibes of it being a bit dull

Great location and not too noisy area.
Single room was tiny but relavetely clean. Nice to find a bottle of water, a fruit and available tea/coffee bags in the room
Bathroom tiny and smelly with a tiny sink which was also half blocked.
A lot of noise coming from upstairs and next door.
Too expensive for what offered

The positive is the location not far from King's Cross station and v quite,no traffic road. That's about it. The room we stayed in was very small as expected and the bathroom even smaller. As you enter the building you get hit by damp smell and it carries on in your room. The bed sheets have seen better days and duvet cover had big stain on it as well as the mattress and pillows. Next day in the morning we had no water in the taps and after seeing the receptionist we were told repair man is on the way and we got water bottles. The bathroom is very small but the sink is so small that when you brushing your teeth you can't actually spit in the sink. At the end it is cheap hotel so don't except anything fancy.

The front desk staff were friendly. They informed us there was 24hr entry. * Good to be aware of - You have to present your passport or some form of ID even if you live in the UK - no ID = no room!
The room was clean , nicely furnished but quite ‘compact and beaujous’ and looked newly decorated. Compact bathroom with a small shower cubicle but good pressure and hot water. Toiletries supplied. There were tea and coffee facilities with a bowl of fruit and 2 bottles of water on the side table. Freeview channels on the TV with the option of signing in to streaming channels. The room was a comfortable temperature.
In fact it was very acceptable for one or two nights away, my only negative was that the mattress was uncomfortable - not very supportive and we could feel all the springs.

I was put into a basement room in the back that was extraordinarily damp and moldy. The walls were paper thin and the people next to me were playing their radio and laughing. Plus, no Wi-Fi in the basement? I checked out an hour later and found another place. I'm hoping they're going to reimburse me. But who knows?

Check in experience was Poor. Turned away at 1:51pm as check in wasn't listed till 2pm... asked if the room was ready - it was - but we had to wait outside until 2pm. Strange customer service.

This was a quick turn round overnight stay for single traveller. Room was small basic and clean with tea coffee water fresh fruit in room . Shower and bathroom facilluties good and clean. Building work in local area but room itself proved quiet overnight. Handy for St Pancras KingsX. No resteraunt. Internet room service. Staff very polite and attentive on arrival and departure.

Very convenient for catching early or coming back on late Eurostar trains.
Staff very helpful and friendly.

Cheap hotel close to kings cross station. Don’t stay here if you want any sleep the walls are paper thin, creaking floor boards, street noise, etc. might be better on a higher level but be prepared to walk suitcases up the stairs. Service was good, staff were very helpful and friendly.

A good location . Just by the station. Very friendly. The only downside is not in a good condition
3.0
Pros - The staff were lovely and the location is fantastic for getting around by train and the tube. The room was pretty clean.
Cons - Everything feels a bit tired in the hotel. The walls are paper thin so you hear your neighbours. The stairs to the lower level are not the easiest to navigate especially when carrying your suitcase.

Perfect for a nights stay, decently priced and a nicely presented room.

This is a small hotel but very clean and the tv channels has all the apps but no sky sports.
There is no lift in the property but good location for everything for a quick stop over it meets the needs.

Let us check in early which was great. Amazing value. Perfect location to King’s Cross, but far enough away from main road to be quiet.
Absolutely great for the price. Would stay again.

Great affordable place if taking the early morning Eurostar

I was greeted by a friendly receptionist who is available 24/7, signed a formed, handed a key and shown where to go - up 3 flights of narrow stairs; don't stay here if you have mobility issues.
The room was good, an OK bed with nice white, clean linen, towels, an en-suite toilet and shower (more on this later), a TV, fan, wardrobe, tea and making facilities, some bottled water and even some fresh fruit. I think if they added a small fridge then the room would match the facilities of much more expensive hotel rooms.
Anyway, no complaints, until my morning shower. The water pressure was a bit disappointing until a pump suddenly kicked in half way through the shower. At the same time the shower temperature switched to only two settings, boiling hot or scolding hot. The temperature control seemed to broken and it was locked at the high setting. In the end I had to turn it off and use cold water from the sink to wash of the soap suds.
A real shame about the shower which spoiled an otherwise enjoyable stay. I did report the problem so hopefully your stay won't have the same issue.

It is better than a backpackers but I won't stay there again.

I only stayed 1night at the Argyle Square Hotel and it served my purpose to get quickly to St Pancras Railway station to catch the 6am Eurostar train.
My single bedroom was small with a tiny bathroom. It was clean and served my one night stay well.

The room was cosy and the shower was great.

The fiirst impression was a nice one as was treated by a lovely lady she was very helpful and the man at night was too.
The room is a ok size.the tea/coffee/milk and sugars are well stocked they left us a bottle of water each which is a nice touch!
The room was obviously been touched up with paint in the corner of the wall /ceilin which is the back of the bathroom where there is still remmononce of mould
The covers dnt smell clean, shower gel smells gone off out of date the towels all had stains on them. there is a leak under the sink
The extractor fan dnt work and is needed as there is no window in the bathroom
No aircon just a fan in room
Mould in room you can smell it too
Can’t leave windows open because on lower floor
Head board on single bed is so noise as is wobbly
It’s definitely a place you would stay at last minute !
I wouldn’t book again for the price I paid
I was expecting shower gel and all the trimming on the wall of bathroom
Aircon clean covers, extractor fan that works air con “ex”

Small double room and tiny hotel corridors. No soundproofing so could hear people up and downstairs and anyone going by the door was really loud

Room was very small outdated, mold on bathroom ceiling, no view basement! Staff were all friendly, ideal for kings cross if you want a no frills bed for the night

The shower could only be set to really hot; I couldn't make it cold, so I had to improvise, which was inconvenient.

Pleasant, clean first floor room. Very good value for money compared to other similar hotels in the Kings X area at the price. NB they don't offer breakfast.
