The staff was fantastic and activities were fun. However, though the property was extensive, it was not as nice as I had expected. It’s not in a convenient location as you either need to have a car or hire a taxi. We only decided to stay there because of the activities offered on site. But we prefer Pousada Girasol which we had stayed at earlier. It was in town, very nice though small grounds, and offer good value for money. At Cabanas, monkeys roam the area and we were warned at check in to keep our windows closed. I forgot this warning the next morning and opened the window a tiny crack for ventilation. While at breakfast, monkeys entered our unit and took off with our bananas and nuts, and left feces on the bathroom counter and some banana peels on the floor. We were shocked. It was our fault but thought that it would be good for the hotel to put up a reminder in all the rooms as well as install a screen in the bathroom since the monkeys are a nuisance. The room window had a screen. Finally, Hotel Cabanas took a very long time to reply to my queries after I had made the reservation. I contacted them through the booking.com site as well as by email and they took more than a week to reply.

Exceptional experience. Privilegedly located between two rivers, the hotel is very well designed to fit into its environment and the surrounding ecosystem. It offers multiple access points to the rivers and a surprising range of activities on the area of the hotel. The entire staff was super friendly and welcoming. Close experience with monkeys on the property included.

Good location and full of nice activities. Service is really welcoming.

Macacos Prego are funny at first, but are really threatening, since they may invade your chalet/room (and make a mass inside!) if you accidentally forget to lock the doors or windows. They may also chase you around if you carry food with you.

Perfect location, surrounded by nature and lots to do on the property. Facilities ara adequate and staff very friendly.

Nothing but would have liked a hammock on the veranda.
